www.theblaze.com/stories/college-students-sign-petition-to-ban-rush-beck-from-radio-but-love-free-speech/EDUCATION COLLEGE STUDENTS SIGN PETITION TO ‘BAN’ RUSH, BECK FROM RADIO — BUT LOVE FREE SPEECH Posted on May 20, 2011 at 8:54am Oliver Darcy is doing his part to expose liberal ideas and hypocrisy on college campuses. Last month he produced two videos showing students willing to redistribute wealth but not grades and also refusing to pay their share of the national debt. Now he (along with his colleagues Michael Fincher and Maurice Lewis) is back, and this time he’s showing how college students who say they support free speech are willing to sign a petition to “ban” Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and other conservatives from the airwaves. In the video, the students are not only willing to sign the petition, but some even offer their thoughts on Beck and those like him. “That guy’s a douchebag,” one guy says of Beck. “He’s an a**.” “I hate them bastards,” another man says, even after telling the petition author that in America Beck and others should have a right to say what they want. He signs the petition anyway. The group’s website, Exposingleftists.com, explains: Today, many want to limit the speech of those they disagree with, primarily conservative republicans. In 1949, the Fairness Doctrine was introduced under the FCC. Under Reagan, in 1987, the FCC ended the doctrine. While Democrat-controlled congresses have tried to make it law again, Republicans and those who support free speech oppose their efforts to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. To begin the limitation of political speech and dissent would lead us to a downward spiral of freedoms. As the last bastion of freedom in the world, we must fight to retain our most important right, and failure is not an option.

This kid does good work on college campuses exposing how little these voters know. I look forward to more from him. Definitely they don't understand the system we live under, just turn the dial to another station, but how is that different from those here on our tiny site who plead for less from the left, more from the right as far as moderators , where that is not a thought for most, just do your job, fairly and is done. How many times have we seen cons here bemoan the fact that they are so uncomfortable here and are leaving forever plus a day, since they feel so over whelmed, yet in reality, as many if not more, who's counting, from their side are here and present. Tell me when one from the left complained so much along the same lines.

Here's some comments from that site:
I’d probably get thrown out for punching one of these kids in the face. [LOL, but liberals are the violent ones]
They want to ban conservatives from the airwaves – then I want to ban the liberals (Mathews et al). All things being equal & such
They should not be allowed to vote….PERIOD.
The voting age should be changed from 18 to 35.
Children should be seen and not heard.
Well, it’s fact, the lower your IQ the more likely you are to be liberal. Why don’t we ban stupid people from reproducing instead of limiting free speech?
Hey, so does that mean that since I hate liberal progressive controlled lame stream media and radio outlets that I can start a petition to get them banned as well.
That’s IT!!!!! I’m starting a petition to BAN LIBERALS in the U.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
typical ******* the only ones they want to have free speech is themselves. i dont know about the rest of you but its about time we REAL AMERICANS marched on dc with ropes and pitch forks. we seem to have a bunch that think they can do as they damn well please. well if they can then we can. the rule of law means nothing to them then why should we care about what we do to these CRIMINALS.
Just remember, when the SHTF, sh 0%oot anybody that you percieve to be between the ages of 17 and 25 in the head. Unless of course they portray themselves to be non-communist.
Hugh, the bottom line is this, if and when the SHTF your primary duty as a patriot and that of all americans is to seek out and destr@oy all “teachers and university professors” like you would if you were killing rats and mice.
Rose-Ellen: please go hang yourself or better yet, go walk in front of a union-driven, no passenger having public transportation bus. In other words, die beeyotch!

If you've been back-patting yourself before you read this post, now would be a good time to stop.

Yes, we should change & be like the liberals. Say stuff in public to urge on our radicals to go out & kill people. Yea Liberals!! (All liberals MUST think that way because some of them did it & everyone know that all conservative are the same so all liberals must be the same too!).

Back to the purported OP topic. I don't want to waste my laptop resources on watching the video. Are the student's circulating a petition to ban Beck from their college radio stations, local stations, or are they tilting at windmills and trying to get him off all US radio stations?
You can be for free speech but not want to support someone you don't want to listen to locally.

The truth is that both liberals & conservative have radical elements.
While we are at it let's get back to western justice...meaning lynchings yes this is genius plan I am so smart.
But it's VERY common for liberals to call conservative killers (like above). The problem is that the religious right is against abortions & liberals are for the right of choice so....it sounds to me like the big difference is the age of the person to be killed is the only real difference. Liberals are killers too (in other words). Either of us (conservatives or liberals) calling the other killers is just stupid.
(PS: I am getting tired of it too!)

Optimist4Life your right. To me it's a matter of free speech & it should be the same for everyone that calls themselves American. While I may not agree with what someone says I sure support their rights to say it. And those aren't just words to me. I believe that the moment you let someone ban someone else from saying what they want to (within limits - fire-theater) then they have the right to ban what you want to say. If one group loses their constitutional rights, then we can all lose them.

They've managed to dumb themselves down enough to vote for a community organizer with no experience and a hate on for America.

Oh give me a break I was just poking fun of the quotes Lak posted. I don't think all republicans all killers that is just rediculous.

One of my favorite liberal myths is that the left is the repository for intelligence in the world. I still wanna see Barry's college transcripts-- and for extra fun, I'd like to see them compared to George W. Bush's transcripts. I'd bet my WHOLE real estate portfolio that George W. Bush was a better student.

I LOVE The Blaze, too!! Beck is kicking butt!!! LOL!!! All 3 of this kid's college petitions have been posted on this board, and all are equally revealing. You'd think his face would be up on bulletin boards by now on campuses-- do NOT talk to this man!! LOL!!!

Actually, liberal IQs are ten points higher than strong and wrong Cons. Google it. I say bring back the fairness doctrine, so Rush, Glenn , Savage can't lie and lie and lie without an argument- ruins the discussion, people don't know how to argue civilly anymore. Cons fear facts!!

Honestly, I wonder about the intelligence of any conservative, liberal, independent, whatever who repeats or makes up this tripe. When I read too many liberals are this or conservatives are that statements I want to slap the authors upside the head into next week if not farther.

Optimist-- did you watch the video yet, or still low on comp resources? It's funny you are participating in a thread you admitted to not reading (viewing) the first post.

Few groups better exemplify the "herd mentality" than liberal university students and faculty...at least for the teachers, it's well known that if you don't toe the line at a liberal university, your job is in jeopardy...

Krickitt, I'm always low on computer resources. I have 250MB memory total and I'm running Norton Antivirus. I read the post, but did not watch the video. I'm wondering why you left out exactly where these students are trying to ban him from, i.e. local radio or elsewhere?
I spend over an hour this morning after getting my laptop out of sleep mode trying to actually do something. I'm not wanting to repeat the experience as Norton seems to take watching video as you are doing nothing. Its not infrequent it hangs a video I'm watching on Hulu because it feels it has something necessary to do right now for way too long.
ETA: I watch very few videos posted on Proboards. I often close webpages when the story I'm trying to follow shows up in video or slideshow form.

"it's well known that if you don't toe the line at a liberal university, your job is in jeopardy... " whereas at conservative or religious universities they welcome you with open arms. (forgot this, in case its not obvious. )

My old comp was that way. I had to get a new one,and it runs Norton as if nothing is going on. Okay, I understand. Hey, on my old comp it was so ridiculous I actually deleted my purchased Norton and installed free Avast and CCleaner, then my comp ran well.
