I can pay my landline, cell, and car/home insurance monthly using a rewards credit card (Hilton AMEX), but no other utilities or regular monthly payments. Are there other regular bills that you can pay using your rewards credit card, and what card is it?

I pay my cable bill and FASTLANE (MA version of ez-pass) with reward cards. cable gets run through my Discover card, FASTLANE goes through my American Express Blue card. Discover is a cash back reward, AmEx is points that are redeemed for gift cards.
do you just get Hilton points, or is there other stuff you can choose from?

My telephone, internet, cell phone and DirecTV are all bundled and they go on my rewards cc. The elec comes out of the checking acct directly because they charge a service fee for cc billing. The propane bill automatically goes on the cc, but I have to pay the water bill by check. We do our own garbage disposal and put that on the cc. Ins premiums automatically go on the cc.

In addition to the bills already mentioned, I pay my monthly water/sewage/garbage payment to the city via my cash back rewards card. I put everything possible on my credit card, the exceptions are PITI, electric, and a monthly wellness plan payment for my cat. I keep hoping that Progress Energy will start taking credit cards without charging the $4 third-party convenience fee. In the past, I've used the earned rewards as fun money, but this year I've made it my Christmas savings instead.

Our cable bill is pretty steep because it's also got landline and Internet on it. I put that on an American Airlines card. I just noticed that my insurance company takes them. Didn't bother for the car insurance, which is cheap in our state, but when the Homeowners bill comes in (expensive due to tornado hazard here), that's going on a credit card.
I also make all our medical co-pays with a rewards card. They gave us a Visa card that taps directly into the Medical Spending Account but for just about any provider that does non-covered things (prescriptions from Target, the dentist where some services are cosmetic), they come back and hound you for details and threaten to suspend use of the card till you provide them. It's just as much trouble to document the claim after I pay with my own credit card, but we get the points!

I would pay more bills with my Rewards card - but the utilities charge a fee to do so. So, it's just cell phone, internet, netflix (I don't have cable).

I know my car registration charges a fee to pay online with a credit card. I guess they figure it is cheaper for me to mail a check and have someone manually enter everything.

Cell phone and tv/internet/phone package. I can't pay car insurance or life insurance with cc. I do pay balances on dr bills over the phone with the cc. Come to think of it, my car lease payment won't accept the cc either.

...I pay everything I can on the rewards CCs... just ask if they can process the auto-pay without a fee... this system works well for us and we enjoy the travel perks...

My state actually gives you a discount for completing tasks online. You can even renew your license and have it mailed to you. My sitter is 43, but her license picture is from when she was 20YO.

chiver: The Hilton AMEX does allow you to redeem points for things other than hotel rooms, but the best value for the points are the hotel rooms.
