Ok, which is it, Karzi speaks with fork tongue?----------------------------------------------------
There are two reports that have just been posted.one from Debka, the other from aljazzera, same topic, entirely different tone and meaning.
debka's is stating Kharzi is P off at US for going behind his back and making deals with the Taliban beyond which the Afghan government feel is to much..selling them out so to speak AND a report in aljazeera , a matter of fact discussion that yes, talks between US and the taliban are taking place, in fact Kabul too has been in contact with elements of the Taliban, where he knows about the discussions, they too, Afghan government has been making contact with the Taliban to see if they could come into the fold so to speak, opposition party if they accept the Afghan constitution and lay down their Arms.
Very confusing and possible Kharzi said both, depending on the audience.
It was mentioned by one here, with draw 50,000 troops ASAP..I am thinking after reading these two articles, possible that is to little..say 75,000 should be more like it, ... and start to wash our hands of the whole mess. ..
Kharzi is to slippery and two faced, [corrupt too] for us...declare we won..did our job, Osama , he's dead..time for most of us to go home, good luck Mr Kharzi.
"Your now looking toward the Saudis to bail you out?..Lots a luck , or is it the old "rocks of ruk fella", your choice..

Karzai slams US, links hands with Pakistan, Saudi Arabia
DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis June 18, 2011, 5:59 PM (GMT+02:00)
" Afghan President Hamid Karzai, America and NATO's key ally in the war on the Taliban and al Qaeda, turned furiously on the United States in a public outburst Saturday, June 18. He accused Washington of carrying on talks with the Taliban behind Kabul's backs and contaminating the Afghan environment with chemical pollutants used in NATO war operations.
Karzai becomes the third head of a Muslim country, after Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, to take strong exception to US foreign policy and distance himself from the Obama administration.
Addressing an international conference of young Afghans Saturday, June 18, Karzai said: "You remember a few years ago I was saying thank you to the foreigners for their help, every minute we were thanking them. Now I have stopped saying that, except when Spanta forced me to say thank you."
(He was referring to Rangiin Spanti his national security adviser.)

aljazeera report same topic but wholly different in tone..one a matter of fact explanation and one a very P off President...
Was it a difference in reading of the one speech/talk or two different talks..two different audiences..any ideas?
Me thinks, the man speaks with a fork tongue..these media sources , debka, aljazeera, while each has their own agenda..usually are pretty straight on their analysist and if they were playing up to their own wants and leanings..I would expect the one attributed to debka to come from aljazeera actually, a bit more leaning to the other side, just the way it is.

Karzai says US in talks with Taliban
Afghan president's confirmation comes as Taliban launches deadly attacks in centre of capital, Kabul.
Last Modified: 18 Jun 2011 16:31
"The president of Afghanistan has said his government and the US are negotiating with Taliban fighters to bring peace to the country.
While officials at the US embassy in Kabul could not be immediately reached for comment, Hamid Karzai's remarks were the first official confirmation of US involvement in the negotiations.
"Peace talks have started with [the Taliban] already and it is going well," Karzai said on Saturday in Kabul.
"Foreign militaries, especially the United States of America, are going ahead with these negotiations.''
Diplomats have already said there have been months of preliminary talks between the two sides, and Karzai, who is a strong advocate of peace talks, has long said Afghans are in contact with anti-government groups.
Karzai's disclosure came a day after the UN Security Council split the UN sanctions list for Taliban and al-Qaeda figures into two, which envoys said could help induce the Taliban into talks on a peace deal in Afghanistan.
Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, earlier this year called on Taliban members to break ranks with al-Qaeda, renounce violence and accept the constitution so they can be reconciled to society.
Al Jazeera's Bernard Smith, in Afghanistan's Helmand province, said [Barack] Obama was already on record saying that to effect a political solution it was necessary to talk to the Taliban.
"It's recognition that after ten years of war they [the US] haven't succeeded in getting rid of the Taliban, in fact they are still very influential in many parts of the country," he said.
"They are agreeing to have talks with an organisation that has just claimed responsibility for yet another suicide attack in Kabul, it's a very difficult choice that had to be made."
