My personal favorite: Shouldn't the "lesson learned" be not to break the law lol?You would think. Stupid should hurt.

He has never taken one bit of responsibility for any of this. We've got him on tape. Nevertheless, he'll be out while they appeal this. I'd be shocked if he does 10 years.

::We've got him on tape.:: You're a member of the Illinois Law Enforcement Community? Federal sentencing guidelines are pretty inflexible, so if the crime points to about 10, he'll do about 10. Was he out pending the last appeal? Because that really doesn't, or shouldn't, happen to often.

He's been out the whole time- though, this isn't an appeal- this was a re-trial due to a hung jury last time. I am, however, basing this on past experience with Illinois politicians. The preceding governor, a Republican, who was ultimately convicted and sentenced to prison was out while his case was on appeal.

However, sentencing guidelines permit the judge to "combine" similar offenses. So, for example if he is convicted of 1,000 counts of soliciting a bribe, the judge could say 1 count- 5 years.

Yeah, that's pretty common in the "consecutive vs. concurrent determination. If it's part of a common scheme or plan, the sentences generally run concurrently.
But for a guy like Blagojevich, one year will be torturous to him since he's such an arrogant prick.
