Ok, Charlie was fine for a week, hardly any change in her behaviour. Now since Thursday she has diarhea, throws up most of the food she eats and is much quietter than normal though she still likes to run around when I take her for a walk. She is getting lots of water and peeing so I don't think she is dehydrated. I'll call the vet tomorrow but have any of you seen this before?

My vet didn't offer take home pain meds for Mokey's neuter, but I got them big time after his UTI surgery. I should have asked for some of my own because dosing the monster twice daily with post-op antibiotics was definitely painful to me.
He also has a really bad reaction to vaccinations, howling in pain, limping, bad swelling at injection site, etc. so the vet has me start him on Benadryl for 2 days prior to his shots and continue for two days after. It makes him very sleepy but really cuts down the reaction.
Benadryl is also wonderful for dogs or cats that freak out at storms, fireworks and such because it really takes the edge off their anxiety and is much cheaper that tranquilizers.
OMG, the burrito description was the best! No one can tell me that the online video about how to swaddle your cat in a towel for treatment was done without meds for both kitty and human. I personally recommend one pill for kitty and one drink for human, repeated as necessary.

A few tablespoons of canned pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie mix) will help with the diahhrea ~ just add it to her normal food. You can check her gums for dehydration ... pale gums can indicate dehydration.

What a cute puppy and what a great idea for a replacement for the cone of shame. A doggie apron. Cute, cute, cute.
