I have to service my car this week, then I have a wedding to go to this month. UGGGHHH... So, looks like this 15th, I won't be able to pay what I scheduled. This kinda sucks. I had 800 scheduled to go on Citi, but I will have to do more like 400 instead. I don't want to pull money out of EF for car repair, because really, if I do, then I will have to pay less on credit cards next month so I can refill EF again, so it's same thing. Oh well.. just wanted to whine a little...

You're making tremendous progress - this is just a little blip. No biggie, in the grand scheme of things.

Don't let it get you down, you're doing great! Be happy you're able to cashflow the repairs and wedding without going deeper into debt. The important thing is to keep moving forward and not back.

What minnesotapaintlday said.
You have the funds to pay for the repair. You aren't having to put it on plastic. Car repairs happen. And you are prepared. This is just a hiccup.
You're doing great. Keep itup.

Like others have said, "no problem". You're on track.
When you are dug out from under you might consider what I do (and I know a number others here do this as well). I set aside a certain amount of money each month (or you might do it per payroll period) for those irregular expenses (or expenses that are on a regular scheduled basis but come up only once every few months or once a year, like car insurance premium, etc) like car repairs, home repairs, etc.
This way the money is always available when it's due. Plus this money acts as a bit of an emergency fund itself.

I'm with wodehouse, that is what my DH and I do. Since many of our expenses are annual or bi-annual we are putting away $800/month and only twice a year do our annual/biannual expenses exceed that so normally it just keeps going up and up.

Everybody gets a visit from Murphy now & then. Don't let it bother you. Like the other posters have said, you are headed in the right direction!

Thanks! I was just hoping to be in 4 digits range this month I guess I will have to wait until August then. Just been out of it lately. Don't know why.I think it's because I knew this wedding was coming up and it will require me to spend some money. I don't even want to go to that thing! No way for me to get out of it though... I am just feeling "blah" lately...

If it makes you feel any better, I feel the same way when life happens and I can't add to my savings. C'est La vie! You are making wonderful progress.

Chin up! As GardeningGrandma said, at least you have the funds available and don't have to put this on the plastic. Murphy shows his head every now and again...just keep on going the next month as you planned.

Hi Indebt Personally, I'd use the EF and I'd keep paying on the cards. I'd redirect 100/mo or 150/mo to the EF, but I'd still put the majority of that 800 payment towards the cards. You can always slow down later IF you have another "bump in the road" before you're done (you may, you may not). But for now, I'd prioritize paying off those high-interest cards ASAP over replenishing the EF (quickly). Other thought: switch the cards around again and get a "win" on one of the smaller cards you were planning to leave till the end. Whatever you decide, hang in there, you're doing GREAT! ETA: If you are going after the AMEX or another card rather than the Citi, you need to redo your signature.

I know it's discouraging, but you're still doing great! I agree with debthaven, though - use the EF, that's what it's for (well, maybe not the wedding, but you know). If it makes you feel any better, I got home to discover our 75 gallon aquarium has a 3" crack in the side... hopefully we can get a new one before this one explodes and all our little fishies get dried onto the carpet But it could be worse for both of us!

Thanks everyone! I feel little better today. I think it's just this damn weather. I think I need to get out for a round of golf. I been sitting home every weekend with my buddy that does his debt payoff program too. I think we are just both kind of tired of sitting at home on Fridays. I might have to get out one weekend. I do need to change my signature back to what it was before. It's ok. Like my buddy says. What both of us are doing in 12-14 months it takes others 36 months and some don't even do it! So, as long as I have some progress, I am fine. I was thinking about paying off one of the small cards in full (800 bucks) to give me a boost. It would be either BMW Visa or DB Visa. I have 3 days to make up my mind on what to do!

I think whatever you choose will be fine... I can see the allure of getting to cross another card off the list this week! Do you have any plans for a grand (or mini) celebration once you're debt-free? You should definitely treat yourself to something. And are you gonna change your screen name?

Oh.. my friend and I do have BIG plans for celebration. lol We have a box with a slot in it that you can put money in it. We call it Ef You! Box. ( little message to the credit cards). Both of our debt free dates are pretty much same month. We calculated how much money it would be per person per month to save up enough for this nice bottle of adult beverage By the time we are done paying our debts off, we will have enough money in the Ef You! Box to purchase that bottle. This will be our celebration when we are both done. We will go to the store and buy that expensive bottle and enjoy it. Bottle is around $150 bucks.

Hey indebt, just think of it this way. Every bump in the road on the way that it's not a lack of discipline your part will just make the accomplishment taste that little sweeter Just keep up the good work and you'll get there in the end.

You're making tremendous progress - this is just a little blip. No biggie, in the grand scheme of things. The fact that it bothers you is a sure sign you're outlook is healthy, and you will continue to make progress. I HATED being in cc debt. Took a looooong time to get it done and gone- but it's worth it. Just think: when you're done you can invest all that money.

I know Paul, I can't wait! I can't imagine the freedom all of you who paid off your debt feel right now. I keep thinking "2012, 2012, 2012, 2012". I can't wait to have that 12 months saved up. Hell, I have 1k now in my tiny EF and I don't think I ever held a grand for that long without blowing it on stupid stuff. Next month will be much better for me. Just bummed me out when I though about this month, I will not be able to follow my payment plan like I mapped it out. Oh well, right? Things happen. The good thing is, I will pay like $500 on the card. Back to Amex and my original victim card. After that thing is paid off, I will be able to delete americanexpress.com from my favorites! Felt good when I did it with GE card! Thank you guys for all the words of encouragement. I needed that. Between you guys and my debt payoff buddy, I feel much better now.

In that case I would not worry about replenishing it (for now).
So, how many characters will you cross off in just three days? LOL
