Stupid is as stupid does. Hopefully while the lead dogs are duking it out, somebody like Johnson can quietly come from behind and shock them all.

... seriously, guys....i was hoping to get more feedback from this one.... Seriously, we are talking about a national preference poll. The nomination process is one of a number of state races spread out over many months, the first of which is about six months away. So you are asking people to talk about how is going to come out in second place in a contest of zero significance.

For most it is a matter of money. Most don't have it and cannot raise it. Romney will get all he needs from the Nor-east crowd. They are totally fed up with Obama. Not Obama or anyone else can carry the north east against Romney and that is a vital area to any winner in votes, exposure and money.

dj, I think you'd be a very happy guy if Palin were the Republican candidate. Bachmann or Taitz, even happier.
Keep lobbying for the gals! lolol

Palin doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning against Obama. She rubs too many people the wrong way. I'm a conservative and even I can see that.
It would be funny though, a Plain presidency would drive the liberal socialist media absolutely insane.

so, my question to the GOP faithful, and others, is who do you think will move into 2nd place among those three?
Speaking as one of the 'and others', if this is the best the GOP can muster then my prediction is who ever they choose will end up as number 2 in the only election that counts, November 2012. Understanding that I'm definitely not a GOP faithful anymore, I did vote for Romney when he ran for Governor of Massachusetts. Why? Because he was pro-business, believed in balancing the budget (which he had to by law), was pro healthcare, he supported the rights of rape victims and mothers over the rights of the unborn AND because he supported gay rights. Now 6 months after his election he started to 'redefine' his positions as he prepared for a presidential run. Personally I think he believed that solving the state's healthcare problems by signing Romneycare would be his defining moment that bought him the white house, little did he realize how that would be used against him even though it has been and continues to be a success in the state. If he was running against Al Gore, knowing that his new positions don't reflect the man I could probably vote for him again. BUT he's not going to be running against Al Gore, he'll be running against the president who got healthcare legislation passed, kept the economy from falling off the ledge AND authorized the operation to kill bin laden. In other words, if Romney is the best the GOP has, he's not enough.

I say Ron Paul, if not he is going to make the republican candidate lose. If he was running third party we definitely would have Obama again.

If he was running third party we definitely would have Obama again. two new polls are out. it is showing that Palin and Gingrich have fallen WAY back. Bachmann is now in second, and Paul is now in 3rd. Romney is now +22% he is not a terribly moderate conservative, but he looks like a leftie standing next to the competition.
