New Haven, CT has the best pizza in the country! Chopped fresh clams with olive oil, garlic and mozzarella. Excellent.

I like the Papa Murphy's take and back. Also like the Boboli (both the crust and the sauce). As far as toppings, lots of veggies, not too much cheese, a bit of pepperoni and I'm happy.

Tony and Lucille's too.
I think I had the clam pizza at Pepe's. I used to live a block away from Pepe's and Tony and Lucille's.

My favorite would be pepperoni, followed by either sausage or hamburger. I'm partial to the thin crusts, but not many places make them around here. ( I don't count Domino's or Pizza Hut.) However, when it's made well, you can't beat a plain old cheese pizza from brick oven. Where in NY are you?? I work in Queens, NYC. We have one brick-oven place near by that's great, but they don't deliver. When the company buys pizza on Saturdays here, they use a different place that does deliver. They make a good crust, but everything is too oily. A little oil is good, but not so much that you can lube a car. I live in Long Island, and I have 2 places in walking distance from home that are really good. No thin crusts, and they have regular ovens, but they both do a great job.

I will eat ANY pizza that has a thin crust. My favs are Hawaiian and vegetarian (olives, mushroom, onions, green peppers, artichokes, spinach) - the more vegies the better.
For grocery store pizza - CA Pizza Kitchen is pretty darn good.

I make my own pizza dough from a recipe I found in a Penzey's spice catalog. The dough uses 12 ounces of beer. But even with that, it does NOT look like Moonbeam's pizza. That's a big-butt crust on steroids!!!!!

There are some decent places in Queens, but they're hard to find. I can't remember a bad pizza I ever got in Manhattan, but I rarely get there these days. I used to go years ago for job related reasons, but that was almost 20 years ago.

I like a pizza with roasted seasoned potatoes, chicken, bacon, and a little feta cheese, white sauce. When I worked in a pizza place we had an awesome pan crust--there was a little molasses in the dough and it was so, so yummy! Our stuffed crust was stuffed with provolone cheese and then we put garlic olive oil on it and sprinkled it with parmesan cheese, one of the few stuffed crusts I liked. I found Nancy's beer dough recipe on the old boards and copied it, but I don't know if it has got posted yet--I still have a few hundred recipes to transfer...

I also worked in the Bronx for about 5 years in the early 90's, and you're both right. The best part was I worked with a couple of Bronx-born guys who knew exactly THE best places for pizza. Now I'm getting hungry. After all this pizza talk, my little ham sandwich from lunch is just a distant unfulfilled memory.

All this pizza talk is making me crave one. I have a pizza dough recipe, but I just looked up some other ones online that sound like they might be even better. Now tomorrow's dinner is in the planning which means I have to go to the store and get some toppings & cheese - fresh veggies plus meats sliced at the deli counter (none of that packaged stuff). Mmmmmmmm

Ummm, I actually order mine without cheese. I prefer a sicilian with extra sauce, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers or broccoli.
There is a pizzeria in Soho that has a marinana pie at the counter, and I just have them throw mushrooms on it.....mmmmmmm.

One I've always meant to make is Chili Cheesedog Pizza. Regular pizza crust, chili instead of marinara, slice up some hot dogs and cover with cheese.

Thin crust, roasted red peppers, goat cheese and sprinkled with garlic salt is my favourite.

Regular pizza crust, chili instead of marinara, slice up some hot dogs and cover with cheese. that sounds pretty good, actually. well, minus the hotdogs for me. use cheddar cheese, and maybe toss some crushed corn chips on top with the cheese. hmm...I may have to try that some time, thanks. sometimes in the summer, when I've made too much pico de gallo, I'll use that for sauce and do up a fajita pizza. fajita-spiced grilled chicken and veggies, pepper jack/cheddar blend cheese.

I actually like anchovies on my pizza. I like the saltiness. There is a local pizza place near work that makes a terrific Grandma Pizza made with very thin sliced tomatoes with fresh mozzarella slices, it has a nice chewy flat crust.

I make a great Buffalo Chicken Pizza -- a thin layer of bleu cheese dressing, chicken breasts roasted and then tossed in buffalo sauce, and mixed mexican blend cheese

There's a pizza place near my work that has buffalo chicken pizza, along with 6 or 7 other kinds. I have that once a week. Just once slice though, with a side salad, so it's healthy, right? (Never mind the bleu cheese dressing on the salad. )

Normally, a 'garbage' pizza with everything on it.
The delivery pizza place across the street has a $9 special on their large pizzas with 2 toppings, so I got sausage and mushroom. YUM!

I miss working at the pizza shop! I used to make my own pizzas all the time, and I always made a buffalo chickenless pizza. I would spread wing around the dough like I would the sauce and top with our cheese blend and cook. When it comes out of the oven, I'd give it a swirl of bleu cheese. I want one!
