...........none of which were mentioned in this thread before this post..... It's in the title: TEA Party. Maybe you're unfamiliar, so let me help you: i am familiar with the acronym, thanks. it was coined by Ron Paul, i believe. for a guy with tax concerns you sure spend a whole lot of time blathering on about party identity and social issues.

Not only are we going to New Hampshire ... we're going to South Carolina and Oklahoma and Arizona and North Dakota and New Mexico, and we're going to California and Texas and New York. And we're going to South Dakota and Oregon and Washington and Michigan. And then we're going to Washington, D.C. To take back the White House. YEEEAAAAHHHHH! I used to think the tea party would disappear as soon as Obama does- but I think now the TP is the home of the far right Limbaugh types that are pissed off that the GOP isn't conservative enough- and I don't think they will go away until they purge the party of those they see as centrists, or rinos, or or anyone that would dare compromise with a democrat on anything. Deep roots for sure- all the way back to the gilded age.

Why don't they just become Democrats?
Because democrats use government to fix problems. Republicans used to turn to the market system to fix problems. In the past both worked together to achieve a center ground where they could agree on a government regulated market system to fix problems. Now republicans pretend to depend on the market while pushing a conservative social agenda that only has buying from about 20% of the population. Democrats now pretend that regulation and government can fix all. Neither even attempt to work with each other anymore. You like bringing up Reagan, he tended to work very well with his polar opposite, Tip O'Neil. Both realized that their success depended in large part to the other. What has been the republican party for the best part of the last 100 years was made up AND made successful by what today's republicans call RINOs.
There are plenty of us. Over 90% of the delegates have yet to be chosen.
Whatever, I can wait. In a couple of months Newt and Santorum will be gone and Romney will be on his way the the general election.
There's only one thing that happens to people who stand in the middle of the road.
That's right, they have the flexibility to move a bit to the right or left depending on the needs of the country. They are under no pressure to say to the right or left until an un-American bus runs them over.

The tea party is an Ideology that is becoming more palatable to more voters. And now that Obama has submitted a budget that is already being described full of accounting gimmicks, the tea party idea will gain supporters if true.

They are under no pressure to say to the right or left until an un-American bus runs them over. this is precisely what i think, zip. if a president is so idealogical that he can't possibly compromise, then he will, in effect, NEVER be on the side of half the Americans he is presumably representing. there is something fundamentally wrong with that.

Actually, I listened to Rush for awhile to day and the new boogie man, according to Dick Morris is "Republicans are going to take away your birth control because they hate women." Obama must have taken a nose dive with women.

Come on, the tea party was hi-jacked by the GOP a long time ago. There once was a great ideal and when man\woman tried to implement it, it became corrupted. Tea party is a joke, they elected Nickey Haley and she supported Romney. The tea party movement originated from Ron Paul's grass roots campaign in 2008 and we had RP supporters going running for state and federal office before the "Tea Party' name was introduced into the public.

The Tea Party has faded since the August debt deal fiasco. If you're a liberal, you ignore me at your peril. Just because you don't read TEA Party news on the front page, or CNN isn't talking about it-- doesn't mean it is 'fading'. The TEA Party is stronger than ever- because we occupy elective offices, not a tent in a park somewhere. We might have put away the signs and banners, but that's because as conservatives, we don't hang out and pee on ourselves in public. We go to work. The Tea Party is alive and well, thank you. Since we have gotten to the Republican primaries, the major media has been having too much fun attacking each individual that was/is running for the Presidency. They have not had time to waste chasing the elusive Tea Party members who are busy every week (obvious to actually everyone watching the election results) sending Romney a message, get with the program, or get out of the way for Santorum. We are very busy right now, and wait until this fall. The Democrats will not see it coming. Just as Diverdown has his cyber 2 by 4, the President and his followers are in for the shock of their lives. You know, like Oprah, who discovered people are fickle, and will not follow your ramblings forever.

You have to first have a job to owe tax to then evade it, don't you?

Come on, the tea party was hi-jacked by the GOP a long time ago. you mean co-opted? that is very common with fringe movements.

They were until the establishment hopped on the train and crashed it. The tea party originally spawned from Ron Paul and his principles.

I never told her she couldn't post here. I stated my opinion about the value of the posts to this board.
My response will largely be the same to further antics on this board of similar nature.
It seems that when I post in response to personal attacks, that my posts are hovered over for deletion. I've noticed others up for a couple days before my action has resulted in the deletion of the original insult in addition to mine.
Unfortunately, it's come to that.
