Whitey has been implemented in 19 murders in Boston, MA... I went to the same high school in Dorcester MA as his younger brother who graduated ahead of me...but how can two brothers be such opposites has always been a question among the Irish Bostonian Communities for a long time..
If Whitey decides to cop a plea to spare his life he could just reveal corruption and crime in the FBI, & Federal and State Police...he was an informant for years about the Italian Mafia even though he was the head of the Irish Mafia in Boston.
Whitey and his girl friend lived in styly in Southern CA and all his neighbors thought they were a charming older couple ...oh well Whitey was always known for having a lot of Irish Blarney but one mean and nasty dude...IMHO

I went to the same high school in Dorcester MA as his younger brother who graduated ahead of me...but how can two brothers be such opposites has always been a question among the Irish Bostonian Communities for a long time.. I went to school with the niece of Joseph A. Bevilacqua...former speaker of the RI house (late 60's) and Chief Justice of the RI Supreme Court (Late 70's) with ties to organized crime that ended his career. His son Joseph A. Bevilacqua Jr. followed in his footsteps and went to prison for a couple years for shaking down a couple of drug dealer clients from Fall River. He was convicted and disbarred along with John M. Cicilline, brother of Providence Mayor David N. Cicilline who ended up being dismissed as mayor when former Tax Collector Robert Ceprano filed a lawsuit against the City of Providence alleging conspiracy, corruption, libel and wrongful termination after he was fired amid accusations that Mayor Cicilline performed tax favors for his friends and/or campaign contributors. And so goes the politics of little Rhodie......So much corruption for a state the size of the county I now live in.

When I went to high school in Dorchester MA...we had the Irish Mafia in South Boston and Charlestown and the Italian Mafia in East Boston...and the gang wars between these two crime families was unbelievable.. they would think nothing of whacking somebody, anytime or anyplace... The Irish Mafia would make the Sopranos look like a bunch of choir boys..
And to charge Ole Whitey with only 19 murders is an understatement since he probably had three times that number killed and didn't need much of an excuse to "Whack" somebody...

ooh yeah, little Rhody. I was working an internship in the Providence area when all the stuff was coming out about Buddy Cianci. I couldn't believe half the crap I heard. RI definitely wasn't far off the crap going on up here too. I totally agree, P.I. - he's easily got 3x what they can charge him with, if not more. I honestly didn't think they would ever catch up to him. news reports this morning said that when they took him in, he slapped the younger agents on the back and said "nice job!"

He's white, and his name is whitey. Something told me this administration would find him. But seriously...he was all over Fox News the other night. You tell a few million viewers something and that's a lot of degrees of Kevin Bacon right there.

Good chance he will never see prision because if he does some con will try to improve his resume by whacking the FBI stoolie. At 81 and an embarrasement to the FBI it will be interesting to see what happens. He has got them between a rock and a hard place.

I don't think I ever met Whitey but knew of the "Winter Hill" gang in Ole Southie when we visited his territory to observe Saint Patrick's day festivities and the parade....we just assumed Whitey and his gang or Irish thugs would not whack anyone on the feast day of our Patron Saint...but that might have been a bad assumption??
I knew what he looked like and was told to never, ever call him "Whitey" because he hated that name and that he was just a "little shit" but mean as all hell..
Oh sorry or maybe glad to say I never met Whitey but did meet his brother Billy a few times at BCH alumni gatherings...

When I was in the mulch business, we had some contracts with some unsavory folks over in Forest Park, IL. Beautiful homes, but you just had a feeling something wasn't right with these people. On one job we had more goons watching than I had people doing the work.

I am surprised the Mafioso didn't whack Ole Whitey...He was responsible for putting a lot of them in Walpole State Prison for life or on death row..
And you have to believe there now will be a few books and movies about Ole Whitely Bolger....and the so called Irish Mafia..
HBO may have a series called the "The Winter Hill Gang"...

P.I. - I'm very surprised that nobody jumped on making Black Mass into a movie of some sort. it got a ton of publicity when it came out. I suppose the fictionalized version in "The Departed" should have sufficed?

Bulger fled in 1995 after a retired FBI agent who had recruited him as a government informant tipped him off that he was about to be indicted. Soon it was discovered that the Boston FBI had a corrupt relationship with its underworld informants, protecting mob figures for decades and allowing them to commit murders as long as they were supplying useful information.
Damn, the FBI is seriously dumb. They didn't even sell the information for money, free vacations, or fake votes like congress does.

Ole Whitey and his gal pal lived in Santa Monica for 15 years ...but now they may have a new address:
Walpole State Prison in Massachusetts...

I thought they caught him years ago. Ole Whitey was tipped off by an FBI Agent that they were about to arrest him so he fled ...apparently he travelled around the globe with his Moll and settled in Santa Monica CA and lived a quiet life in a rented apartment under an assumed name..
