Should the federal govt step in and put an end to this price gouging of the middle class fan base? Where is the outrage, they hysteria, the panicking... __________________________________________________ music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=700343Madonna on her high-priced concert tickets: 'I'm worth it' Feb. 2, 2012, 11:02 AM EST WENN Pop superstar Madonna doesn't sympathize with fans who grumble about the escalating price of her concert tickets. She says they should "start saving" their money because she's "worth it." Tickets for the singer's live shows are always in high demand, allowing promoters to list them at premium prices, despite some complaints from devotees about having to dig deep to afford mediocre seats. But Madonna, who is planning to hit the road later this year, is unconcerned because she guarantees ticketholders will have a good time at her gigs. She tells Newsweek magazine, "Start saving your pennies now. People spend $300 on crazy things all the time, things like handbags. So work all year, scrape the money together, and come to my show. I'm worth it." The forthcoming tour will be in support of her new album, "MDNA," which will be released in March.

LOL. True.
You can't help but shake your head in disbelief when people whine about things like this being too expensive. Here's a thought...don't go!

Let her charge $1000 for a ticket won't matter to me. I wouldn't pay $40 to see one of her concerts

I thought she was gone too until I heard she was going to be doing the halftime show at the Super Bowl this weekend. I can only assume it will be another horrible show to add to the string of poor halftime shows they seem to have every year.

I'm always amazed that people buy tickets for this kind of stuff. Each ticket buys her another syringe of botox so pay up!

Apples = price of product, in this case Madonna tickets Oranges = Madonna's "wages" You = mixing apples and oranges
I don't care what she sells them for. The only problem I might have if is she paid all her help low wages when they deserve more money. Oh, and Madonna probably won't get bailed out and can't really give herself a golden parachute. Plus, you can't have Madonna without Madonna, but you replace Mr. Greedy CEO with another CEO. And if Mr. CEO doesn't like it, he can start his own multi-platinum recording career, eh?
No, that post is just pure sanctimonious rationalization. "If Madonna can raise the price of her tickets, why can't CEOs give themselves a big pay raise every year?!?" Did you figure out yet that part of the problem is how little the workers get paid? That's the golden ticket.
How's the Excessive Hypebole Tour been going? Not well, since nobody's buying that. And a Conservative pointing out manufactured outrage is laughable.

I'm old & old fashioned....I wouldn't bother to walk across the street to listen to most "modern day" singers/musicians. Nothing since the Beatles hit the big time in 1964 w/I wanna hold your hand!....I HATE that song! And I'm only talking about rock/rap...that kind of junk.

Yeah, they sure don't write them like this any more : we've been rocking the "solid gold oldies" station on comCRAP while we install the hardwood flooring at my condo this past week - I've never seen that video before a couple days ago, and damn....that's not at all what I pictured this guy looking like. and I've said that about quite a few singers whose very excellent songs grace that channel.

This is about the BOK center in Tulsa OK. after it opened it was the second highest grossing concert venue in the WORLD (yea I know in Tulsa right?) And it was opened in 2008 right in the middle of the great recession... The numbers show why cities must foot the bill for entertainment venues because there is no way a business can make a profit.....

They should force Madonna to do free concerts for the poor. They can make doctors work for free.

Banks are a necessary evil, Madonna not so much. Banks are necessary? Yep they are. Ever try to buy a house and pay in cash? How about cashing checks? Credit card anyone? Granted if you live in a cave, off the grid you don't need banks...much.

I've had a savings account for 32 years, a checking account 18 years. I have a mortgage, student loans, and a car loan. I don't think I've ever felt taken advantage of by a bank.
1. If you don't like bounced check fees? Don't bounce checks. Learn to do simple math or use a calculator. I know silly concept. 2. If you're against high interest rates because your credit is shot. Pay your bills. See also Step #1.
I really don't see what the problem is.

Right. Don't you find your mattress gets lumpy and uncomfortable? Nope, I keep less than 1% of my assets in banks. (none in the mattress) So you do use the bank and you don't hide your money in the mattress. Do you find that cash money takes up a lot of room in your freezer?

Do you find that cash money takes up a lot of room in your freezer? I use 3 local banks as convenience only. The cash in the house is in a small hidden safe. Credit cards = convenience. Debt level = $0. Asset level = low to mid 8 figure. You won't find me confused with convenience versus necessity.

There are certain activities that necessitate having a bank account. Have you ever tried to rent a car without a credit card? Have you ever tried to order something over the internet and pay cash? Not many (pretty much zero) employers are willing to pay you cash. Not many people will sell their house to someone paying cash. Need I go on?
