Just wondering different philosophies. I'm the type who gets up as soon as the alarm goes off. It drives me crazy that dh will always snooze a minimum of twice, but it's usually 3-4 times...

Never hit the snooze. If I don't get up when my alarm goes off, I don't get a parking space at work.

I used to get up as soon as the alarm went off, but DH has rubbed off on me. He'll sleep right through the alarm and not even hear it. I'll at least hit the snooze button until I'm tired of having to get out of bed to hit it (his alarm is across the room).

I usually hit the snooze 2 to 3 times.. 4 if I really don't want to get out of bed. My wife would just not hit the snooze at all and sleep through the alarm if it was up to her.

None of the above. I work from home so I don't really need to be anywhere on time. Plus, I wake up between 5 and 6 most every day.

I don't hit the snooze. I'd like to, but I know if I start doing it, I'll start being late to work.

You forgot None of the Above on your poll. I haven't had the alarm wake me in a long time. I'm usually awake at least 1/2 hr earlier than when it's set to go off.

Apparently you can't modify the poll once it's submitted... Although it'd be really funny to mess with some people by changing the categories after the votes had already been cast! And I usually don't have to set an alarm clock either - I've got two of them that call for me between 6-7 every morning However, there are days that I need one...

My cell alarm goes off at 6 and the snooze goes at 6:05. I'm in the shower by 6:08. BF usually gets up after me, but I hate when he gets up earlier because his alarm goes off every 2-5 minutes. I lose sleep when he does that!

There used to be a 'retract' button on the other polls I saw.

My other brother has a downloaded alarm clock on his droid that requires 3 simple math problems to be answered (correctly) before the alarm stops.

I don't use an alarm either. When I start seeing work people in my dreams (no funny stuff people) I know I need to get up and I've never been late.

I don't hit the snooze. I'd like to, but I know if I start doing it, I'll start being late to work. So do like I do and build in the snooze factor. I KNOW I'm gonna hit that thing, I accepted it and set the alarm earlier. I'm a snooze button ninja, I can hit it 3 or 4 times before I even realize it's been going off.

Although since I've gotten older, I'm usually aware of what I'm doing by the second time; sometimes even the first. It doesn't mean I'm going to get up though.

Even if I actually hear it, there's no way I'm getting up the 1st time it goes off. I wonder if I could get someone to pay me to study my sleep habits and/or issues and not have to get up to go to work?? The kids don't need me to take them to school right? I can just unschool them.

I'm so well trained at this point, I get up at the same time every day, even when I don't have to get up that early. And that's usually before the alarm clock. I have no idea why.

My brother has 3 different alarms set at different intervals at different places in his room... sis!!!!! DH must be a long lost bro as well! We have 3 in our room - 2 for DH (one across the room, the other right next to him) and mine next to me. Why 3 you ask? We have to be up at different times and since DH sleeps through both of his, I've gotten good at sleeping through mine as well. Although - DH's been busted..... he'll sleep through the work alarms set to go off at 6am and 6:30am, but he's up, ready and out the door before the fishing alarm goes off at 3am.

I don't use snooze buttons. However my alarm clock has several different settings so if I think I may not get up quickly with my usual alarm I can set another alarm to go off 5 minutes later, so the first alarm might be a CD and the second might be the radio.

I set my alarm but am usually up before it goes off. My internal alarm clock wakes me up every day but I am so sure that if I don't set it, I will oversleep.

IF I set the alarm, I get right up when it goes off. DH is a snoozin' kind of guy.

...I wanted to click two answers to this poll, but it wouldn't let me... I occasionally hit snooze 1-2 times... I often hit snooze often... I've been know to set it an hour early so to snooze my way into lucidity... and the snooze on my biological clock? a different poll question altogether...

I hate the snooze button. I can't stand hearing the alarm once let alone multiple times. That being said I have turned it off and gone back to sleep. Every time I've done it I've known it was a bad idea. Most of the time I can pull it off and get up 5 minutes later but sometimes I am just too tired. I thought my cell alarm snooze was 5 minutes but I lost all my alarms the other day and had to reprogram them. Now it is 10 minutes. I am trying to be better about either getting up or hitting snooze when I know I'm too tired.
