I get together with friends for a night of card or board games. BYOB, and we pitch in for pizza.

I take lunch every friday with a friend at work. We go to pizza hut for the lunch buffet, which has a card where 5 punches (visits)= a free lunch. The cash register guy seems to like us, as he gives extra punches. Works out to every 3rd lunch free. I always get water, so I pay around $5 total when I don't get free lunch. ; )

I like to do hot put night/game board night with friends. Costs can add up but it's fun and we are in the comfort of our own home. What we just started is a 52 Week challenge. We each wrote down 21 things we wanted to do (mixed free/frugal things with some more pricey events) and each week, we draw one to accomplish. So far, we've gone to the Zoo ($35), spent an evening w/o electronics ($0), and this week will be visiting a temple up in the hills ($0) of nearby city for a wonderful view of the bay. Oh, and DBF and I play Zombie mode on Call of Duty. Game and system costs money but the hours of fun we rack up on that thing makes it worth it and we stay home and don't spend money.

When the weather is nice my DH, friends and I LOVE to go hiking and explore new areas. DH an I live on a new bike trail that goes through 8 miles of horse farms, so we like to walk or bike that on weekend afternoons. Walking to the park with a soccer ball and a few friends always = a good time.
During the winter, we will have games nights, dinners at each others houses, midnight bowling. This year I bought the entertainment coupon book for practically nothing, and it has already paid for itself. Also, we will buy a gift certificate at Restaurant.com when they're having a $1.00 sale, then go out to eat with friends, and everyone splits the leftover cost (usually comes out to about $5.00/person after gratuity, for a very nice meal!)

This weekend I'm going skating on the local lake. When Survivor is on it is girls night with a couple of girl friends. We alternate houses and the hostess provides snacks.

When weather permits, we will downsteam a Netflix on DH's computer and set it up outside on a table next to the portable fire pit. We have a beautiful fire going, stars overhead, and watch our movie while roasting marshmallows and having a hot drink. It's kind of like an old school drive in.

I enjoy just staying in. Once baseball season comes around, I really do enjoy watching the games. Every so often I'll wander down to the sports bar for happy hour prices and watch the game with fellow fans. Other than that, being a movie buff, Netflix is by far the greatest thing ever.

I'm goig to try it this summer! DH and I have a hammock between trees at the back of our yard (which backs up t oa corn field)- how perfect it would be to lay in the hammock next to a fire, smell the sweet smell of corn, and watch a movie snuggled up to my love! Thanks for the idea!

My kids are little (4 & 2) so they are easy to entertain. They love to go for a weekend to their grandparents, have cousins over to play, etc. I also take them to the library once a week for new books and movies. Why I ever paid for kids movies is beyond me....so glad I figured it out. The boys love to play with the toys at the library while I find them books and movies to take home. Took them to see their cousin play basketball. They got to sit by their uncle who is a coach - they were in heaven! Simple things......

...true that... but he is a long time business man/entertainer in this industry, who has presumably hired and fired countless entertainers and wannabes, and is unlikely to hold any punches in his commentary... so while I doubt he'll be the new "Simon," he may be the new hatchet man... who smiles widely as he chops...

I take my puppy to babysit my girlfriend's 5 year old. Then I sit back and watch the two of them chase each other around. Hours of fun right there!

It's not that the work has been done, just done so badly! Then the make up. And the hair. I wasn't into Motley Crew look even in the '80's. They haven't improved with age.

...okay, I'll vote another frugal fun night idea could be digging up old internet pictures of celebrities and seeing how they've changed over time... laughter = $0.00... pepto bismol = $0.25/dose...

The other night I was watching a Youtube video of F.L. Wright's Falling Water and that video led me to his appearance on the old show What's My Line. I sat there and hit on a lot of the other old What's My Line shows. Ava Gardner, Eva Gabor, Carol Burnett were fun to watch. And FREE!

I have fun starting arguments on message boards with anonymous strangers! SNERDLY: Yes you do! But it comes across as rather impish, not malicious. It is my free entertainment!

Our community calendar has loads of free or low cost stuff. That is beyond what has already been posted.

I live in a town where the local library, high school & park district offer free or cheap (<$5) concerts & plays.
Library also has free or $1 movies.

The cabin's front porch in the summer, near sunset with a glass of white wine, my DW, the sun on the tree tops, or cooking a new recipe, reading a good book from the library, fishing (costs only a license), riding my bike, watching the Steelers play, going to bed with my DW.
