I will be surprised as all hell if there is a deal with the debt reduction...Obama is now in Iowa trying to steal Palin's political thunder in that state....so he is campaigning while the dems and repubs are at an impasse on the budget spending and revenue issues.. Oh no PI you are wrong - the WH said that this is not a campaign trip.

Every word Obama says is a campaign speech. That's who he is and what he does.

Repubs know, at this point, that their jobs are on the line if they screw up and hurt this country. Dems do not have that fear, because their supporters support all the things that are taking us down. Repubs sure as hell better do what their constituents want, or heads will roll. As it should be in a gov't by the people, for the people. I see some on both sides flipping around like beached whales, because they got elected in places, and by people, that were deceived by their message. They never should have been elected if they lied, and now they need to leave ASAP. It's time to get serious, and anyone not willing needs to exit gov't. Our country is in the worst shape in my entire life. Play time for politicians is over. .... Found it strange that Texas is the only State thriving curently 237,000 jobs have been created and there are no taxes. Hmmm...someone's doing something right, so right, that people are moving down there. Get ready, Messy, here we come...ya'll come on down....

So Obama isn't allowed to campaign for his own election? a bit out side the box here - but he could actually be honest about what he's doing

So Obama isn't allowed to campaign for his own election? I do believe, with respect, we know who he is and what he is already. I do believe we have seen enough of him and his elitism. Nothing, but smoke and mirrors and good writers. Trust what he says?? Go for it!

LOL! Elitism. You mean he's not "average" enough for you? Not mediocre enough? He's not the type of guy you'd want to have a beer and choke on a pretzel with?

Elitism is a belief in entitlement. it has nothing to do with social standing. it would be best to remind people who use that word what it means every so often. tilting your nose up makes you a SNOB, not an Elitist.

Obama might be interesting to hang out with..for a few hours... does not mean he qualifies to lead the country in a time of recession and war. No way.

You think they are ALL bad, dj?? Well, God help us if you are right. I won't believe that. Yet. i will spell out EXACTLY what i think. i think that a politician is forced to "shape" himself in order to appeal to their constituency. if i am campaigning from Hearne, TX- i think it is best that i own a BBQ and know how to wear plaid. that is not going to play well in Boston, tho. if you can be sincere in EITHER place, and do the things that get you elected, bully for you. as you move up the food chain, to state politics, the job becomes increasingly difficult. to be from CA you almost have to be an actor (hint hint) to do well at the governer level, because the population is SO large and SO diverse. it is different in Alaska. you can be a little less polished there. when you get to the national level, i can't think of any way you can be anything but a fraud and win. i can articulate that more thoroughly if you don't understand why. but if you can extrapolate from the above two examples, you can guess why. every president that has been elected in my adult life has met this standard, and i have no reason to expect that to change. that is why i can't take Bachmann seriously as a candidate. i am not optimistic about her ability to appeal to people not like her. at all.

krickitt: Naw, I wouldn't want to hang with him at all. He is too "cool" and boring to me. It's the same monotone voice in every speech. Never felt sincerity from the beginning and yes, dj: he's more like a celebrity President, narcissist fits him perfectly and I prefer a regular guy around if I am going to choke on a pretzel or have a beer with. Someone who knows I am choking, rather than looking at himself in the reflection of the window. Ya know, krickitt, I like his impersonator better than him. More personality and way more humility.

Hey, dj, I did look up the word "elite" and double meaning there, including yours and mine, of " privileged groups" as in the rich, so we both win.

I just saw the campaign video done in the WH by Obama of buying a raffle ticket to have dinner with him and Joe. Obama said Joe will say "that's a big deal". Ha, he forgot one word in there. When they passed the Obama Care Bill, Joe's words were " that's a f____g big deal"...ha! Problem is they are not supposed to be raising money from 1600 P. Avenue on taxpayers dollars, it was reported.

That would be a switch, since Obama does all his other activities on taxpayer dollars (vacations, golf, hanging out with terrorists, etc.)

Google: "Obama Fundraising Video filmed at the WH", which violates campaign fundraising laws. I can't cut and paste, sorry. It's there, for a $5.00 raffle your name goes in to be picked to have a dinner with the President and VP...

I have always believed Obama to be the legitimate citizen he is. I have my reasons- and the main reason is that I know a former Secret Service agent and those people are top notch people. They keep quiet about a lot that goes on, but they take and oath and they would NOT be a part of a cover up this big. I think his citizenship / place of birth have both been examined and I think the continued debate over it really insults the geniunely good people in government who would have to be a party to one of the most heinous deceptions in our nation's history.
