Santas watching so tread easily with naughty answers. This is about food and no extras. Why does everything seem so much better with whipped cream and cherries? Like on top of an ice cream sundae. What is the one item you will not have on hand that is crucial for Xmas dinner?

we won't be having Christmas dinner at all. I think DH bought some pork chops to cook on the grill. Other than going out for a run or a walk, I don't plan on leaving the house ETA: as far as whipped cream & cherries...I only like FRESH cherries! Can't stand those nasty maraschino cherries

Whatever you eat close to Xmas is Xmas dinner!
I found out DH didn't like the marachino cherries on the choc. cov. cherry brownies. It tastes nothing like real choc. cov. cherries.

I LOVE cherries! They're awesome on or in anything. Especially chocolate covered ;D

There are just some things that go together and aren't quite right separately:
whipped cream and cherries
homemade biscuits and sausage gravy
cornbread and pot liquor
sunny windowsills and kitties
frisbees and dogs

Have you had a whole grain toasted bagel with honey nut cream cheese? Oh, one of my faves but on the banned list.
What is pot liquor? Moonshine? Homemade Apple Pie?

pot liquor is the liquid that vegetables are cooked in...you don't drain the liquid off, you put everything in a bowl and sop the liquid with cornbread or biscuits
