Pat - Is that really you? You are so pretty and you don't look near 65!! Holy Cow!!! You look like you have highlights in your hair - not gray hair.

Are you kidding me, dye hair, way to high maintenance. Barely do more than wash and brush daily...another reason long and straight is my friend.
Gray, a little bit in the part, but okay, it's life.

I got my first grey streak when I was 14. My aunt was white haired by the time she was 30, so that's what I was told to expect. It took me a few more years but I've been silver for a very long time (55 now). I did dye it for awhile in my teens, but that was more about playing with hair than vanity. I quit doing it because my hair grows so fast and I didn't much care for the skunk look.
I've always been glad I starting greying so early - You can't believe you're getting old when you're barely a teenager.
BLUE STUFF: Yes I do use a rinse on my hair, about once a week. I alternate between 'White Minx' and 'Silver Fox'. It keeps it from turning brassy/yellow/nasty. Too much blue stuff tho - bad thing LOL
Interesting thing: DH of a friend of mine was prof at UW. He said there were ties between women with pre-mature grey having a high incidence of downs babies. Neither my aunt nor I ever reproduced however so no statistical input from us.

I am happy to say that I am in the generational skip where at 45, I only have a few strands of grey, and you really have to look for them! DD2 had grey at 16, my mother had grey at 16, her mother had very very little grey at 50, and HER mother was snow white at 23. Lucky me!

My hair started going gray at 20. I have been coloring it for years. No one every knows what color I might show up with. Then a little over a year ago I got it cut short to get rid of most of the color and decided to go natural (whatever that turned out to be) it is almost completely white. (I am 45)

I started finding grays as a Sophomore in HS. I've never colored my hair - just too much trouble to maintain it. I always hated how my mom's hair looked half the time - too dark just after she had it done, then roots when it needed to be done again.
My uncles all have beautiful white hair, no balding at all. I'm hoping my boys will inherit the nice Irish genes from my side, rather than DH's. He is just beginning to get gray in his hair, more in his beard, but he's been balding since college. I've heard that men should look at their mother's brothers to see what they can expect.

My wife is a brunette but dyes her hair auburn. She once couldn't find the brand of dye she normally uses, so she bought a different brand. Her hair came out Bozo red. She has still not forgiven me for the way I laughed.

Well, I'm more gray than light brown these days. Actually 2/3 gray. 1 hair is still brown and the other two are gray.

;D... Rovo
I've been dying my hair with a temp dye since my early 50's. The color fades gradually and the grey hairs tend to look dark blond especially if I use a color that has gold in it. I really don't know how much grey I have. My skin tone would not look good with grey hair.
