Guess this middle to the left likes to see some people getting what I would say well deserved raises for long hours , working in a pressure cooker environement, and living in a expensive cost of living part of the country..to be on a POTUS staff and to earn 100 k...seems ok to me...good people, you have to pay them to keep them happy and continue to work those hours. I wonder how many are working 40 hour, 9/5 jobs..not according to the only information show I ever saw, "West Wing " seemed those folks rarely went home, usually to a bar some where, a few drinks to get their head back on, a quck tryst if lucky and back to the "West Wing"... ;D

Rachets, Bill Clinton didn't have to , ,"then go back to work" , ,
Accordiung to miz Lewinsky he was discussing troop levels in the middle east while she was doing one of her jobs on him under his desk.
And you've just learned that some people get their news from TV sitcoms. More proof is in the reaction to the Anthony case as it was recieved by "Law and Order" viewers.

I've been trying to research the Lewis kid... not a lot out there, what i read was positive, but again, i'm not sure of his exact duties and if/how they have evolved in his position... Deserving. Interesting concept. I guess I'm not sure in my thoughts what anyone might do to 'deserve' more than the 42.2 million the CBS guy got last year... what he could have done that he 'deserved' a raise of 14 million dollars this year... Median income in this country is right around 50K. Do i think the white house guy deserves a raise equal to 72% of the median income? ... so that he now makes 1.56X the median household income ?.... I'm not sure. I'd like to know more. X Do i think the CBS guy deserves a raise equal to 280X the median income.... so that he now makes 1138X the median household income? No... I don't think you are ever going to convince me he 'deserves' that... Well, you could say that he helped Obama get into office, CBS is a liberal biased news medium. Without the media Obama may have never got into office. Do I think he is worth millions, that depends on how many of his ideas bring in millions. Bill gates constructed windows/Microsoft, do you think he is worth millions or billions?

However, they were right. Their world was flat.
Unfortunately for them, the rest of the world resisted conventional wisdom.

We can't hire people and have to sit on a ton of cash earning next to nothing in money markets because we don't know how the f*** this administration is going to bend us over next. We know that the healthcare law is going to screw us over but we are still trying to figure all that s*** out since DC didn't even read the clusterf*** before passing it.
If this administration were to get out of the way of business instead of trying its best to move us in the direction of Europe, we would open the floodgates and invest the piles of cash we're sitting on so we could earn a return for our investors [i.e. all of the workers that have a 401k].

Expat, no offense but the day a financial professional complains about people making 1%.... I doesn't take a genius to know that bankers and financiers love "free money." So do stock traders. Why wouldn't you like things that force people into speculations if you make your living selling the things they speculate on. At the risk of sounding like a broken record...AMERICAN KLEPTOCRACY. "Government for, and by....the thieves." Put that in your pipe and smoke, it Tommy Jefferson. So much for his ideas about how the money supply should be controlled and regulated. bingo. but for the record, TJ would be paralyzed with contempt for what has gone on in the last decade.

I think it would be more accurate to suggest the last three to five decades he would not be too pleased with.

My guess is that most CEOs would actually be thrilled with the passage of the health care law... currently providing health care is a significant expense... but from all i hear, as soon as exchages are set... they will be able to unload health care in exchange for only paying a small fine...

WalMart pushed hard for that legislation. they were not alone.

he promised he was going to get us out of war, and not only did he not do that, he got us into another.
he will never get my trust again, as lying about american lives, is not one that i can forgive.

Iraq? troops are supposed to be out of there by the end of this year....well...as of today.

As a candidate in 2008, President Obama promised to end the conflict in Iraq, and after taking office, he pledged to abide by the deadline. But administration officials have also signaled that they would be open to discussions with Maliki's government about extending the U.S. presence.
the real point of my post was that we are in more armed conflict today than when he took office. this was a blood promise........one that can not be taken back.....

"I wondetr which of the White House staffers do any of "those" things." Well, I make far more than that, and I am not required to do any of those things. Whats your point? We CHOOSE what we do for a living in this country. Don't like your job? Don't think you make enough? luckily we have the freedom to do something to change it. More training, more education, simply switching jobs,...this isn't communist Russia for petes sake! I am guessing you don't have a problem with how much the CEO's from the banks make.
