RE: RENPURE REBATEI just spoke to a very rude CSR at RENPURE. She said that the $4.99 +UP was the rebate for the product. I asked why the TMF tags were on the bottles and she said that wasn't RENPURE's problem. She also said that the TMF tag specifically states that the offer is not valid with any other offers. I was under the impression that RA UPs were given by RA. Whatever deal they work out with the manufacturer is between them. All in all it was misleading....oh well...you live and you learn. skubikky: To be honest with you, I don't know where the money comes from for the UPs. We've discussed this a number of times here - whether the money comes from the retailer or the manufacturer or maybe even a combination of the two. I didn't trust the deal at RA especially since we had already been told that Renpure would not honor a rebate request that was paid for with rewards. A lot of times if a rebate or deal seems the least little bit "iffy", I take a pass or wait for confirmation that it is working (in the case of a deal). Over the years, I've just learned that it is not worth the aggravation especially if it isn't a HUGE MM (i.e. more than $10 in profit).

Skubikky - sorry you had to deal with rudeness. I don't know why they need to be rude - they can just share information.

Regarding Renpure - Has anyone used their product and liked it. I will use any shampoo, but I could not use Renpure at all. I gave away all 12 in my stockpile and don't buy them anymore even if it's a MM. As far as I am concerned, they cannot pay me enough to use their products

I got several on BF, but haven't cracked one open yet. I guess I should to see whether or not they go to donation. I think the regular price on that stuff is $6.99!! - way too much for crappy shampoo. What didn't you like about it? On the other hand, aren't we all lucky that we get to sample so many different brands for free that we can tell the difference. ;D

I had originally bought it as they had advertised it as organic and thought it would be great. Now I stick with the known brands - JF, Pantene or Aveeno. Of all the ones that I have tried, I love the Aveeno. I agree that couponing has allowed us to try so many brands for free or as MM. I would never have paid 6 - 7$ for the Aveeno, but now I can get it for free, I stockpile them all the time. Has anyone else tried the Renpure and if so how do you compare it?

I used conditioner like normal but could barely get my brush through my hair afterwards. Definitely will be tossing the rest of that bottle and donating the other ones I have.

Frugalsuz - it makes great handsoap if you have not tossed it already I like the green one, but I do go through the conditioner a lot faster than with most brands. The red one did make my hair feel dry for awhile, but it got better after a couple of days. I much prefer the green over the red, but I won't go out of my way to buy it. Free or MM, sure. Then again, my sister is a stylist and I really need to just give her the $40 to get me 2 gallons of the salon products. That should last about a year. Trying to use up my coupon stash while we wait on a good sale at the salon beauty supply store. Otherwise Dove & Aveeno are my preferred choices.

As far as I am concerned, they cannot pay me enough to use their products saveinla, DBF likes it and I was just going to get one more for him. He's into the natural stuff. I haven't tried it yet myself. There was some talk about sunscreen a few pages ago. A few years ago I bought some and couldn't believe the expiration date was the end of 2011! It seemed like years and years away, and here it is, getting close to expiring. How the time flies. It's the 3 oz. size but it was marked down to 25 cents so I bought 10 of them at the time. I have three more to use this summer. Still discussing wedding plans with DBF (or DF, I guess.) Everything I want to do to save money, he thinks it looks cheap. I don't know why he always wants the most expensive thing. Good thing he gets no say in the price of the dress I buy!

Still discussing wedding plans with DBF (or DF, I guess.) Everything I want to do to save money, he thinks it looks cheap. I don't know why he always wants the most expensive thing. Good thing he gets no say in the price of the dress I buy! Sounds just like DH and I when we got married! This is when you learn what marriage is all about - compromise! DH comes from money, I don't. But it was my family that was paying for most of the wedding. I'm frugal by nature and DH is not. We decided that we'd pick certain aspects of the wedding that were most important to us (like the photographer, b/c you won't remember anything from that day!) and that's what we splurged on. We figured anyone can play some songs and announce our arrival at the reception so we got a cheap DJ. At first, DH wanted an expensive dinner menu but I convinced him that it would cheaper, less pretentious and more fun if we got my family friends (who own a catering business) to set up a soul-food buffet - fried chicken, biscuits, gravy, greens, mac n cheese, etc. We bought keg beer and served scuppernog wine from a local winery. Everyone just loved it and it set the tone for a fun, laid-back reception. Many of our guests told us it was the most fun wedding they had been to in a long time and the only time they'd ever left a wedding feeling full! Good luck with the planning! It will go by so fast. Whatever you plan, just stop yourself and take it all in every so often. And don't forget to smile! ;D

Hmmmm...I haven't tried the Renpure yet. It smells so good. But dry hair is the LAST thing I need. I have to use multiple conditioners, & leave-in products & anti-frizz as it is.

Yeah, I don't like it either. I've been trying to use it once in awhile, since I opened it, but, it's pretty crappy as far as I'm concerned. I even use the extra conditioner (in the green tube) and it doesn't help much...

You can always use the Renpure conditioner as shaving cream. I bought some really cheap conditioner (I think I paid less than $.25 for it?) and use it in the shower just to shave my legs and arms.

That is quite brilliant - especially since I haven't seen free shaving cream in quite awhile. ETA: For that idea:

Hello ladies!! I stopped at the gas station a couple of weeks ago and found a tearpad of Q's hanging on the cooler door for OJ (Simply brand) for .50/1 I helped myself to a couple, hoping that the single serves would go on sale for $1. Well, they did finally, so I sent what I had to work with DH to pick up for me. He ended up with 12 bottles for free. Weds was the last day of the sale, so I made him take me to the store (still not driving yet) but we swung by the gas station first for more Q's. Since it had been about 3 weeks since I had found them, I was shocked that it appeared to be exactly the same as what I left before, so I took the rest (15) and bought a bottle of water. Long story short, my total was 80.xx before Q's and OOP 30.xx and got back 11.00 in CATS. This week the single serve Nesquicks are free after Q's. I may stop tomorrow after my Dr appt to pick up a few, since we got our RP in the mail on Tuesday. I also need to get BB turkey bacon for .35 after Q this week at a local drug store. Whew, I am tired just thinking about it.
I also need to burn $20-ish in UPS by Saturday, got any suggestions? I will even get the horrible s/c and give it to my DD to use if I have to, I do not need more frizz, I have enough of that already! with the humidity, I rinse the conditioner out of my hair, then put a dime size back on the ends without rinsing. It helps tremendously!
