snark much? his coat sleeves, with a bent arm, showed about as much of his shirtsleeve as that of the straight-armed Duke of Edinburgh, on the other side of the Queen. as far as the whole arrangement - why was Camilla, of all people, seated next to the Prez?

His sleeves are short when he is walking beside the queen too. Looked plain silly. He needs better advice in every single area of his presidency including wardrobe apparently. Looks like he dragged an old prom tux out of the closet or someone loaned it to him or he rented it from a second rate establishment. Seriously.
Protocol dictates who is seated where.

so I guess the Duke needs the same help? again - he's showing the same amount of shirtsleeve, straight-armed, as our President is showing with a bent arm.

LONDON - Do Brits think Barack Obama is a bit of a “smart alec”? The label certainly appears to fit in the minds of British police. Scotland Yard, the UK’s police force, has given Obama the security codename ‘Chalak‘ for his visit this week to the United Kingdom, the UK Daily Mail reports. The term is reportedly a Punjabi word meaning someone who is too clever for his own good, according to the newspaper. A Punjabi speaker told the newspaper that the word is ‘not considered rude’, but could be ‘mildly offensive’. “It is also said to mean ‘cheeky, crafty and cunning’,” the paper notes. Scotland Yard insiders told the Sunday Times that codewords are randomly generated by computer, “but the paper wondered why officials decided to stick with them, when they could have simply had another word selected that would be less provocative,” the paper notes. As in UK, security code names are used in America by US Secret Service to identify high-profile individuals under their protection. Obama’s code name at the time of the 2008 election was ‘Renegade’ and Michelle Obama’s was “Renaissance.” Secret Service code names typically change over time. nation.com.pk/pakistan-news-newspaper-daily-english-online/Politics/25-May-2011/Obama-gets-Punjabi-code-name-in-UK

See now, these sleeves fit. And this sleeve is too short. See all the wrist? Looks pretty bad, especially when the coat has tails.

seriously - in your second pic, the Duke's sleeve is shorter than Obama's. you need to find a new hobby....you're not doing so well in picking on the President for trivialities.

I'll bet you wear your sleeves too short too. You obviously don't have an eye for fashion.

Actually, while I rarely dress up like that anymore being unemployed, by choice I may add, I was thinking I like his suit , the last time I watched him on TV the other day, tie too, so I guess fashion is in the eyes of the beholden. {Seriously I was thinking that about, to me a dark Grey, possible dark Blue suit. While on that, I wonder if POTUS do the foreign label, $1500 hundred dollar wardrobes per..same with the shirts and all , any one knows. Marsha, you seem to know all those little tidbits, the guy is a millionaire after all, don't think a off the rack would do it}

It's one finger! That's all the room you should have at the collar. Room to put one finger in your collar. Good heavens! This is getting embarrassing. I think the Queen looks great for her age. She looks wonderful. Has a glass of barley water every day of her life last I heard.

Is this recent? I thought the Queen didn't want "that woman" anywhere near her ever again. I don't blame her.

A scotch .. possible a bit of water. Good Lord! Barley water is a British drink, non-alcoholic, made like tea but with barley instead of tea leaves. The barley is boiled in water and then strained and drunk, usually with lemon and sugar.

"Dubonnet Cocktail According to several internet sources, Queen Elizabeth's favorite cocktail is the Dubonnet Cocktail. Here's a recipe from About.com: The Dubonnet Cocktail or Zaza Cocktail Originally an un-garnished cocktail from the 1930's, the Dubonnet Cocktail is now often served with a twist of lemon (sometimes an orange peel) but has fallen into obscurity in recent years. The Dubonnet Cocktail is said to be a favorite of Queen Elizabeth II, her mother preferred it served served on the rocks. This cocktail is also known as a Zaza.
