We have to admit that some here do , how do you say it, post stupid, idiotic, off the wall posts on any and all topics , IMHO, though mostly steered toward our beloved leader , our POTUS, and it is true, IMHO, most come from one side of the spectrum..three guesses which side, first two don't count. Actually I as a middle to the left political, you all didn't know that ? Anyway , me as a what I admitted, well I feel left out..I want to have fun too..sooooo, just spotted this none. --------------------------------------------- "DAILY DELANEY DOWNER - Steve Clark, a computer programmer in St. Louis, Missouri, lost his job in March 2009. At 62, he was terrified he wouldn't find work, so he stayed sharp by working for free in friends' offices, and within several months he landed a new job. But he's not earning what he used to, and the new job doesn't offer insurance. Clark lost his COBRA health insurance from his previous job when it ran out last August, and he's been uninsured since then. Now he's considering applying for health care reform's Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan. At his age, he could get a policy with a $2,500 deductible and a $716 monthly premium. "After my $1000 house payment, I would have $288 a month disposable income," Clark wrote. "Just to put into perspective, prior to March 2009, my net take home was about $4,600 a month and my insurance cost $130 monthly. That's what I call change. The only good news is that I didn't meet Bernie Madoff a few years back or I would have no savings either. The Tea Party and the Republicans want to repeal the healthcare reform, dispose of Medicare, and end Social Security. That would all work as long as there was universal euthanasia at 60 ---------------------------------------------------------- "The Tea Party and the Republicans want to repeal the healthcare reform, dispose of Medicare, and end Social Security. Dez the magic dragon lived in PM and made a fiery roarin' when a Pub attacked a Dem. Little Pauly Krickitt loved to tease that Dez. They'd show him Paul's chihuahua dog and claim it was the Prez.

A computer programmer lost his job, for unknown reasons, possibly due to being less valuable than other’s for his salary. At 62 it occurred to him that he should have prepared for such an emergency by saving a portion of his salary from the first 40 years of employment, so that he wouldn’t be so scared of how he would pay for medical expenses in his 60s. At his age he could get a policy for $716, but chose make house payments instead of downsizing his abode, and possibly renting or moving in with friends. The Tea Party and Republicans should have warned him, back in the 70’s, that they think he should be responsible for his poor choices.

This reminds me of the thread about Jose the floor cleaner that has over 10 pages, 300 posts about 1100 hits...Lets see what we can do here[really hope it wouldn't approach that one , no time to keep count ] -------------------------------------------------------- Not really knowing how large a mortgage is , the size of the abode, assumptions have to be made, but if one has a mortgage of $1000 per month, I will assume the abode is of very modest size, especially if taxes and insurance were included in that total, so do to down size, I am thinking to a large cardboard box under a bridge some where. The euthanasia looking better as we think about it, what was it, age 60.

Deziloooooo, It all depends on where you live. My mortgage is right at $1,000 per month (just went a little over because taxes went up) including taxes & insurance & we have a 2,800 sq ft house.

It's anecdotal at best, had the 62 yo programmer taken the time to set himself up (damn that personal responsibility) he would have not needed to worry about his retirement, if all he planned was to have SS and Medicare for his retirement he made a bad call. You say the Tea Party and Republicans should have warned him in the '70's was he a child or mentally incompetent, shouldn't he as a college educated individual known that he and only he is responsible for what choices he makes, both those made in the here and now and also those made for his future.

He’s lucky to find any job at age 62 other than being a Wal-Mart greeter.

For some of us to whom individual liberty is a sacred trust do not find the current attack on freedom by those within our government amusing. However, we do find the idiocy of those who feel entitled to rule over us quite amusing.

For example- when Barrack Obama tells people a few weeks back that one of the worst places a person can be is between Michelle and a Tamale; and a few weeks later, his car bottoms out and is stuck-- and I make the headline of that post, "Michelle, you're going to have to get out"--- THAT is FUNNY.

That makes more sense than anything else written here. The only thing that i can add is it is the Government that recieves the most entitlement and is destroying our country from the inside... Now that is some real humor.
