Questions FOR Obama? Nope. Questions ABOUT Obama? Yeah. Here's a sampling that just hit my email inbox. SOME OF YOU WILL APPRECIATE THIS AND SOME OF YOU WILL NOT! And everybody, (liberals first), will tire long before getting to the end of it I DO NOT APOLOGIZE FOR SENDING THIS BECAUSE ALL OF IT IS TRUE! If any other of our presidents had doubled the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved? If any other of our presidents had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved? If any other of our presidents had criticized a state law that he admitted he never even read, would you think that he is just an ignorant hot head? If any other of our presidents joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in the United States to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration, would you question his patriotism and wonder who's side he was on? If any other of our presidents had pronounced the Marine Corps like Marine Corpse, would you think him an idiot? If any other of our presidents had put 87,000 workers out of work by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling on companies that have one of the best safety records of any industry because one foreign company had an accident, would you have agreed? If any other of our presidents had used a forged document as the basis of the moratorium that would render 87000 American workers unemployed would you support him? If any other of our presidents had been the first President to need a Teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes? If any other of our presidents had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take his First Lady to a play in NYC, would you have approved? If any other of our presidents had reduced your retirement plan holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved? If any other of our presidents had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved? If any other of our presidents had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved? If any other of our presidents had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought it a proud moment for America ? If any other of our presidents had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia , would you have approved? If any other of our presidents had visited Austria and made reference to the nonexistent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip? If any other of our presidents had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved? If any other of our presidents had stated that there were 57 states in the United States , wouldn't you have had second thoughts about his capabilities? If any other of our presidents would have flown all the way to Denmark to make a five minute speech about how the Olympics would benefit him walking out his front door in his home town, would you not have thought he was a self important, conceited, egotistical jerk.
If any other of our presidents had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, wouldn't you have winced in embarrassment?
If any other of our presidents had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite? If any other of our presidents' administrations had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11? If any other of our presidents had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence? If any other of our presidents had created the position of 32 Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America , would you have ever approved. If any other of our presidents had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved? So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 21 months -- so you have that much time to come up with an answer. Every statement and action in this email is factual and directly attributable to Barrack Hussein Obama. Every bumble is a matter of record and completely verifiable. I WONDER HOW MANY OF YOU WILL 'RE-ELECT' THIS BUMBLING IDIOT?
YOU ALL SAID YOU WANTED "CHANGE" . . . WELL YOU GOT IT!!! "All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

Good list of questions henryclay. Some are certainly more significant than others. It would be interesting to listen to the President address each of them. I do question however which exactly you consider a sign of "evil"? Or are all of them a sign of "evil"?

If any other of our presidents had created the position of 32 Czars who report directly to him, bypassing the House and Senate on much of what is happening in America , would you have ever approved. Never fails, when reading Obama bashing posts it's always easier to follow the 'bottoms up' rule, that is: instead of reading the entire post it's much easier to read backward from the end of the article to see how long it takes to find inaccuracies or down right stupid statements. In the article posted in #3 the bottoms up allowed me to get the gist after only reading about 10% of the article. The Czar statement is absolutely inaccurate, a fact that probably wasn't lost on the article's author but was definitely beyond the grasp of his/her readers. Funny man and conservative entertainer Glen Beck was one of the first to agitate conservatives with his 32 Czars skit. Here's a reality check on Glen's Czar count: In fact, of the 32 czars Beck lists:
- Nine were confirmed by the Senate, including the director of national intelligence ("intelligence czar"), the chief performance officer ("government performance czar") and the deputy interior secretary ("California water czar"). - Eight more were not appointed by the president ¨C the special adviser to the EPA overseeing its Great Lakes restoration plan ("Great Lakes czar") is EPA-appointed, for instance, and the assistant secretary for international affairs and special representative for border affairs ("border czar") is appointed by the secretary of homeland security. - Fifteen of the "czarships" Beck lists, including seven that are in neither of the above categories, were created by previous administrations. (In some cases, as with the "economic czar," the actual title ¨C in this case, chairman of the president¡¯s economic recovery advisory board ¨C is new, but there has been an official overseeing the area in past administrations. In others, as with the special envoy to Sudan, the position is old but the "czar" appellation is new.) - In all, of the 32 positions in Beck¡¯s list, only eight are Obama-appointed, unconfirmed, brand new czars. These new "czars" include the special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan; the director of recovery for auto communities and workers; the senior advisor for the president¡¯s Automotive Task Force; the special adviser for green jobs, enterprise, and innovation at the White House Council on Environmental Quality; the federal chief information officer; the chair of the Recovery Act Transparency and Accountability Board; the White House director of urban affairs; and the White House coordinator for weapons of mass destruction, security and arms control. Or, as Glenn Beck would have it, the Afghanistan czar, the auto recovery czar, the car czar, the embattled green jobs czar, the information czar, the stimulus accountability czar, the urban affairs czar and the WMD policy czar.So remember, reading an Obama bash? Bottoms Up.

Obama said today there will be another meeting at the White House on Thursday. And again Repubs said NO to tax increases but our President wants the Repubs to make some concessions or leave their partisan demands at the door, and stop being the party of NO...

The pubs don't get it yet, not raising the debt ceiling is the only thing that's off the table. A HUGE majority of Americans would rather see tax increases and shutting down subsidies/loop holes than they would cuts to Medicare benefits. The clock's a tickin'.

How did the Democrats brainwash so many Americans into believing that putting this country into massive debt is the only way to make it prosperous? HOW???

How did the republicans produce so many "business savvy" Americans who don't understand why debt can result from cutting revenues after establishing your costs.

Good Lord, does that mean congress has been establishing costs before establishing revenues all these years?
I wonder how that would work to anybody's benefit, , , and whether I can try to borrow any money from a bank run by Democrats today if I use the same amortization tactics.

Don't blame the the Good Lord, he had nothing to do with the pubs misunderstanding of our economic process. Pubs had 6 good years to cut the programs that were being paid for by revenues cut in 2002/2003. The Good Lord wasn't responsible for funding Afghanistan and Iraq outside the budgetary process, running up hidden debt. But unlike conservatives, the Good Lord won't be fooled by the pubs view of history. The Good Lord won't turn his back on the less privileged in our society. The Good Lord also won't change reality, not increasing the debt ceiling is the only thing that's off the table.

Is "compromise" a dirty word?? Obama rejects a short term deal and he says" the negotiators have to leave ultimatums at the door". There are two weeks left and then the governement could default on its debt and not pay its bills..

There are two weeks left and then the governement could default on its debt and not pay its bills.. PI, Yes, but how many times in history has the age group that was 15 year ahead of retirment started to save 15% of their income.. Well the children are out of the house and the house is empty .. what else to do but increase your overtime to save.. Overtime has increased for older workers, few new jobs are created as the next generation lacks skills.. just like the last generation so the firms will get the the last $$$$ out of the training until they retire .. Now we have an extra $5,000 added to the 401b/403k to make overtime work free of taxes.. so the Boomer are doing something new.. SAVE!! Just a thought, Bi Metal Au Pt Attachments:

Remember the old saying (Nero fiddled while Rome burned)? Well what we are seeing is the modern version of that statement. However the consequences will be much more acute this time around. All this posturing is not going to instill confidence in the world market place concerning our ability to reasonably address our economic problems. It is time to bury the hatchet and get it done.
