Do have an open mind and a willingness to listen, if not accept, what you hear. If someone else's words don't conform to your ideas, ask yourself this: "Gee, is this the first time I've disagreed with someone? Is it reeeeeaaaallly worth getting upset with someone I don't know and cannot see, on a virtual playgroundRead more: notmsnmoney.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=fun&action=display&thread=2259&page=3#ixzz1C5VcRHuwETA: LMAO!! I forgot to respond to Nancy's post after I went to the trouble to highlight it. I enjoy the different opinions. For many reasons. I learn and understand people better when I know where they are coming from. Especially when they share their life experience and why they feel as they do. It completely changes my opinion of their strong beliefs and/or it makes say "No wonder they are so crazy!" I missed when all that happened. I'm sorry she left - I like her. My beliefs always run in between everybody's strong ones so I just keep quiet. I come here for fun and have learned who or what to avoid if my buzz starts to get ruined. Suz - I hope after some time away, you will miss us and come back.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or sympathize, Thyme. I'd be the same way. I mean honestly, I think I'm hilarious and that my opinions are generally worth their weight in gold. I couldn't imagine that they wouldn't be missed! But the truth is I'm not the most prolific of posters and I definitely go for days and nobody notices. fuckers.

Hope everything turns out ok for y'all!
I almost hope he actually tries something, but I doubt he will. He just a crybaby little wimp, full of hot air. I'm a martial artist and an expert marksman.

Horati0, you can be mad at buttheads all you want, but all that does in the end is raise your blood pressure. Deleting your account just gives them fuel and adds justification to their butt-headedness (I think I made up a new word there). Stick around and either annoy back (if it's worth it to you) or post on other threads. EE still loves you. And we love Thyme, too.

I just went and read the thread - and I don't see anything that should be so upsetting. She was talking about a friend who was a teacher, and people said they didn't get that impression from their friends who were teachers. Yes, someone said she "sounded miserable" but she responded nicely to that - so I'm not sure which post made it all go wrong.
Was I on the right thread?

Thyme you were on the right thread. I enjoy your posts too but its rare I notice someone is missing unless they post daily and tend to start a lot of threads. I'm sure my absence would be less noticed than yours. I don't think its a one way love thing, just the nature of a message board with lots of posters.

Rick - I don't get the little emoticon with the coffee and paper. Are you posting while taking your afternoon constitutional??
Thyme - I think she deleted most of her posts on that thread, so I really don't know what was said. I didn't see anything worthy of getting into a snit over though.

I left the MSN boards for about a month and no one appeared to notice. I will have to say, it was a little hurtful. I didn't think it would be, but I guess I didn't realize how important this community was until I found out the love was one-sided. Actually, people did notice. Someone even started a thread asking where you were.

I did see that someone started a thread right after the announcement came out. Thank goodness I came back in time to see the announcement.
As far as the PM's - good thing we have that function now.

Maybe the "Does God Exist" thread ticked her off. I didn't read that from her perspective - but I know she is religious.

I left the MSN boards for about a month and no one appeared to notice. Thyme, i have posted on a minimum of 5 msn boards on a regular basis, and no one ever noticed when i took a break either. yet others could be gone for 30 min and people would wonder 'where is so and so?' i often felt invisible <shrug> such is life...

First of all that thread would have been moved to outer space, or deleted, if it appeared on the old boards. There is no way in hell that subject can be discussed without causing tension and in this case hurt feelings. I may have been considered a SOB of a mod, but this is a perfect example of a subject/thread that I personally would have at the very least locked. These forums are not the place to discuss the subject and you just saw a perfect example of why.
Years ago there was a thread on Your Money with Picnic in the subject line. All the crazies (and I say that fondly) posted to the thread which grew to a huge amount of posts. MM was one of the original posters. After a while we thought it would be best to allow the posters a place post off topic conversations and that's how the EverythingElse board became popular.
I don't care who you are if you joined the MSN boards you quickly found out which boards would suit your personal interests. If you posted to the MSN EE board you knew right away that 99% of the posts had nothing to do with finances and often meandered though subjects. So now the EE board is here and nothing has changed except for the looser rules and moderating. I can't feel sorry for anyone who isn't quick enough to figure this is the last place for a serious conversation.
Suzi is a nice person, but Suzi needs to understand that this forum may not be the best place for her opinions. I followed the thread and knew the you know what would hit the fan.
I've often rolled my eyes and cringed at some of the messages posted over the years. Many messages stayed on the MSN EE board because while they were eye rollers they did not cross the Code of Conduct.
My feeling is, if you post to the Everything Else forum grow a thick skin. This isn't the first time a poster has been shocked enough to drop out of the boards and it will not be the last time. There is a need for a board like this because it keeps the off topic stuff out of the other boards...... keeps peace so to speak.
Let me add...... don't expect to be baby sat the way you were on the old boards. Mods are not going to intervene as often as the MSN mods. Isn't going to happen and it's not fair to expect the current mods to pick up where the old ones left off.
Suzi, I hope you come back...... I really do.

I understand things get out of hand, and I understand what are really touchy subjects - I knew that thread would tick someone off - I guess I just don't actually see what was said that was so hurtful that she took her ball and went home. Is it mearly the fact that so many just don't really care? I didn't understand the tangent on horrible parenting/her cranky kindergarten-teacher/friend. Was that a plea to bear less children or more?
I just didn't see the issue. Sure, she deleted her posts, but the rest of them are there. So unless she was embarrased by her own posts, why delete them?

Hey thanks - it is good to know that when people beg for love and affection, you guys rally around and pretend like you were loving and affectionate the whole time.

I am serious! You were missed and there WERE people (myself included) that asked where you went off to. I thought you got perma banned for telling a poster off (I can't remember now who you told off before you took a break).

Maddawg: I have a jerk from the MSN TV board that stalked me to my MySpace account. He sent a ranting email to who it thought was my boss (since I'm the boss it came to me), trying to get me fired. Today, he escalated by calling my wife twice, threatening her and me. We're taking it to the police. There are some real nut-jobs out there.
We had the same thing happen a while back and to be honest I am stunned that anyone would take a 'monitor' that serious. Ya, the computer screen we all read...... I mean, really, a majority of the time the only personal interaction is with a computer screen. This particular nut case did the same thing and caused a lot of trouble for one poster and failed with another.
The core of the issue here is the lax attitude many of you have with your memberships on social networks. Your names are out there, your photos, your kids names and husbands names, job descriptions and name of employers........ Hell, why not publish how many times you pee a day?? All of you are way too trusting! If you make an effort to keep your personal information private be assured you can't depend on your friends to do the same. Once you post on the internet it's there for anyone to see.
Mad, I'm really sorry about your situation and good for you taking it to the police.
