mmhmm FYI
Moonbeam "i haven't said you demeaned anyone PI.. "
That should be the end of this discussion and just so you know I strongly oppose Same Sex Marriages and have the right to say so without a lot of ridiculous, and'or lame comments about demeaning those who do support NY.and the new law for Gays and could care less about regressed homophobia.....so deal with it you can and if not then what else can I say...??
I fully support Governor Christie remarks on this issue:
While New Jersey allows gay couples to form civil unions, marriage should be between a man and a woman, Christie said today on NBC's "Meet the Press" program. New York on June 24 became the sixth U.S. state to give gay couples the right to wed. Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the measure into law after the New York's Republican-controlled state Senate approved the measure earlier that night in a 33-29 vote. New Jersey's Senate rejected a gay marriage bill backed by then-Governor Jon Corzine in January 2010. "In our state, we're going to continue to pursue civil unions," said Christie, 48, a first-term Republican. "I am not a fan of same-sex marriage. It's not something that I support." ... "I believe marriage should be between one man and one woman," Christie said. "I wouldn't sign a bill like the one that was in New York."

It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.

Heh. I didn't say you demeaned anyone, either, P.I. I said your posts were the closest thing to demeaning posts I'd seen. I didn't count the troll's post as it was obvious trolling.
You have a right to believe whatever you wish to believe, just as I have that same right. You oppose same sex marriage. I do not. You haven't been able to show any demeaning of your stance in this thread. Moonbeam asked, and I asked. Both of us have said we don't see your stance being demeaned. The studies on repressed homosexuality made it quite clear their results didn't apply to all people who are anti-homosexual. That should be enough for you not to take the statement personally.
Oh, and I already knew you strongly opposed same sex marriage, P.I. I think everyone who reads here knows that.

I've read this thread from the beginning, and just re-read it to be sure I hadn't missed something. I really don't see anyone demeaning others for not being comfortable with gay marriage. Frankly, P.I., the most demeaning posts I've seen on this thread have been yours
Demeaning posts vs closest thing to demeaning anyone?? More ambiguity?? Or again who cares??
BTW FYI.....I purposely try my damned best to NOT demean, degrade, or denigrate anyone but do challenge their posts when I don't agree..and I know you are monitoring everything that I post...so good luck
And what was it you said a few weeks that you are fascinated by all the lies I post here?? Is that not demeaning or degrading?? Or more of your ambiguity??

You give yourself far too much credit, P.I. Frankly, I'm no more interested in your posts than I am the posts of anyone else. You're really not all that important to me.

I am glad to know I am NOT that important to you and would be concerned if I was..Ma'am with all due respects I know you said that before several times but yet keep monitoring all my posts ...why not ignore them since you compared my comments to a bag of chips...Whatever that means?? And you were extremely interested in all of my posts on this thread....more ambiguity?? Were they dense? Were they stupid?? Or consider the source?? Or who cares??

Boston also has the Stanley Cup for all it's fans to see and NYC has same sex marriages.....I prefer the Stanley Cup with all due respect to the gays or gay advocates here...just have to deal with it, I guess??
Boston has had same sex marriages for more years than they have had the Stanley Cup. Welcome aboard NY.
As Jesus Christ was represented in the bible, there's no way he'd be apt to condemn people for being different than other people. To me, he was the Man amongst men, full of understanding and compassion not hatred and bigotry.
Now lets see, Jesus was never married and I'm not sure Mary Magdalene even qualified as a girl friend. He hung around with 12 guys liked to wash their feet AND lived at home till he was 33. He wasn't Irish so what other explanation is there...he was...ahhh, tolerant?

Personally I don't think gay marriage lessens marriage, I think divorce does. I think civil unions should be allowed for any couple, gay or straight, who won't vow up front that they will never seek divorce. If you're not certain, don't say "I do" and if you do say "I do" figure out a way to work it out.

Yea but the Stanley Cup has much more significance than Same Sex Marriages...on a list of important issues the Stanley Cup is #2 and James"Whitey" Bolger is now #1 Same Sex Marriages is not even on the radar screen in Boston ...they are more worried about the Red Sox losing four games lamely and not being able to get Big Poppi in the games on this trip..

While I'm not a religious person, commentator, I must agree with your premise here. As Jesus Christ was represented in the bible, there's no way he'd be apt to condemn people for being different than other people. To me, he was the Man amongst men, full of understanding and compassion not hatred and bigotry. But, you do not agree with my premise that bluerobin's post violated the COC. For you and others who are not religious, among those who died at Sodom and Gomorrah were individuals who wished to rape some strangers in town. That it would have been homosexual rape makes it neither less about condemning rape nor more about condemning homosexuality. In my opinion, it is an easy step from erroneously stating residents of those two cities died because they were homosexuals (rather than rapists) to saying homosexuals should die today.

PI, i would say the posts you were referencing would be no more than taunting/heckling... not into the religion thing myself. instead, i try as much as possible to 'do unto others', and keep an open mind. Make a note: Taunting/heckling = ok; Personal attacks = not ok. I assert this post falls into the category of taunting/heckling.

As far as the whole gay marriage thing, I hope it leads to more liberties being given back to us.

It always makes me laugh that people relate disagreeing with the gay thing to religion. I mean-- it fits the anti-religion box, but it does not really fit reality, because many not at all religious people don't like anything gay, while many religious people have a tolerance for and love all people. But, you guys carry on. Hey, PI-- shouldn't you be posting scripture or something since this is supposed to be about the Bible and religion and all that stuff?? I don't get involved in threads like this because, frankly, I could care less who marries who, but I had to come watch the tolerant left go after one of their own because he dares to think outside the "left" box. Hell, PI-- my total lack of ire towards gays puts me outside the "right" box, so I guess we are both freaks.. or maybe we just think and feel how we think and feel all by ourselves...

Ok.... "In the beginning God created Adam and Eve"....But don't recall any mention in Genesis, or the Old Testament of God creating Adam and Steve..
