Voter approval of the job Congress is doing has fallen to a new low - for the second month in a row. Just six percent (6%) of Likely U.S. Voters now rate Congress' performance as good or excellent, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Last month, Congressional approval ratings fell to what was then a record low with eight percent (8%) who rated its performance good or excellent. Sixty-one percent (61%) now think the national legislators are doing a poor job, a jump of nine points from a month ago. www.rasmussenreports.com/index.php/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/congressional_performance

Doesn't surprise much, does it, Wiccan? It's a shame those folks can't put as much effort into doing what they were put there to do as they put into partisan political plays.

My impression of the government from the president on down is zero. they go play golf, bend elbows at some swank place together etc yet they cannot sit down at a table and discuss things logically. No they have to play the Mano, Mano political games at our expense. I would not be surprised to see a lot of new faces in congress and the presidency next election. None of them deserve to be re-elected. I usually cut politicians some slack on things but not this time they have used it all up with me. Danged if there is a new face running in the next election I will vote for them. They cannot be any worse than what we have now. That is on both sides of the isle. MY RANT FOR THE DAY.

Just six percent (6%) of Likely U.S. Voters now rate Congress' performance as good or excellent,My guess is that 12% of U.S. voters miss their butts with toilet paper at least 3 times before connecting so I'm surprised the number isn't higher.

New Low Approval For Congress
What did you expect when you have a dysfunctional congress??
Many so called political experts, who have been around the block a few times claim they have never seen it so bad as it is now and only getting worse until voters say enough of this nonsense and send the partisan incompetents into retirement on both sides of the aisle.

That number really speaks bad for Obama as well since the majority in congress are Democrats but what really astounds me is that if history repeats itself the voters will vote most of the thugs back in again. If 94% are dissatisfied why wouldn't they would vote for anybody but a Republican or Democrat?

If 94% are dissatisfied why wouldn't they would vote for anybody but a Republican or Democrat? Simply because in most states and congressional districts, majorities are satisfied with who represents them. It is the people that others elect to represent them who are the problem. It is the same thought(?) process in which people see the need for budget cuts in all the programs that they don't personally support or use.

Good point and makes me think the real answer lies in reducing the scope of our federal government and allowing for more states rights as was originally planned. Let people be governed by their local representatives and government who they approve of and only allow the federal government to do their constitutional limited duties dealing with a common defense and protection of the country.

I'm thinking the government has done such a poor job of protecting our borders that the states could do better for "common defense".

It also resolves the issue of the "debt ceiling" except all of the states would still have to pay off the current debt of 14.3 trillion dollars that the bozos have borrowed and wasted. Sure hoping the Republicans hang tough this time and refuse to give in to these morons until we have a balanced budget amendment.
