Snerd: Your advice is good. And I am addressing all aspects at this point. At least, I think so..... between dr's and therapists (since I don't think I'm dealing like I should be) and even looking into switching up careers.
It's anxiety/depression issues coupled with a shitty workplace, crap schedule, and actual medical issues. I'm in the testing stages now for both cardiac related issues, additional autoimmunes, and cervical cancer (as of last week).
The crap workplace has to do with both issues with management not doing what they should, but lack of ethics. The schedule is bouncing back and forth between days and nights and working anywhere from 12-24 hour shifts. None of which was part of the original job description. It was EITHER nights or days. Which is fine, as long as I can maintain a normal sleep schedule....but at this point it's the whim of the supervisor as to when I get hours (even being fulltime), so often, I work a day shift and then the following day I'm on a night shift.
Either way, at this point, the solution is that I will be going part-time. This allows me to work the open hours (what my sup has me doing anyway), while still being able to chose which shifts I can work taking into account both my medical issues and my sleep issues. It's not the best fix, but it seems to be a happy medium between my husband who wants me to quit, and me who doesn't see the point in losing money I could have earned before the move.

LilBit - good luck with part-time. I hope you can find a happy balance. And just think, only a few more months of part-time and then hopefully you can start "new" when you move. Best of luck!!!

Day shift followed by night shift? 12- 24hr shifts? Except for the 24 hour part it sounds like what my former schedule sounded like. I recall journaling: "My work schedule feels like a four year old playing with a light switch". I also recall talking to my sup and hearing: "Life? You've been working here for how many years?" and on to recapitulate working hours were at the discretion of the employer. I repeated that to a co-worker later who immediately responded with "I am not a slave!" All that said (along with my earlier commentary) I will simply add it is of course your decision and I think you have made the best decision for yourself. Part-time will/should decrease the stress to a point you can handle. Cardiac and autoimmune issues are nothing to sniff about. Take care of yourself. All of us will be around here someplace. . . to talk with.. . play devil's advocate . . . you know what I'm saying.
