Democrats doubt Barack Obama's reelection chances
President Barack Obama is facing mounting doubts within his own party about his re-election prospects, with fellow Democrats beginning to ask if Hillary Clinton would have made a better president.
I noticed lately some leading Democrats are beginning to have doubts about Obama's re election chances....

This statement pretty well sums it all up for Obama..IMHO
August 11, 2011, 4:49 PM ET.Obama’s Intrade Odds Sink Amid Manic Market.
Bespoke Investment Group Click for larger imageStock-market crashes are hazardous to your reelection chances, as President Obama is discovering.
The president’s Intrade odds of reelection in 2012 peaked at 70% in late April, right after Osama bin Laden was taken out — which, coincidentally or not, was also around the peak of the stock market.
Since then, the president is in bear-market territory, as Bespoke points out, down nearly 28% to a shade above 50/50.
These odds move quickly, as this move demonstrates, and could turn right around again. But if the economy’s not a whole lot better a year from now, there’s no doubt reelection will be tough.

"He thinks everyone has the same agenda to do the right thing, but other people don't have the same agenda. Their agenda is to score points and get their party re-elected."
Oh Noez!!! Not the right thing! The unmitigated gall of that man!

President Obama is known as a great orator, but he's failed to tell Americans a persuasive, reassuring story about our floundering economy, says Drew Westen in The New York TimesThis statement pretty well sums it all up for Obama..IMHO That statement sorta makes me laugh. I'm sorry to break it to anyone, but there is nothing persuasive, or reassuring to say about our floundering economy at this point. The entire world economy is floundering right now, and that's not particularly reassuring. We're going to have some rough times no matter what we do. That's not reassuring either, I'm afraid. It's just true.

I think it is funny that even a presidential summer vacation is political fodder for the news.... BTW one leading liberal economist Robert Reich has been very critical of Obama for not doing more during our recent debt crisis and lack of jobs. And Dr Reich is not alone among the leading liberal political wonks and economists..

That's MUCH better than the President Carter line about "Hey I screwed up as the President but......have a peanut".

I find them rather silly and childish, if you want the truth.

I have noticed that the light has switched "on", for the media and many of the realistic liberal minds. They see that hiring a guy with zero resume, can lead to having an incompetent employee. This is horrible news for the Obama 2012 hopes, and tough for the democrats, in general. I, also, think that the voting population, may not be ready for a republican POTUS. Will a qualified candidate make a run at Obama in the democratic primaries? This could make for a very interesting political season. I agree, however, that the shine is gone, and I would have never predicted it considering the amount of support that he enjoyed, before. I think he could have pulled it off, if he had just appointed and listened to, advisers that had enough experience.

I find the fact that you give weight to his words rather disturbing.

One of his own admirers. Heh. You and I must speak a different brand of English, diamonds. Predicting that someone "would be" the "new Messiah" does not equate to saying someone "is God". At least, it doesn't in my brand of English. That's not even considering the source.

Most of the rest of us don't give 2 shits about what that jackass has to say. I find the fact that you give weight to his words rather disturbing. But just for giggles, I looked up the quote from Farrakhan, and he didn't call Obama the "messiah". As usual, a gross and stupid interpretation gets all of the headlines for the stupid folks to chew on. Below: "You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn't care anything about. That's a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking." You forgot to add 'When Obama talks "The Messiah is absolutely speaking" or Barack Obama to me is a "Herald of the Messiah." No I don't give him any credence as he targeted Jews, whites, gays and a critic of the US Government. However, I do believe in the saying "Tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are".

I don't think it's possible to be a "Herald of the Messiah" and "the Messiah" at the same time, diamonds. I believe it WAS you who said Farrakhan predicted Obama would be the "new Messiah", was it not? From what I read, he made no such prediction; although, his words have been twisted (sometimes, by him and within the same rant) to make it seem he said that. I guess we really do speak different languages.
