Even without all of the strings attached, this doesn't sound like the best project car. You would probably end up dumping more money into it than you could ever get out of it selling it and would that really be the vehicle you want your 16 year old driving? If you're going to put all of that time and money into something, it should be something you'd really want to own at the end. Also, without a garage to work on it in, long term backyard auto projects tend to be unpleasant. It's always too hot or too cold or raining so you end up covering it with a tarp and moisture gets in and stuff rusts or gets moldy. I have a yard full of machines with engines that DH bought to restore and they just get worse every year.
