Details: ...Even without its dismal scores in the current J.D. Power & Associates U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study of three-year-old models, the subcompact Chevrolet Aveo would still make our list for its utter lack of style and substance. Built in South Korea,...

We will also gloss over details that for a change, many new Chrysler and GM models are cracking the top 10 lists.

Built in South Korea,... Oh, great- so now we're subsidizing jobs in South Korea? And you'll note that it's the design of the car, not the quality that earned it low rankings. No features of note, and blah appearance.

Start a thread if you feel so strongly about it. I also "glossed over" the fact the higher ups at Government Motors deliberately sabotaged Toyota- one of their cheif competitors, and while under false attack-- Toyota's sales rose. We now know I was completely correct when I said it was operator error.

What is your point, that the gubmint made them make bad cars or the union did? That is correct. So the issues are unions (using as an example cars made in South Korea) and government made cars (using reviews of used cars three years old - prior to the government involvement). Dang details.

The best used Cherolet to own is a Corvette and I have been the proud owner of six Corvettes ...if you keep them in mint condition you could auction them for more than you paid for them...i.e I owned a 1962 Corvette and it costs me $3799.00 and today that corvette is worth @$150,000.00 at Sports Car Auctions..

I'm DH GM overall is making decent to good vehicles. As somebody already pointed out, Aveo is made in Korea. That was one of the worst moves GM made. Aveo is a really-really bad vehicle. However, the vehicles that GM is still manufacturing in North America are at the top or close to being the best. I owned Ford and Dodge pick-up trucks. They were OK. Now I own a GMC and I believe I'll never buy anything else but a GM pick-up. Foreign made similar vehicles don't even come close. And if I were to drive a car again my top choice would be a GM followed by a Ford. Foreign made cars are so far down on my list that I can't even see them . Yes, JD came up with this list but who's to say they are right? Toyota and everybody else have their own lemons too but I don't see JD publicizing that And yes PI, Corvette is a sweet car and they are worth a pile of money new or old but so is a T Model or a 1970's Jaguar or even better a "Shelby" Cobra!

P.I. my BIL still owns an all original 1962 Corvette it has won 5 bow ties presented to him in Bowling Green. Everything is original, even the old tube type radio still works.

427 cubic inch engine...soft top and hard top...but the thin tires and all that horsepower made the 1962 Corvette tough to drive on wet roads or sharp curves. But it had so much power it would slam your back into the seat if you stepped on the gas pedal too hard from a dead stop. Corvettes at Riverside Raceway were awesome and on a straight track they were unbeatable, but then in the curves they were slower than the Porsche

We now know I was completely correct when I said it was operator error. Sorry Paul, but I doubt every case was operator error. I have experienced a stuck accelerator on my '99 Camry. Sort of tough to blame operator error when I have to ride the brakes for about a mile before getting to a turn-off just to avoid rear-ending the car in front of me. It only happened the one time and I still don't know why because the 1999 wasn't one of the years that was supposedly having the electronics issues.

Yes, and having done it twice-- once with a Corvette (70), and once with an Impala (64)-- you know darn well that getting top dollar is a long shot. And collectibles are a different topic than trying to trade or re-sell the average ride.

There were never any electronic issues identified. Oft discussed, never verified.

Is there a Corvette show in Bowling Green? We go to Effingham, IL every year (I no longer own a Corvette, and I never showed it). I really enjoy the show and thought I might buy another vette at some point.

Never trade in a Corvette....we have Sports Car Shows out here and old Vettes will get top dollar if they are in excellent of mint condition with the necessary paperwork..
I have also seen some old Vettes that needed work get a good price by car restorers ...
