Sorry Taz. We are out of school until April 10 at least. Work went work from home last night. This is spring break week, so I did send the kids to my parents house for the week. Ben's teacher is going to email out a page of activities to do each day. Jocelyn's teacher stopped by last night with things for her to work on. I had an interesting experience yesterday. I joined a Facebook group to help people out. Someone neat me couldn't get out for a multitude of reasons with 2 kids. So brought over groceries, mostly from my basement and it was eye opening. The apartment complex was run down, there were people going through the dumpster pulling things out, the outside door to the 4 Plex didn't actually shut. This is a place less than 2 miles from my house. My pastor volunteers at that elementary school and he had told me about what some of these kids don't have, but I don't usually see it. I brought a lot because I am apparently a hoarder. Included in the pile of stuff was ice cream (because why not and it isn't my kids favorite and they would complain) and apples. The younger kids is 7 and went to his 9 year old autistic brother "this is the lady who brought us apples". I also brought over old Nat Geo Kids and Ranger Rick magazines. The mom was thrilled with them. Anyway, I got in the car and just started crying. I am so lucky in this world. My kids can complain about the type of ice cream they have. I get to have a job. My husband gets to stay home. For the first time in 6 days I actually fell asleep easily. That my brain didn't go nuts with anxiety. You are amazing. Thank you. I remember when you gave a ride during the polar vortex to the woman who was walking to work across the bridge. You have a good heart. ETA: I have not forgotten your kind offer of help when I had gall bladder surgery 3 years ago this month and my sister was being a POS.

I had recorded LegoMasters but hadn’t been able to watch it yet until last night. While I laying down and letting the medicine do it’s thing (it did), DD and I watched the 1st 2 episodes. We really liked it! Glad I kept the series recording. We found what they built really interesting!!

We're liking legomasters too. I think I'm an episode behind the kids now though.

Just caught the last episode of Lego last night. DH keeps watching it without me. I quite like the newlywed couple.

Much much better and as the days went by this week finally not saying that I am over reacting by isolating our family. He is cleared to return to work on Monday but of course the preschool he teaches is closed. He is setting up a FB page for his families to keep their kids engaged. Our daughters will be helping. More worried about myself as I went from one stressful situation to another. Plus working full time from home in the life insurance industry which is a tricky stressful business right now. Thanks for asking!

Poor Gwen. She finally lost it because we told her that she cannot go out to the resturant with us anymore until this clears. We can't have more than 10 people and it has to be employees/customer only. We also don't want someone narking on us because they see a kid in our waiting area. My heart breaks for her. I hope this is over with in a few months for her sake. No way can she handle 18+ months of being cut off from so many of the things she loves.

Officially schools are closed through the 17th, but they have us picking up the kids school supplies and workbooks so I really doubt anyone's going back this year.

We are officially closed this coming week yet, but everyone I talked to in local districts was preparing for at least 8 which is pretty much it.

Shelter in place starts for us at 12am on Tuesday for 30 days. My mom made it here, so she’s going to stay with us for that duration (or longer, if needed). Tomorrow is my first WFH day since this started, DH will be working from home, and my mom and both kids will be here. This is going to be interesting.

The kids have their 2 and 4 year appointments this Wednesday, can't decide if it would be better to get them out of the way or postpone. I know DS is getting 4 shots but I think DD is all caught up. We're leaning towards just taking DS.

According to Abby when my parents were little they did not have cars, they had to ride their bikes on the interstate.
The inner workings of that kid's mind are an enigma.
Gwen has really leaned into her art lately. I am going to have to look for paints online to buy because while for her they are essential I am not sure I want to constantly brave Walmart for them. To her delight I cut the tops off her current paint and showed her there was more in there than she thought. They are all in plastic baggies so they don't dry out. I also bought her primer so we could paint the used canvases and I am going help her sand them down so we can reuse them.

We're leaning towards just taking DS. What is your ped’s office doing to prevent exposure? Ours is doing well visits in the mornings and sick visits in the afternoon. Anyone with a fever uses a separate entrance and they’re limiting which exam rooms have sick kid checks in them. While I’m still not sure I’d take my kids in for a week visit now (but to be fair, we have community exposure going on with covid19), I’d feel better about it if I did specifically because of some of the things our ped’s office is doing.

They are doing routine visits in the morning, sick in the afternoon, far end of the waiting area for sick kids, and only necessary number of caretakers. If we don't reschedule DH and I both plan to take them and I will wait in the car with the kids until they are ready to see them. DD goes completely insane in the waiting room and crawls around under chairs so we usually end up outside with her anyway.

I took C to Target with me yesterday. We bought him pants and a tshirt, a pillow for me, and a ball. Then we went to the playground near one of his friend's house and I let the Mom know we were there. She brought him over. We stayed a good 6 feet apart while the boys ran around and played with the ball. After 30 minutes, we were done freezing and each went home. C so needed to run around with a friend. Even if it was 35 degrees.
DH took K to Whole Foods with him. Now K is jealous that she didn't get a new pillow.

Hi , I don’t know what kind of paints you buy for her , but Joann Fabrics sell all kinds . The stores are still open . Ugh , I know cuz I work there . Corporate is saying we are essential . Anyway , we have buy online , pick up at store . And now we are offering curb side pick up if you don’t want to come into store . 😀

I will buy online. Walmart has them but I made the mistake of going on Sunday and. . .eesh. I don't know what it is about Walmart shoppers around here vs Target shoppers but I'm sticking to Target from now on for my apocalypse needs. Forget to check to see if they had paint while I was there.
You have my sympathy about being still open. While I can make a case that what I do "essential" IMO t's a flimsy one because there are still traditional treatments available. What is more unreasonable to me is that my department is expected to function like the world is not ending. One chick is going to get her face smashed in if she shows up in person. At least three of us will be competing to be first in line.
There should be restrictions on what is allowed. Both because PPE is getting in short supply and because other things may go with it. Conservation should start now, not when we have no choice but are staring down three full boxes of samples with requests for extra testing.

DH is stepping up around the house, finally. He got trash and recycling out and got a couple loads of laundry going. Plus did some light cleaning in the bedrooms. My depression is kicking my butt again. I basically come home, deal with food and the dishwasher (which may be leaking) and crash on the couch with a book and don't move until bedtime. I just want to sleep for a week.

Yeah, we upped my meds at the end of Jan. from 50 mgs to 100 mgs of sertraline. And I'm trying to remember to take vit D and E daily. I'm also drinking a lot less than I was last Nov.
ETA - I also saw her at the end of Feb, for my annual physical.

Wisconsin Beth, maybe you should give your doctor a call. Better than just putting up with depression, which tends to worsen.
