You won't. I wont? Tell me WHY I wont? Tell me why making drugs legal will have people who use drugs changing their user habits. And while you're at it, tell me which one/s of these people do you want behind the teller window handling your money at the bank. Never mind taking care of your children. So these are fictitious people that don't really exist right now because we have our current system, and this is what you suspect will happen if drugs where decriminalized?

Oh, they exist okay. Here's another one. Like all the others, this is the innocence they begin with: I really doubt if that is what we want to promiote by legalizing drugs.. . . . . . . but then again, , , , if I read this thread correctly it appears some people are not only willing to promote it, they seem to be looking forward to it.

I think you are completely missing the point, of course I know these people exist, and yet they exist even with the current prohibition on drugs. We are letting truly evil drug cartels reap huge monetary benefits, filling our jails and prisons with drug addicts and waisting vast amounts of police resources on trying to control this though the legal system. These resources could be better directed at education and treatment. And for the record I have never used or even tried any illegal drugs, including marijuana, i've never even smoked a cigarette, except by second hand (also second hand on the MJ)

I disagree on missing the point. I think I have the point very much identified.
As long as the border is wide open we will have a massive drug problem. Legalizing drugs will not cure the problem caused by a sieve for a border. If the boirder were closed the problem would be reduced, and the "war on drugs" would take on a completely different aspect.

How? What product will be safer because drugs are legalized? There will be no noticeable change. Drug testing will continue by employers.
What endeavor will be made safer because drugs are legalized? You will be able to walk down your street again. The illegal drug money that fuels gang activity will dry up.
What school will turn out better educated students because drugs are legalized? Again, no change. School kids can get drugs easier than alcohol now.
Billions will be saved in this un-winable war. Law enforcement can focus on true criminals.

Let's see: If the border was controlled and drugs were legalized.............. Most kids could not get drugs, just like most kids cannot get alcohol or booze. You would have to go to the drug store, sign for the drugs and show proof of age, so that would stop a lot of drug abuse. Adults give a little more thought to trying drugs. What we are now doing isn't working and it is time to try something else. If it doesn't work, we can always go back to the present day idiocy.
