We go to our local high school games. My DH is the asst. boys basketball coach and has a pass that enables both of us to get into all sporting events. Good thing we both love sports! Our DS and his wife live next door so we get together occasionally for dinner and a netflix movie or dinner and card games.

It totally depends on the time of year for me. In the spring, summer and earlier in the fall, I live outdoors. I'm always puttering around doing yard work, etc. I love to be outdoors. I take my portable DVD player outside some evenings and watch a movie, with a drink.
In the later fall and winter, there isn't much to do. I can't stand cold weather (absolutely, positively hate it) so I putter around in the house. This used to be the time I would get out the painting stuff and go to town, but realized it wasn't the best time to be letting paint fumes fly around. Since I do so much DIY stuff, my tv is almost always on HGTV. That's where I get a lot of ideas from, and then I figure out how to do my personal spin on things. Unfortunately, all of my friends are married, and after 2 strikeouts, I am absolutely not into looking for someone to do things with, so I spend alot of time by myself when I'm not at work. A do alot of reading and surfing the net. I refuse to pay more for cable to have the priviledge of renting movies on it, so I pretty much either watch something that's on or watch a movie. There is pretty much nothing around her to do for free, so not a lot of options. I have allergies, so can't really volunteer to help with animals, which is something I would dearly love to do. My pup is hypoallergenic, so he works out great.

We're movie lovers around here. We love: 1. Netflex Actually, the boys are the one with the account. I don't watch with them all that often. Our tastes don't always coincide. 2. The dollar cinema I love this place. Actual price is closer to $2 but compared to $12? They have dollar hot dogs, which with a bottle of water of home brings this "dinner and a movie" to a whopping $5. 3. Hulu I'm the one who loves Hulu. You can't beat free and there's always something on my subscription list to watch. If the boys would give up cable I'd do the premium Hulu thing and hook it up to the TV.
I live in a metro area so there are lots of galleries, museums, and other things. It's not so much finding frugal fun but deciding on which one.

Our last fun day, we took advantage of the free admission to National Parks and went to Fort McHenry and looked around. Neat history lessons.
We look at Stumbled Upon's website and have a good laugh. Also look at funny YouTube videos.
Visit the library.
Visit the museums on their free days.
Rent from Redbox.
Have potluck dinners.
Go to the theater on a "pay what you will night".
Go to free church events such as concerts and plays.
Go to the pet store and look at the animals.

We also do board game night.
We also borrow movies or TV series from the local library.
In the spring/summer/fall there's great hiking trails.
We do "potluck" dinners where everyone brings a dish to pass.
We buy a yearly membership to the local museum for $50 -- it not only gets us in one museum but they have a deal where you can get in to other local museums for free as well. We see about 12 shows a year this way so it's well worth it.

How could I forget?!?!?! I have a friend that lives on the lake with a hot tub, sauna, snow mobiles in the winter and boat in the summer. AND he loves to cook! He's out of town though so it costs a few dollars in gas.

My DH and I love to go thrift store shopping. Tomorrow we're going to a huge flea market in our area.

I love the laptop idea to watch a movie outside!!!! (my fiance has a little portable projector so if we get a heavy white sheet, we could watch movies on our balcony and BBQ burgers for dinner).
we also have a park by our house with tennis courts (free) a BB court and a nice paved 1/4 paved path so when the weather is warm and we have cabin fever, we will go down and spend some time in the park.
for girls night we stay in... watch a few movies and cook together... (and its cheaper to make your own drinks than to pay $7 a pop each).

On Sabbath afternoon, once every two weeks when DS1 is home from the Israeli army, DD1 and I join him for a game or two of Hearts. It's competitive at times, intense at others, but always fun.
