Cops: Father killed 3-year-old in washing machine
Man was punishing his son for misbehaving in nursery school, according to reports

French police charged a man with murder this week after he allegedly put his 3-year-old son into a washing machine and turned it on, according to reports.

Neighbors said the man was punishing the boy, named Bastien, for misbehaving at nursery school, Le Parisien (link in French) newspaper reported.

Christophe Champenois, 33, was charged with "murder of a minor" and the mother charged with failing to prevent a crime and assist someone in danger, the AFP reported. Both were denied bail.

The incident occurred in the city of Meaux, which is around 25 miles northeast of Paris.

Bastien reportedly died from a blow to the head, a source close to the case told The Telegraph newspaper. A neighbor said the boy's mother came to her for help after the incident on Friday.

"I took the little boy in my arms, he was frozen, completely naked," the neighbor, who only gave her first name Alice, told the Telegraph.

"He was all white, limp, practically like a toy," she said.

Le Parisien quoted the boy's grandmother as saying Bastien was an "unwanted child" and that Champenois had gone drinking with his friends the day he was born.

Bastien had been locked in the washing machine on other occasions, Le Parisien reported.

And here is another example of people who should not have been allowed to have children.

If he was an unwanted child abort, put him up for adoption or leave the douchebag who doesn't want the kid. You don't bring a child into the world only to suffer at the hands of his sperm donor.

Both should fry. His "father" for committing the crime and his "mother" for putting him in the situation in the first place.

Every story I've read lately about a child being killed at the hands of their sperm donor (had a local one a few months ago), the mothers knew the guys had tried to harm the children and they let them be around the children unsupervised. They may not have murdered the child but they are not innocent.

When you have a child, their wellbeing comes first. You brought the child into the world, it deserves to be protected and raised well. I don't really give a shit if sperm donor is the love of your life, children come first.

Yesterday I read a story on CNN about a Pakistani woman who murdered her husband bc he wanted a physical relationship with their daughter. She did what she felt she had to do to protect her daughter. And in a country like that it is probably one of the few options she has to protect her daughter. Right or wrong she didn't stand by and let him rape their daughter.

In American prison at least word has a way of getting out about those who hurt children. Even criminals have a code and harming children goes against it.

Things like this make me sick in my stomach.

Getting ready for work this morning I heard on the news that a woman who had let her 2 year starve to death was being sentenced today. When the child died, she weighed 14 lbs. My first thought was to hope they don't bother to waste my tax dollars keeping her isolated from the rest of the population - unless of course they forget to feed her. When times were tight, I skipped meals to ensure my children got enough to eat. That this blubber butt (opinion based on the mugshot they shoed) willfully starved her child just makes my blood boil.

Belive it. Go to work for CPS for a year. Stuff like this and worse happens.
I hope a times comes when only the most fitting couples are allowed to have children.

I knew someone that was a social worker. He always had the best weed.

I think there's always been a sick segment of society, we just hear more about it now. My mother did a few years of social work in the late 60s. There are a couple of stories she told me that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Just horrible things people did to their children. And I know what she shared was only the tip of the iceberg.

They need to develop a shot that sterilizes people and can be reversed. Give it to everyone when they start kindergarten. A person can only apply for reversal by meeting certain criteria. They must be over a certain age, employed, in a steady relationship, no drugs or arrests for major crimes, take a course in child rearing, and undergo an evaluation to see if there are rage issues. There can not be an excuse for child abuse. We need drastic changes!

Sad part is, little kids don't misbehave unless there is something wrong -- hungry, tired, overstimulated, stressed, sick, learning disability, etc.

Nursery school teachers should know this. Obviously, this little boy's teacher(s) dropped the ball. He/She clearly didn't think to investigate why this child was "misbehaving". She/He might have saved this little boy's life if she/he had...

They just arrested the Father of a 2 yr old yesterday that threw her in the river, car seat and all. He, of course, is charged with Murder. He was upset over a custody issue.

My hubby and I were sitting down to dinner last night at the local Black-eyed-pea. A couple walked in with 5 lil one's.. They are Foster Parents.. They have adopted 2 and not sure if they will the other 3. The 3 are syblings. They were taken from the parents for abuse and they were put into a Foster home and taken from them because they burned them with cigarettes.

Can you imagine? And these were suppose to be Foster Parents? They were clearly in it for the money.. You get about $800 per kid... Those kids were so sweet...

So, what should be the punishment for the Foster Parents (#1)? I say burn them with cigs... see how they like it!

It devastated my neighbor so much that she refused to again take in children.
I've learned that not all foster parents are bad and CPS isn't always good.

I agree Lonewolf.. that is so sad.. CPS has this thing about getting the kids back to their parents if at all possible. All they do is go thru the motions/paperwork.. Parents go thru classes.. once complete, they get the kiddos back. And 9 of out 10, they shouldn't.

My Best Friend adopted her 3 nieces and nephews. Her niece is By-polar.. Dad went to jail for abusing them. They both signed away their rights to them and Dad isn't allowed to see them.

They call my Friend Mom and their biological mom by her first name. They have a great life. It took 3 years of going to court to get these kids permanently. It was worth it my friend says!

You can't even drive a freaken car without first proving your skills and getting a license, but any idiot has the right to have a child.
You bleeding hearts out there that go around proclaiming that we can't deny people the right to have children need to trot your little butts down to CPS and go through the hundreds of thousands of files and photos of abused children. Look at that photo of a 4 month old baby with cigarette burns all over his little body and then tell me who you bleed for.
Most parents who abuse their children will tell you that they never really wanted them to begin with. "It just happened."
It's all about getting drunk and having sex. These people don't care if they bring an unwanted baby into the world. They know they don't have what it takes to care for a child, but feel they have no choice but to try and raise it.
I had a ticked off mother tell me once that she'd give her daughter up in a heart beat if it wasn't for losing the child support money she got each month.
I'm telling you, the way to stop these unwanted and abused children is to offer 1K for any man or woman willing to get sterilized. Those that don't want children or would make bad parents WILL come forward. If I had the millions, I'd be offering it right now. I've seen way too much.

We also need to do away with age limits on allowing a person to be sterilized. I've heard stories of women who knew they didn't want children and requested to be sterilized only to be told they had to wait until they were over 25 or 30. That makes no sense to me.

I had my tubal at 23 after DD2 was born and I was asked a dozen times right up until they took me to surgery if I really wanted it and had to sign more than one consent in the months leading up to it. As long as there is an informed consent, any person should be allowed to have this done. There could be something put in place to ensure they truly understand what they're asking like a class or waiting period.
