Michele Bachman was an attorney for the Treasury Department and went after tax cheats. All of a sudden the Democrats seem to be saying going after tax cheats is un-American. They apparently want more taxes to be collected, they just don't want a Republican presidential candidate to have a background of helping with the collection process. Watsup? Seems It'd be a "plus" in her column for having that very experience. I mean, you know , , what tax experience has Obama had, except a love affair with every tax, , , on other people, , , that he encounters. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43715749/ns/politics-decision_2012/

Clearly a great resume item for her to be head of the IRS. To be President of the United States it has a much more limited "plus" value. Still, I think she should be loud and proud in pointing out that she used to work for the Internal Revenue Service.

Heh. If I'd ever worked for the IRS, I'd pull a sheet over my head and hide under the bed.

Now, now mmhmm. How're the Democrats supposed to , , , legally , , , collect all those taxes without IRS lawyers? Should they be part of Obama's secret army that is bigger and better funded than our military? bills said: "Do you have a link?" I say: No, I don't have a link and my comment was a play on words. Bbut I do have a link to a place where the entire purpose seems to be to paint Bachmann as un American. It features a video of that doofus that MSNBC finally dumped, Keith Olbermann. Isn't it poignant how the germanic tribes have evolved. www.dumpbachmann.com/

So as a collector for the IRS or Dept of Tresuary she would have first hand knowledge of what the tax code is doing to middle and low income individuals, using her line of as a way of painting her as double speak to me is disingenius. It shows me someone who is willing to uphold the law (tax collector) while working to change them (congressperson).
My opinion, she is unelectable, others feel differently.

"Latest GOP repeal tactic: Starve the IRS" thehill.com/blogs/healthwatch/health-reform-implementation/144821-latest-gop-repeal-tactic-starve-the-irsDo you not put your money where your mouth is because you'll be afraid it'll get taxed or something? No, we don't want to have a candidate who makes up history, hasn't really passed any legislation as a Congresswoman, believes in intelligent design, is a hypocrite in regards to getting Federal money, etc. That's why we don't like her. She's also has two eyes and a pancreas, but that's not why we don't like her. You should cease your love affair with hyperbole. Also you should call it quits with your dictating on how other people think tryst. So he runs around and taxes people he meets up with? Uh, okay.

I didn't read it that way at all. I don't think the article is painting her as un-american, but rather showing that she seems to be twisting words around to try to make her past more appealing to voters. Really not much different than what most people do on their resume, but kind of interesting still. I don't think it matters, if she somehow wins the primaries, she will get blown out by Obama.

If Michelle Bachmann walked on water, the headline in the liberal media would read: Bachmann can't swim. If she cured cancer, they would accuse her of taking jobs away from scientists...get the picture?

Oh, I see, ed. She's just another level headed Republican trying to save the Republic, and one that has some experience with people who are not.
Yeah. I get it, now. Thanks.

msnbc.com staff and news service reports updated 7/11/2011 8:28:22 AM ET WASHINGTON— Republican presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty said Sunday that 2012 rival Michele Bachmann has a "nonexistent" record of accomplishment during her three terms in Congress. Pawlenty, who's behind in the polls and lagging in fundraising, said that as a former Minnesota governor, he has executive experience she lacks. "We're not looking for folks who just have speech capabilities," Pawlenty said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "We're looking for people who can lead a large enterprise in a public setting and drive it to conclusion. I've done that, and she hasn't." He continued, "I've got executive leadership in a public setting with a record of accomplishment and results under difficult and challenging circumstances, and she has served in Congress. And in that regard, her record of accomplishment is, you know, like I said, nonexistent." Bachmann rejected Pawlenty's criticism. She cited her efforts in the House against President Barack Obama's health-care overhaul, saying, "My message brought tens of thousands of Americans to Washington, D.C., to oppose Obamacare." The Minnesota congresswoman also cited her votes against "cap-and-trade" legislation to control greenhouse gases, and against the government's 2008 bailout of banks, financial firms and automakers. "I am proud of my record of fighting with resolve, and without apology, for our free markets, for sane fiscal policies, and in opposition to the advancement of the big government left," Bachmann said. A poll last month in early-voting Iowa put former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and tea party favorite Bachmann at the top. Pawlenty was back in the pack despite an aggressive campaign in the state. "These early polls are not a good indicator of anything," Pawlenty insisted on NBC. "If they were, Rudy Giuliani or Hillary Clinton would be president of the United States." But he acknowledged that over the next 60 days, he needs to show "significant progress." He pointed to the Iowa Republican Party's straw poll on Aug. 13 and said he thinks he'll prevail. The Associated Press contributed to this report. advertisement Pawlenty blasts Bachmann's 'nonexistent' record 'We're looking for people who can lead a large enterprise ... I've done that, and she hasn't' www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43710592/ns/politics-decision_2012/t/pawlenty-blasts-bachmanns-nonexistent-record/

It isn't just that SHE believes it herself.... It's that she wants it taught as science....
I know quite a few politicians who believe in evolution... Or at least keep it to themselves if they do not...

Frankly, I don't care much what someone's belief system might be. I don't think it's relevant, really. I'm a lot more interested in whether that person can put their own beliefs on the back burner if they wish to be involved in running a country full of people with differing belief systems, differing needs, and differing abilities. I find the individual who can put his/her own needs and beliefs behind those of the country rather than determining the best course of action to be turning the country's citizens' beliefs to meet his/her own to be more fitting to hold government office.

Michelle Bachmann should highlight her resume with her and her husband`s "Pray the Gay Away" business which (so it is said) is their primary source of income.

Wasn't it republicans mostly that were fighting the crackdown on UBS and overseas tax avoidence banking when Obama first took office?
