There's one poll that counts: November 2012.

yeah, it is not like these people that are polling call back the same exact people for the same poll later on.

There's on poll that counts: November 2012. Yep, and that's a long way off. There is still time to find a candidate to surface that can take Obama on. It really shouldn't be that hard, although the job will be tougher for the next person that wins the nomination to undo the mess he's made. If we can't come forth with the rignt challenger, I will never, ever, vote for Obama.

I think the approval rating is meaningless- a lot of people probably think he is doing a crappy job that wouldn't consider voting for a republican.

Or is it voting for the lesser failure? I can think Obama is doing a crappy job- but I sure as hell wouldn't vote for a republican that is only going to make things even worse (i.e. the current lineup). I double sure as hell won't vote for a far right crazy republican or tea party member. I'll probably just sit home this time anyway- we are eff'd either way. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, and all.

For me it's been far to long, if ever, that I had a good choice to vote for - it's always been voting for the least bad. You get to vote for either your left thumb or your right thumb to be cut off.

Have any of you been called or contacted for a poll? Just curious.

I think the approval rating is meaningless- a lot of people probably think he is doing a crappy job that wouldn't consider voting for a republican. That is quite true- especially in NY, but there is something called "voter enthusiasm" that really does make a difference because while they may not vote Repbulican, they may not feel strongly enough to go vote for Obama. If Obama can't gin up geniune voter enthusiasm and support, it will hurt him- you can take that to the bank.

He didn't win by popular vote the last time, he won the electoral vote. He definitely won't win the popular vote this time either. Plus, we've heard all his fancy rhetoric and false promises before, nothing will change only worsen with him. Good speech writers, nothing more.

Good point- I am probably not voting this time- at least if it is Romney. Now if Bachman was on the ticket I would have to go vote. Someone like her will stir up enthusiasm on the other side.

evt: Would you really vote for a woman? I do believe she is the best qualified so far, and certainly has the enthusiam element. Palin grinds on my nerves and hope she doesn't run. If she does, I won't vote. I don't give a rip if they are tea-party candidates either, as to me that is a plus for the grassroots middle class majority!

This election I am going to find hard. I cannot get enthused by any of them as yet. It has gotten to the point where I just want to throw both sides out and start over. Why are we so short on real statesmen at this point and time in history? I keep hoping someone will come forward that can convience me that they really have the ordinary citizens best interests at heart.

I don't like the word "hope" anymore as Obama misused it. With him there is no hope, and his dream of changing America has not been in the peoples interests. Most of what he has done has gone against the grain of the American people and the thought of losing our AAA rating is most distressing.

I will "throw my vote away" I suppose.
