This is so flippin' true. I was just telling DH this. ohmom: Summer is notoriously slow anyway, but somehow this "feels" different to me. DH needs (2) low back beach chairs for a blues concert he and DBIL are going to on Saturday, so I am going to spend down my EBs on a couple of cards and get them at CVS for FREE (except sales tax of course). Then I'll just sit back and wait very patiently for a really awesome deal before I jump back into CVS. It's ironic that this Extreme Couponing show has come out and gotten a lot of people riled up to find these great deals and now they just aren't out there - not like they have been. I don't know if it is a coincidence or the economy or what. I am thankful that I have sufficient stockpiles for most of the non-perishable products that we use on a regular basis that I don't really need to chase a deal that is "just okay".

2KIDS: Would you share the site that you get those cards? Thanks I have used www.giftcardgranny.com/ I did not get 12% off but I did get maybe 6%-10% off on a couple of JCPenny gift cards. I've never had a problem with the card being worth less than it was advertised as.

Back in March right before tax time, Lowes was advertising 10% rebate to your gift card. Minimum purchase was $500, max was $4000. We are planning on getting a second fridge or upright freezer, so DH put $1000 on the gift card, got the additional $100 as well. Now we're just waiting for a good sale.

soon,
we did that, too.
Gift card site:
I think the site we used was ABC giftcards.
They run different specials from time to time. Not all stores get the same discount. Usually, it's a 8% discount. But when they get lots and lots for a particular store, wait for it... wait for it.... BAM! They go on sale!
Walmart, they don't discount very much.
It's worth it if you know you're going to be making a major purchase!

If you have a Chase Freedom CC, they often discount the gift cards on Ultimate Rewards - not a ton, but you can get a $25 card for $20 in points, $50 for $40, etc. I used the heck out of that last year before Christmas, there are a few relatives who actually like getting gift cards ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)
