As a pre-teenager I wouldn't listen to any politician speak. Even as an adult, my eyes sometimes glaze over and my mind wanders elsewhere...

while I appreciate that the father wanted his kid to learn about current events and such, that's a little over the top.

Dad obviously has some anger issues and needs some professional help. (or jail time if this is a pattern.)

Wow this is funny. I would whack either of my sons if I found them listening to Obama. Of course they are much older than 11 so they know better than to listen to him. I do have to wonder about those that do listen to him....But then I guess Marx told bedtime stories too.

Are you saying your boys would deserve to be whacked because they weren't "mini-mes"?

Growing up at my Moms place, on Sundays all my older siblings (I'm the youngest of 10) would show up with kids in tow. Political discussion ruled my house, but you had to have your own educated opinion or else get slammed in debate. I'm glad I was raised in a home where free thinking was encouraged. Thanks Mom, Love You

Is this an anti Obama or anti Muslim thread? Well, I never brought up Islam- I didn't see any mention of the man's religion, if any, in the article. He does have a traditional Muslim name, but then so does our good Christian President.

Is this an anti Obama or anti Muslim thread? LOL!! I think it may be a pro-choice thread. That kid should have clearly been aborted.

Well, there are so many nutballs out there. Yahoo had a story this morning about a mom and grandmom who became so incensed that a grade school child stole some forbidden snack that they had her run until she collapsed. The kid is no longer with us. When you are a psycho-freak, any excuse will do. Obviously the kid will be the Young Republican of the future. And I doubt the kid was just "bruised" in his face. This would not be serious enough to go to a hospital and even if it did, probably would not attract enough attention for doctors to be calling in abuse complaints. The kid was hurt. So you are saying you have to be abused as a kid to become a republican?

I'll go with B). For those of us who read P&M and EE I think we would have started this thread on EE if we started it at all as its just another example of a parent abusing a child. Luckily it is much less harsh than the Texas story of 10 kids tied to beds or the one TT mentioned about the girl run to death as a punishment.

Oy, Paul.
I've got to admit that even for you this is plumbing the depths.
If you want to criticize Pres. Obama, set your sights on his (quite literally) insane first draft 2013 budget—shot down in flames by divine mercy—rather than an angry father with a coffee mug.
