is the first surgical appointment I can get to get my hip replaced again. I was hoping that I could get in a month earlier.
Surgeon won't let me fly for 6 weeks, so will likely be out here until mid-June.
Really, REALLY hoping that someone cancels and I can slip in before then.
<provided my bone scan comes up clean next week.....fingers crossed>

Fingers crossed for a clean scan and a cancellation. I know you've been waiting forever and hurry up and wait I think is the worst part.

I had a perfectly functioning hip replacement I received nearly 5 years ago infected by a massive iliopsoas abscess. Treatment is to take out the prosthesis and hit me with massive antibiotics.
I'm coming to the end of my antibiotic treatment. I have a body scan next week, which looks for infection, I go off of antibiotics for a period of time and the surgeon aspirates my joint(s) to make sure that there is no more infection, then they replace the hip.
At this point, I can't imagine having a live microbe left in my body! 10 weeks of IV antibiotics 3x/day along with another oral antibiotic has probably wiped me out!

That sounds horrible. Hoping for a clean scan & an early cancellation. And a speedy recovery after that.
