- candidate for IL State Senate is supposed to be at several campaign events. He is not. He is instead at my grandma's bedside as she is likely to die today from emphysema. His campaign staff has called us asking if we need anything?
I just thought I'd post it- it's not just that it's personal, it's that I found a candidate for office that is actually human- with a soul and everything.
I'm only sorry I can't vote for him.
Well, it IS Illinois, so maybe I can. I'm just not going to because you know- the law, honor, integrity-- those little things.

my sympathies, Paul. we lost FIL a couple of years ago. it is never easy. but may she have all the comfort that God can provide.

PBP my sympathies to you and your family. Grandparents always have a special corner in our hearts. They are so much a part of our lives. One thing I found to help the healing as my grandparents passed, I started a little diary and as I remembered the things they taught me about life I wrote them down and there were many. My most treasured little book of valued memories.

Well, grandma died peacefully in her sleep this morning around 1:30 a.m. - at least that's when my brother called me to tell me. We're on our way back down to southern, IL soon.

My condolances, paul. It is always hard to lose a loved one, but remember, she is in a better place now. Was Minor her Pastor?
