I'm thinking of installing a security system in my house due to me being a single female living alone, and reading the news doesn't make me feel so safe. I don't have a phone line and really don't want one installed. Does anyone have a security system using a cell phone? What would you recommend? Thanks!

We have a secuirty system with Vivint and they use a cell card and not a landline. We have had them for about a year and so far so good. I am not sure how the pricing is since DH takes care of it.

I've actually been checking into them. So far they are pretty affordable.

I can tell you to avoid Icon Security. Their customer service is the worst I have ever encountered.

We have a cell based line for our alarm system also. DH got this just in case some bad guy thought he could bypass the alarm by cutting the phone line. I think our company ADT, was recently bought out by GE. ? We used to have Brinks before we bought our home. They were very good.
