If I was low, I'd be tempted. Wouldn't it be nice to get another freebie on TP? How are you gals holding up with your TP stockpiles these days? My TP stockpile is ok, but getting low. I still have 2 of the large (I think 6 packs) of the better RA brand. It is really decent TP and the rolls last a long time. I think I have maybe one other 6 pack of another brand, and a few single rolls (5-6) of the Cottonelle with the Jonathon Adler covers that were free recently at cvs. I was just thinking I might use my $12 staples reward to buy some more TP and paper towels. There was a $5/25 for cleaning supplies in the ad this week, so, might be a decent deal with coupons. constanz: That is EXACTLY what I did with my $26 Staples rewards a couple of weeks ago. They advertised 8-pks of Bounty Basic and 16 pks of Charmin Basic for $6 (limit of 4 each). I had a $1/1 for the Bounty Basic to sweeten the deal (5/20 SS), so I bought (4) Bounty and (1) Charmin. I would have purchased 4 Charmin and 1 Bounty if I had had $1/1 Charmin coupons, but oh well. I have a great stockpile of office supplies from previous years of back-to-school freebies, so getting paper products with my rewards was a pretty sweet deal.

marvholly I live in Alexandria. I've struggled with keeping up with just viewing this site. Overloads of information are too much for me. I'm looking for one or two sites where I can find what the sales price of items is, what the usual price is, and what coupons are available to match with the sales. That's what I loved about the Grocery Game. It did all of that for me in one place. If you know of any local blogs that do that too that would be awesome. I haven't located any, but I haven't looked recently either. I have a friend that swears by the Grocery Game and am curious if anyone else had used it or something similar that they could recommend. I sit down once a week and plan my shopping, so I want a site that regularly is updated on my planning days, which is usually Saturdays when I get my new coupons.

There is a lot of BOGO razor coupons in the inserts :)so if they do the venus again next week at CVS, I will get more venus, this time for almost free bcuz of my $10 EB ;D Just be careful that you are not "double counting" your savings. Either count it when you earn the reward or when you spend it, but not both. I see a lot of people doing this, which over inflates your saving and true OOP. Good point, constanz. I calculate the value of the rewards when I will earn them to evaluate how good a deal on a product is, but I don't count them as actual savings until I use them. In any case, it is always about OOP for me, while still trying to get the best rock bottom price.

You could try LRWC/Living Rich with Coupons mourningcloak. She covers deals for tons of stores. When you're on the main page, click on the "Find my Store" icon (top left of screen). Hope that helps!

I also use couponmom, sometimes. She does not have all the latest deals - just the ones that are in the ad and shows what coupons are available and it's free.

mourning cloak - if you don't want to go to the blogs each week to copy down the deals, sign up to receive the emails. Some even let you subscribe to what kind of posts you want to get emails on (or how often to receive the emails). Then you just print your email, grab your coupons and go. Same as the GG, but no cost to do it.

Your original question was whether or not the Grocery Game was worth it. It sounds to me like you might have already decided that the cost would be worth it to you for what they offer. If that is the case, then I say "go for it", but I doubt you'll find anyone here who would advocate spending money to get information about the very best sales on items in any given week when there are so many blogs out there that offer that information for free. Most of the really good, free blogs are updated as information becomes available. You will have to scroll through posts that you're not interested in until you get to the ones for the stores that are available to you, but that takes little time and effort. None of the traditional blogs provide the regular prices of the items they list because regular prices change too frequently. They also do not provide a list of every item that is in the ad, but may be reduced by only $.10, because most people are not interested in phantom sale prices (items promoted as being "on sale" that really are not). Most people using the blogs are looking for rock bottom prices so that they can buy whatever quantity their family will use until the next rock bottom price for that item is offered in the sales cycle of the product. If you are not interested in stocking up on products when they are at their rock bottom price (with or without the use of coupons) and are willing to pay the price for the service, then the Grocery Game might be exactly what you're looking for.

Okay, I don't know who needs to finish up the $10 rebate for P&G right now (not the Covergirl one) but today at CVS I was able to get Venus razor, a 4ct pack, and a olay body wash, after 2 BOGO coupons, a $2 MQ and $7 in EB, for about $3.29 + $10EB back...then at WAGS I did pretty much the same thing except I had $10 in RR and i bought 2 .35 fillers and paid OOP $1.69 + tax and gained back $8 in RR!! I bought so much P& G stuff plus I still have the receipts for the Pantene deal from a few weeks ago, Im gonna be able to do the $10 rebate plus a special mothers day rebate where you spend $30 on P&G products, get back Febreze Home Collection set that consists of Flameless Luminary Lamp, 4 flameless refills, 2 batteries, and no spill wood diffuser, how cool is that? ;D Is that a printable rebate twinmama16? No, I got it at the Commissary that was on a display...I thought it was military only, but the rebate says Thanks Mom and there is nothing on the rebate referring to being military only... As far as my "savings" go since I am being called out on it..I literally paid $1.69OOP at WAGs and received $8RR back and then at CVS I literally paid out $3.xx and got back $10EB I have enough P&G stuff to send for both rebates

And I don't think anyone was calling you out on anything. It just can be confusing when you think about what you're spending. For CVS, you said: "today at CVS I was able to get Venus razor, a 4ct pack, and a olay body wash, after 2 BOGO coupons, a $2 MQ and $7 in EB, for about $3.29 + $10EB" So you spent $7 EB + $3.29 in cash and then got back a $10 EB. That's just about even, only costing you $0.29. For WAGs, you said: "then at WAGS I did pretty much the same thing except I had $10 in RR and i bought 2 .35 fillers and paid OOP $1.69 + tax and gained back $8 in RR!!" So there you spent $10 RR + $1.69 (and tax) in cash and got back $8 RR, so that cost you about $3. Does that make sense? It helps to think of your reward money just like cash.

I did have a subscription to the Grocery Game years ago. It was helpful for figuring out what in the ad was a super great price but IMO I got spammed way too often from that site! I now use LivingRichWithCoupons almost exclusively other than this thread. This thread is more about a group of people sharing info and coupons and less about actually deals than LRWC is. But this thread is also great about if I see a deal on another site but don't understand exactly how it works. Someone here has always been willing and able to explain it to me. LRWC has all of my major stores. I LOVE her section on Shoprite! She always has the deal listed with all coupons and where they came from listed including cellfire, savingstar and insert or IPs. It also has a coupon database. It is very in depth and always up to date. the best part for me is that because she also seems to live in NJ she actually shops at Shoprite so tries out all the deals herself. If you are big on CVS or a drugstore the site might not be as good a fit though. She normally only has listed the "best" deals for them not everything like with Shoprite. I really don't do that much at the drugstores anymore so I am fine with just reading the "best parts" of their sales. If you need more than that I would go to IHeartCVS or some such. Just my 2 cents. I hope you stick around and enjoy the camaraderie!

Great explanation, thank you! And my comment wasn't "calling you out", twin, and I'm sorry I didn't go into the helpful explanation that frugalsuz did. She explains what I was getting at perfectly. As well as your follow up comment that you would use your $10 EB next week, making the razors "free" again. They can be considered free or freap the first purchase, when you earned the EB, or the next purchase, when you use it, but not both.

Savingstar FYI anyone who uses savingstar and Ecoupons like Cellfire or Shoprite Ecoupons be aware that they all now seem to "talk" to eachother. I had some cellfire coupons "clipped" and tried to clip some on Savingstar and it wouldn't let me because it said "they were already being used on another site". I do understand why since they are all really manufacturer coupons but if I had know I would have preferred that I clip the Savingstar ones and not the cellfire ones. The cellfire one NEVER come off like they are supposed to but Savingstar ones always seem to work.

Thanks for all the input! I'll try to check out LRWC. That sounds really similar to what I'm looking for. My trouble just has been coordinating sales with coupons without getting an overabundance of information at the same time. I just don't have enough time to be a serious couponer, checking out dozens of sites, and definitely don't have the room in my little condo to be a true stockpiler, so I'm trying to find better ways to make use of my coupons. I check in and watch you ladies once in a while, but I haven't managed to keep up or comprehend half of it yet! One of these days I'll get there. I think

murphath: Don't feel too badly that there wasn't an excess of Zevia coupons to do the deal at Nob Hill this week. I will drink what I bought because it was free and will be "okay" on a very hot day, BUT they have a very weird and prominent after taste. I did a taste comparison with my fav (Diet Dr. Pepper Cherry). I tasted Dr. Zevia first and then the Diet Dr. Pepper, and the Diet Dr. Pepper tasted like a regular soda in comparison. To my taste, however, Diet Dr. Pepper is the diet soda that tastes most like regular anyway.

I think If you see someone post about a deal that you think you might be interested in, don't be shy about asking them to provide the details. Sometimes it won't pan out if they got their coupons from a source that is not readily available to everyone, but it is highly likely that there is someone else on here who can do the deal.

Just got back from dropping off some excess stockpile stuff at the shelter office. So I feel warm and fuzzy for that. I also unloaded some handwarmers that I won't be needing after our move in 2 months. And DBF won't kill me for trying to move with entire boxes filled with just razors I also had a rebate bonanza in my mail today - I got both my PG rebates back (the Thank You Mom one and the Olympic one) and my rebate from my contacts. I counted them all in the purchase price, but it is nice to pay for things like dry cleaning and gas without it coming out of my bank account

Meijer shoppers: They are having a couple of great catalinas that you can roll from one deal to another. I bought 1 Pantene shampoo $3.33 and 1 Pantene hairspray $4.22 minus $3/2 MQ = $5.08 w/tax. You get a $5.00 catalina. Use that to get 5 Oscar Mayer lunchmeats @ $1.00 each. Pay nothing and get a $4.00 catalina. Use that to buy more Pantene.
Yesterday I spent $11.66 and got 4 Pantenes, 5 Oscar Mayer, 3 Kikoman marinade, 1 lb. butter, 1 ICBINB and and 2 eye of round steaks for $2.83. Kikoman gave a $2.00 catalina after buying 3 and they were free with $2.00 IPQ from last week. I also used a $2.00 off beef when buying 3. ICBINB was free too with $1.25 IPQ and $1.00 mperk. I used the $2.00 cat to buy the lb. of butter. I have $10.00 in catalinas to use next time. They were out of the lunchmeat or I would've done that deal a few more times. This is a great way to finish up the P&G rebate if you need to get a few more items.

Thanks rubyslippers! I'm tempted to do the Kikoman one since it ends on Saturday, but I didn't get the IPQ in time last week.

This is a great way to finish up the P&G rebate if you need to get a few more items. OMG, that kind of promo can be "dangerous". My Safeway used to have what they'd call "savings rallies" annually. They'd have hundreds of participating items. The last time it was buy $30 worth of participating items and you'd get a $10 OYNO Catalina back. Some of the participating items would have their own Catalina deals going at the same time. The rally would last 2-3 weeks and they'd change up a few of the rally items from one week to the next. Throw coupons into the mix and rolling Catalinas and.....well, you can imagine. Afterward, I would have to reorganize my pantry and cabinet space to make room for all the loot. In those days, I didn't have doubled coupons, but I was able to make up for it when they had a savings rally. Sadly, I think the last time they had a savings rally was in 2009. In 2008, they had a Summer Savings Marathon in 2008 to celebrate the summer Olympics. I'm not holding my breath, but it sure would be nice if they'd do "something" in celebration this summer.

dancinmama,
It may not be as great as a rally, but there is a coupon in this Sunday's paper for 3$ off Dr.Pepper WYB Rancher's Reserve beef for Safeway's sunday supplemental ad. Dr. Pepper is 3.33 or 3.67 (per 12 pk) and if you get the smallest package of RR meat, you can get both for under 2$ or less. The coupon is also valid until 6/20.

He is allowed to take "trim" home and the trim is from cutting high grade steaks (New York strip, porterhouse, etc.) so it is great "stuff". He loves the job and is hoping that they will hire him on as an apprentice butcher. Can't outsource that job!!

I was able to print 2/$2 q's from HCW so with the Raleys $1 q, I got 2 6pks for 1.98 + CRV. I bought the Ginger Root Beer and Creme Soda. I can't stand the taste of Dr. Pepper so the Dr. Zeva would be a no go for me. The Creme Soda isn't bad--remind me of summers in Illinois growing up. We always got to have creme soda with Sat. night dinner! With just cherry picking the deals at Raleys, I saved 71%. I loaded up on the Kellogg's frosted mini wheats for DD2 and DH. They love the strawberry and blueberry flavors. Had some q's to bring the price down to $1.49 box which is about as low as I can get those. My savings would have been lower but I had to buy a mango and green pepper to make my Chinese chicken salad and I did not feel like going to the 99 cent store. Besides, Raleys may be expensive but their produce is excellent--the mango was just perfect! Used my $2 Wags RR yesterday to pick up 6 packages of M&M's. Combined with the .50/2 q's, I ended up paying .04. DD2 loves these so she'll be happy. I'll probably do the Dr. Scholl's deal at Target because both DH and DS use those insoles. They are on their feet working long hours and say the Dr. Scholl's are the most comfortable of the insoles. So, they are on sale for $9.99 with a $5 Target gift card wyb2. I'll use 2 of the Target $2 q's combined with 2/$3 5/6/12 SS q's making them half price. I'll probably turn around and get 2 more with more q's and the gift card so that I'll have a supply of 4.
