Having trouble finding acrylic paint online. Or at least acrylic paint I am willing to pay for a nine year old who is death on art supplies to use. May God have mercy on my soul. I already told Gwen I am not going to go out for art supplies for the next couple weeks. We got enough in her tubes that as long as they stay in the baggies while not in use will get her through a couple weeks. I DID find a pour paint kit that according to Amazon should arrive next week along with some fresh canvas. That will make Gwen excited.

That's the way to make them hate science, if I ever heard one! 😆 But it's true! I should throw in an empty tube and turn off the timer so they screw up incubation times if I want it to be really accurate If they can do all that and not go insane they may destined to be a scientist. 🤣 And if you want to work in pharma, write neatly and learn to initial and date things hundreds of times a day. And make sure to learn to write a date in international date format. My company recently switched date formats and it caused major anxiety for many.

I can add in working under USDA regulations too! I yell at them when they scribble out a word/write over a letter! Then make them cross it out with a single line, initial and date. Do that multiple times a day. AND wait several days to spring yet another one on them that they don't remember doing a week before.
Yeah ..that will make them love science.
I make a mistake at home now writing something and I get anxiety if I don't cross, initial and date.

Aerospace/FAA is the same way. I cross out, initial and date every time I make a mistake now.

The lady at the registration desk was impressed with how tiny I could write. She said I was the only person who fit my name on that line. I said I have to write really tiny for a living this is actually a bigger space than I'm usually afforded.

I picked up the school packets today for both kids. We printed off one for C, from his school's FB page over the weekend but it seems different from the one I got today.

I am not even sure where my kids' packets are at this point. I am going to try to get them into a routine for DH's sanity but honestly since it's only 2.5 months till the end of the year and they are kindergarten/4th grade students I am not going to kill myself trying to do school work/home school on top of everything else. Shit the phone is educating them better than I can. Abby comes back spouting off facts from YouTube that I've had to Google.

It gives them something to work on. DH is home with them so he's the one that's going to be/is/has been handling homework and/or keeping them out his way while he's working.

How do you communicate to kids that if you have to go to the grocery store every five minutes because they are eating you out of house and home that you are likely to contract a virus, die and take them all down with you? I didn't realize how much they eat till they were home all day. They've only been home two and a half weeks and already they've gone thru multiple packages of yogurt, waffles and other snacks. I bought a 20 pack of Gogurts on Saturday and there are FIVE left. FIVE. I told them that is it for awhile once this gone it's gone so they better learn not to be picky real damn quick or they are going to starve. Their choice I am done trying to get through to them. I just want to cry. I am trying so hard to NOT grocery shop and I got three other people eating everything in sight. I've spent more in a month on groceries than I usually do in several trying to stock pile and then replace whatever they consume. We;re going to borrow my dad's Costco membership. They are much less chaotic/crowded than Sam's according to my dad and they have TP. I'll send DH this time and he can see if they have bulk yogurt and maybe buy a couple packages.

The one near me had stoneyfield version of gogurt. I can't comment on the price, but Costco is way cheaper for their yougurt smoothie drink than what I get at the grocery store. I've seen chobani and liberte yogurt as well - both are variety packs in case you're flavor specific. That's all I can remember if there's a preference in your house. Once the one near me started putting limits on everything I hadn't seen anything decimated in mine except freaking ramen noodles. The fresh veggies and fruit are plentiful near me. Lots of not refrigerated snack options - I know they have some more healthful options.

I loathe yogurt. I've tried numerous brands and they all taste/smell like spoiled milk to me. As far as I can tell the kids don't have a flavor preference.
I had no idea how much of their food consumption during the day was from school breakfast/lunch. Totally getting now why the cereal aisle at Wal-mart was devestated.

I don’t think you can borrow a Costco card ? They have members name and pictures on them . ? And they check them when you check out .

We leave off the gonna die part, but have been pretty blunt that we cant go often and lots of things arent there when we do so we have to make do and reduce whining.
We don't buy many single serve or snack options. It's just too easy to endlessly eat if you can grab it and go, so someone is always cooking it seems. Anything that can be more of a snack/binge item we are buying things we like but don't love.
I used to complain about how much I had to feed them but when we can't go out for anything it is more like camping. The entire day revolves around cooking your next meal and cleaning up your last one. And keeping up at work, and distance learning with the kids, and extra outside exercise to keep up everyone spirits. I'm going to need time off to relax when everything is said and done (just hope I get to do that with pto and not unemployment).

IDK know about CostCo but at Sam's I flash my card and they never actually check to see if my picture matches I suppose we'll find out Dad might have to make a run and we pay him back. Either way he's willing to let us use it to get TP.

I'm not sure about Costco either, but at Sam's I use the self checkout. No one is looking at my picture.

I'm kinda working off of my sister's deal with her girls, from about 15 years back. "Put what you want on the grocery list. I'll buy it and if you eat it all on day 1, too bad. I'm not going back to the store until next week." I keep a snack bin in the kitchen. If the kids eat/drink everything in it, oh well. There's lots of apples, cheese sticks, and carrot sticks in the fridge.
I admit, I'm not home with them during the day. I did ask dh if there was anything he wanted less of in the snack bin/beverages for the kids. They really like the Nesquik fake milk drinks, gatorade, fruit punch stuff but I don't think it's particular good for them in the volume they are drinking. Ok, that's mainly C.

Our Costco doesn't have self checkout but I've heard that within the last year or two they've been matching the name on the Costco card with the name on the credit card. Pictures were never checked as they look like a blob.

I went into a Costco about a year ago with a friend and they matched her name to the one on the card. Sam's doesn't that I know of. I usually use the self checkout. They don't ask me for a card to enter the store.

Maybe bring his credit card, ID and a signed note that says you are shopping for him because he's high risk.

I've been to Costco a couple times during all this and they haven't been as on the ball as they usually do. Mine has a self checkout and before the people running the checkouts checked your ID to your card, but now those people are sanitizing each station between customers and they haven't checked anything the last two times I went.

You could also have him buy you a Costco gift card. You can get in without a membership if you have a gift card to spend.

We had a FaceTime chat with M’s favorite daycare teacher, and I found out the daycare actually closed last week. 😕😢 I knew numbers were down, but they have enough hospital workers’ kids I assumed they’d be able to stay open. It’s part of a national chain, and she said all but 2 of them in this area shut down, at least temporarily. All of the staff except the manager was laid off, and the manager is helping at one of the centers still open. I am heartbroken for them - the staff is incredible, and many of them have been there 10+ years or longer.

Holy a bunch of words that are banned by the COC.
Was out at the resturant tonight like every Saturday night. I have no idea WTF happened but all of a sudden my brother and dad were swearing at each other. Then next thing I know they are on the floor in a fucking fist fight! Rolling all over the floor and knocking over stuff.
And there were customers! Fortunately they left before the fist fight but they heard the swearing. The door couldn't mask the noise as well as I hoped.
My brother is off walking home God knows where because my dad took back the car. Both are trying to justify themselves.
They did this in front of DH, myself, B's girlfriend AND Gwen. I have never seen Gwen so upset.
I quit. I said I am leaving and taking my daughter home. Add to it Abby was over at my mom's and I don't want either one of them making it to the house before I do. My dad has tried to call a couple times but I hung up.
Unforgiveable. I no longer care what happens, they can burn the place to the ground for all I care. They've ruined one of the few places lately I've been able to enjoy myself and forget the world is burning. Acting like high school punks in the parking lot. They are 60 and 30 for pete's sake!!
DH is going back because we left B's girlfriend all alone and that is not fair. If it was just my dad we would have left him to fend for himself. I told DH to tell them that unless they get their shit together I am not working out there anymore. I refuse to be a part of it.
