For the seventh year in a row, a survey of chief executives has ranked California as the nation's worst state in which to do business. More than 500 U.S. CEOs polled by Greenwich, Conn.-based Chief Executive magazine based their opinions on numerous factors, including regulations, tax policies, work force quality, education resources, quality of living and infrastructure. www.sacbee.com/2011/05/05/3604992/chief-executives-say-california.htmlAs goes California, so goes the nation. See what happens when liberals rule the roost?

MDW, there is a video last post in Cinco de Mayo you would like (not really) to see. Had to attach it to an existing illegals thread, so no one saw it. Think things are bad in our part of the country NOW.......... just wait. They are far from through wiping out our part of the country IF we let them.

Yes, I saw it. More bleeding heart liberal claptrap.
BTW, the newspaper I quoted in the OP is a liberal rag that makes the NYT look like it was published by Mike Savage. They bypass the fact that it is ruinous taxes and regulations that are driving businesses out of state, most of them to Texas.

I wonder why they need all of those taxes & of course all those regulations........... Could it be because they lead the nation in social programs?
Maybe if they get rid of those....No, never mind. ;D (But us Texans do love all that money coming in. Who knows, maybe we will balance our budget after all).

So other states are doing a better job of serving their masters than California?

So other states are doing a better job of serving their masters than California? Nope. CA leads the nation in bowing to illegal immigrants, as they most often vote Democrat.

Whenever you're done patting your back, see which states lead in teenage pregancies, divorces, infant mortality rates, auto fatality rate, life expectancy, poverty, rape rates, etc.

It is difficult to do business here in CA. I have been a progressive my whole adult life. I have no problem paying taxes and helping my fellow citizen/ legal resident if needed. The problem is, our taxes are being raised to extreme levels and the ones who are reaping the benefits of our taxes are the illegal immigrants. CA is going through major financial crises. Our state govt. solution is to keep raising taxes. Again, I am for paying taxes, but not if the money is going to subsidize illegal immigrants and their children.

True, but in our city we accept only clean business such as national headquarters or banking. You can send your heavy manufacturing or industrial companies down south and let them pollute the already dirty air.

Actually, you (CA) are in better financial health than we are. Projected deficits as a percentage of budgets for fiscal 2012. Nev. 45.2% NJ 37.4% Texas 31.5% CA 29.3%

SweetVrginia doesn't it matter to you that those little kids need eat, go to school, be dressed, & of course get medical care just like the government is doing for all little kids? Just because they are the kids of illegals who broke the law shouldn't mean that they shouldn't get everything free. Why without all that stuff they could starve. Looking at it like you stated (where you object to your tax dollars being spent on illegals is almost, almost, well........a conservative view point. And acknowledge that a state could actually spend to much money, well that IS a conservative view (most liberals don't believe that's even possible). Could it be that your coming over to the dark side? (If so, WELLCOME!).

Don't get your hopes up. Ms. SweetVrginia is about as anti-illegal immigrant as they come but that is about as far as it goes. She loves big unions, Code Pink, ACLU and probably even the Panthers.

I have to give credit where credit is due, Gov. Brown is trying to cut half the deficit by spending cuts. However, he wants to get the other half by tax hikes, which sure isn't going to bring in any businesses.

Holy smokes (not)!!! CA is adopting a GREEN way to dispose of dead bodies...... drawback- some gets poured down the drain, which could be seen as disrespectful. (Reminds self-- never drink water or play in sprinklers, pools, nothing, in CA.)

As opposed to working with those companies to reduce emissions to reasonable levels? Hey, banking and the like are fine but a nation (even ours) needs to BUILD something and loss of manufacturing jobs hurts the blue collar worker in the US. Heck, hurts many middle class people and business owners periods.

I wish the Feds would cut off all Fed funds to sanctuary cities. We overwhelmingly passed a law here about twenty years ago that halted any State funding of medical or educational expenses for illegals, but it was toss out by the State Supreme Court.
What is this green method? I've never heard of it.

You obviously do not know much about what I "love." As for you, you are a self proclaimed cheater and drunk driver. We all know this, thanks to you.
