So what you're saying is: It's the Republicans fault since they've had a majority role in the Senate for this entire time? /END SARCASM

so you can read the small print, huh? All kidding aside, We haven't had a passed budget for over 2 years. When was the last time the senate was in Republican control? Why do we continue to pay these 100 members of Congress if they for over 2 years haven't done the 1 bedrock principle of politics, make sure the money for running the government is there?

1999 - 2001 Session was the last Republican controlled Senate with a 50/50 split for some of the 2001 - 2003 session.
Both parties are to blame here (overall), but how can you not get a budget out for more than 2 years?

...but how can you not get a budget out for more than 2 years? Become a guv-er-munt worker, it's easy. My company requires every department head submit a budget proposal every single year.

I already am a (local) government worker. Our departments budget has to be in no later than Aug. 1st of each year for the next Fiscal Year. We would get hammered if we didn't have a proper budget. I guess that's the difference vs. Federal....those Senators are only responsible to the voters and most voters don't have a clue on either side.

The trick would be to go ahead and pass a budget, then not pay any attention to it and spend off budget on a regular basis. No one says anything and everyone is happy about the budget... not sure it works for every president though.....

If nothing is off the table, Congressional salaries should be cut. Wanna bet that is NOT on the table?
