ot much to argue with, here. i think he is basically right.
Bob Shrum is a very Savvy Guru who has managed several democratic campaigns and I think he worked for Bill Clinton ...
But you have to believe the White House has to be concerned with photos of Obama playing golf on Martha's Vineyard next week and the markets in free fall or the unemployment numbers increasing again... has to be bad image issue I guess??

Hey dj: Well, give him a karma for that and maybe if you behave I will give you one later.... i don't respond well to inducements. i like to act with complete independence. therefore, if you promise to NOT give me one later for giving PI one, i will consider it.

Funny but I was thinking the same thing today after hearing Obama lambast congress and asking everyone to contact their members of congress and tell them how frustrated we all are...that seemed to me that Obama is throwing in the towel and needs to play golf and/or basketball again on the Cape in my home state of Massachusetts... But then again you have some real heavyweights in the DNC and Democratic Party who want to see congress and the administration not be on vacation and work on the debt issues...so we shall see what happens next week, I guess??

My friend in Vegas lost both of her businesses and 2 houses. She is 66 now, worked hard all her life and was never a leech on society. She is well deserving of SS and Medicare as she paid into the system for all those years. Luckily her family helped her, but at that low period she was entitled to Food Stamps temporarily. She is anti-drug and alcohol so don't clump everyone in the same category as those that refuse to work or have 6 children that expect entitlements.

" Btw I don't mean this in a derogatory way but you remind me a lot of Debbie Wasserman Schultz who is a passionate liberal and very, very feisty and tough..." I'm not really sure who that is, as we don't get her up here, but thank you very much. I think. She is the DNC Chair and member of congress from Florida who I think loves politcal infighting and dicing republicans...she and congressman West also from Florida had a pretty good fight a few days ago.. Google her name and let me know what you think of the comparison between you two ladies....I think she can really kick butt from what I know of her Here is the guy who I have been compared to but it is NOT me..his name is Gunny Emery and was in the Movie "Full Metal Jacket".....

OK, I googled her and we sound very similar. However, I'm much better looking, and I'm never shrill.

I was just about to say that you are probably much better looking than Ms Wasserman Schultz...i I thought it was hilarious that MSNBC had her on right after the results were posted for the Iowa Straw poll and she went off on a rant about how weak the republican field is and they are not in the same league as her hero Obama.....I think the lady's smitten by Obama..

P.I. If you google Debbie Wasserman vs. Colonel Alan West comments, it is not complimentary for her. They called their interaction "The American Hero" vs. "Hogan's Hero". He is a decorated American Hero and was quite outspoken to her remarks, to the point calling her vile.

W/S has a big mouth. some people really hate big mouths. i can't blame them, really. Not only that but Ms Wasserman Schultz can do more harm than good because if she goes too negative it could backfire on her.....she has it in for Governor Perry for some reason and that might just turn off voters with all of her personal attacks against him if she crosses the line which she has done in the past.... The RNC may decide to retaliate against Ms Wasserman Schultz and try to destroy her....they are very good at that art as you know..

dj: Awww, what kind did you get? Tigger is a tuxedo but is approx. 8 years old, and he stays with me all the time. He is really a good boy, really no bad habits. If he is being naughty I raise my voice and he stops. I would love another cat as I've always had Siamese and they were so smart, but would get a female next time. Tigger is not a lap sitter and females are more affectionate.

Oh, I am so jealous. I remember when Tigger was a kitten he was so playful he gave us so many laughs. I have noticed that a lot of men are really into cats lately. I adore watching the kittens play at the petstore and am grumpy when I walk away empty handed.

She was talking to you, but this is a public board where we all comment on each others posts, Sir. I know who she is referring to, and I stand by my comment. Ok but I appreciate the lady's courteous comments and concern...it is a nice change here since it is so rare Courteous is in the eye of the beholder I suppose.

Talk about perspective in need of being regained. Worst thing Bush did was regurgitate Clinton's words on the subject.
Let's regain some more perspective shall we. There was a big difference between Clinton's air attacks and Bush's invasion. The UN weapons inspectors asked for US intervention in Iraq and Clinton obliged, in Bush's case the UN weapons inspectors asked for more time to continue their work and Bush ignored them.
"There were about 700 inspections, and in no case did we find weapons of mass destruction," said Hans Blix, the Swedish diplomat called out of retirement to serve as the United Nations' chief weapons inspector from 2000 to 2003; from 1981 to 1997 he headed the International Atomic Energy Agency. "We went to sites [in Iraq] given to us by intelligence, and only in three cases did we find something" - a stash of nuclear documents, some Vulcan boosters, and several empty warheads for chemical weapons. More inspections were required to determine whether these findings were the "tip of the iceberg" or simply fragments remaining from that deadly iceberg's past destruction, Blix said he told the United Nations Security Council. However, his work in Iraq was cut short when the United States and the United Kingdom took disarmament into their own hands in March of last year.
Blix accused U.S. President George W. Bush and U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair of acting not in bad faith, but with a severe lack of "critical thinking." The United States and Britain failed to examine the sources of their primary intelligence - Iraqi defectors with their own agendas for encouraging regime change - with a skeptical eye, he alleged. In the buildup to the war, Saddam Hussein and the Iraqis were cooperating with U.N. inspections, and in February 2003 had provided Blix's team with the names of hundreds of scientists to interview, individuals Saddam claimed had been involved in the destruction of banned weapons. Had the inspections been allowed to continue, Blix said, there would likely be a very different situation in Iraq today. As it was, America's pre-emptive, unilateral actions "have bred more terrorism there and elsewhere."
