Got pulled over by the State troopper for going 83 in a 55 mph speed zone. I told him I was trying to go 85 mph to make my commute time to my next hospital for 0700 rounds. I got no ticket. And the sensitive part was he asked me if he were shot if I would take good care of him. I told him I would. As that area had high amount GSWs.

Sometimes your job is your friend.
You were lucky, that could have been a very expensive ticket.

I try not to reveal my job position in those types of situations because I am not above the law. But my colleagues tell me to use it as often as possible. ;D

I think I'll start driving around with a box of Krispy Kremes, for a similar purpose.

I admit to not having enough time between shifts. I left PROMPTLY on time from the 1 st job...The problem was not having enough time between shifts so I could do 2 gigs in 24 hrs. I was usually 20 minutes late for the second job.

Deb, i am unconvinced that you are a doctor..regardless, i am glad i'm not being cared for by you for the simple fact that 2 shifts (assuming 8 hrs) is not SAFE... over fatigue leads to bad decisions.

I am not trying to convince any one that I am a doctor. That was in my days of chasing the money. I now work 1 hospital per 24 hours. I cut back on work to 4 days per week with 3 days off per week.
I'm thinking about Cruise Line Doctoring.....No traffic cops there, but if there's an out break of vomiting and diarrhea on a cruise boat that foretells misery.

Uh...back to the question for me! When I was 19, I hung out with this older girl (23-24 age - I can't remember now) and we would go club hopping. She'd pay my way into the clubs ($10-20 each since I was underage) if I would be her designated driver for the night. I didn't care to drink but loved to dance, so it was win-win for both of us. She'd usually bring her drink of choice with her to get started early (drive to the clubs for us was around an hour each way). One night, we're stopped at a red light with a cop stopped directly behind us. I told her to be prepared (as she had an open bottle of vodka under her seat) to get pulled over as I had a burned out tail light in my '62 Corvair. She argued with me that he wouldn't pull me over for that, but I knew what I was talking about. Sure enough, as soon as the light turned green, the cop turned his lights on and pulled me over. Told me it was for a burned out light. I played totally dumb, even pointing out the fact that the car had just been inspected within the previous two weeks (left out the part where my dad was an inspector and would just bring a tag home for me and slap it on the car). He asked me to step out so he could point the light out to me and then...... Spent the next 5 minutes talking to me about what kind of car it was and how cool it was that I was driving it!! I swear the guy just pulled me over to check the car out (although, I was dressed for clubbing at the time too).

Another time I was pulled over:
When my son was 2 years old, 6 months after I had left his father and filed for divorce, son had to have back surgery for scoliosis. He was placed in a full body cast for 3 months to allow his back to heal properly. One Wednesday night, we went to church and the poor kid just would not stop crying after we arrived - nothing worked. Thankfully, it was a small congregation, they were very understanding, everyone helped as much as they could, and the preacher just preached louder - but I just could not handle it any more. There was nothing I could do to calm my son down, I was miserable trying to and embarrassed that we were causing such a stir in church.
I left church early and drove, crying myself, and speeding home with son still screaming bloody murder in the back seat. The road was totally deserted when out of nowhere these headlights appeared in my rear view mirror. I couldn't tell if it was a cop or not, I knew I was speeding, but didn't care at that moment.
Sure enough, it was a cop and he pulled me over. As soon as those pretty red and blue lights when on, son stopped all screaming and crying to watch the flashing lights. Not a peep out of him the entire time I'm pulled over.
Cop told me I was doing 65 in a 40. He asked for my insurance card. I couldn't find my current one - only the pile of expired cards were in my glove box. He asked for my driver's license and if the address was correct. No, it's not (due to the separation - never got around to changing it).
He went to his car for a while and then came back. Handed me my license - "Get your address changed". Yes sir. Handed me my expired insurance card - "Get the accurate insurance card in your vehicle." Yes sir. "Stop speeding." Yes sir. "Have a nice evening ma'am." Yes sir, thank you sir.
As soon as those lights turned off and the cop drove away, son started screaming bloody murder again.....
