The article in the opening post states Egypt is addding 130 Abram tanks to its existing 1,000 Abram tanks. Who do you think sold or gave the "sworn enemy of our friend" the money for the tanks in the first place all these years? Hint: The Abram tank is produced in the U.S. and Egypt did not come into pocession of the first 1,000 tank during the past 30 months.

THE CHARTER OF ALLAH: THE PLATFORM OF THE
ISLAMIC RESISTANCE MOVEMENT (HAMAS)* The Ideological Aspects Article One The Islamic Resistance Movement draws its guidelines from Islam; derives from it its thinking, interpretations and views about existence, life and humanity; refers back to it for its conduct; and is inspired by it in whatever step it takes. The Link between Hamas and the Association of Muslim Brothers Article Two The Islamic Resistance Movement [HAMAS] is one of the wings of the Muslim Brothers in Palestine. The Muslim Brotherhood Movement is a world organization, the largest Islamic Movement in the modern era. It is characterized by a profound understanding, by precise notions and by a complete comprehensiveness of all concepts of Islam in all domains of life: views and beliefs, politics and economics, education and society, jurisprudence and rule, indoctrination and teaching, the arts and publications, the hidden and the evident, and all the other domains of life. www.fas.org/irp/world/para/docs/880818.htm Mubarak = ally

If anyone doubted Obama's support for the Muslim Brotherhood, they don't now... Ed, I was saying to my Jewish friend .. You will not like the out come of the election when the sea turns out and you can see who is wearing a bathing suit. Hamas is a swarn daemon that can not be cured. They declare every year that they will destroy Israel.. Episcopalian and all. This is called an continuing state of war and because of this Israel can keep the land called West Bank as a defensive action in war. The no added land clause in the UN charter is not about state of war. Funny thing is the Israel flag has the form of the old Hindo sign for unity not the Star of David..Unity of the Episcopal and Jewish!! Just a thought, Bi Metal Au Pt

I think it’s great, the Abrams is built in America by Americans it’s jobs and exports. I don’t think Ford trucks are selling very well over there.

Two beggars are sitting side by side on a street in Rome. One has a Cross in front of him; the other one is holding the Star of David. Many people go by, look at both beggars, but only put money into the hat of the beggar sitting behind the Cross. A priest comes by. He stops to watch the throngs of people giving money to the beggar who holds the Cross, but none give to the beggar holding the Star of David. Finally, the priest goes over to the beggar behind the Star of David and says, "My poor fellow, don't you understand? This is a Catholic country; this city is the seat of Catholicism. People aren't going to give you money if you sit there with a Star of David in front of you, especially when you're sitting beside a beggar who is holding a Cross. In fact, they would probably give more money to him just out of spite." The beggar behind the 'Star of David' listened to the priest, turned to the beggar with the Cross and said: "Moishe, look who's trying to teach the Goldstein brothers about marketing."

"to stop this feckless deal that threatens to bring lethal harm to Israel’s already beleaguered population"
I don't beleive 125 Tanks is going to tip the balance of power here..Egypt is still a friend to us, and there is a deal with all parties here.
We also had a deal to sell $80 Billion of arms to the Saudis, not sure if that is still on the table, and I didn't see the Israeli's being that upset over this sale, possible they were well aware of it, their surprise a tt he sale is not as strong as they normally react when these things are brought up.
I wonder if we are selling them surplus equipement, we have to many Abrahms now, there has been talk of cutting down on our inventory..
I wonder why the Egyptians are asking for many of these Tanks now, seems they have more then enough and being so short of funds, unless they have to spend $ we give them on these weapons..

Reply #1 and the link in reply #5 are appropriate to revisit at this point. I think that Egypt has its own miitary-industrial complex that it needs to feed also.
