But thanks for doing it or at least trying. I so wish peeps would resize BEFORE posting as I've been doing for a while now. How do you do that? Some of us offenders may not know how to do that...

I resize by google images that have a more sizes to click on. If there are not anymore sizes I simply do not choose that image. This image started at 1600 x 1200 , I clicked on more sizes and got it down to 700 x 525.

taz, the other way to do it is to upload the image you want to photobucket or something and re-size it there. then use the picture's DIRECT URL to post the pic here on the board.

Sugilite, unless you're on a work machine with fixed software, I would strongly recommend that you switch to Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or Opera. They can all import your homepage and "favourites". On NMSNM, Proboards force IE to run in something called "quirks mode", which basically forces it to act like IE 6 (from a decade ago). It doesn't respect image size limits. It renders borders and images differently. It causes crashes and inconsistencies in certain skins. It forces a lot of the scripting that happens in a clean, instantaneous manner in all other browsers to be "simulated" using slower and clumsier code. It has an antiquated "cookie" model that wipes out all kinds of settings information that other browsers preserve. In the case of resizing images, it literally has to wait until the image is fully downloaded before it applies the limiter. If the image stops loading at any point, it stays huge forever. And the side bar shaking worse than a camera in a Matt Reeves film? Yeah, that's IE-only too. In short, you get "Not MSN Money, Dilapidated Edition" running NMSNM using IE, even if you're using the brand spanking new version. Making the switch is worth it.

I left a message in the Healthy Living section where MOST of the huge images are being posted, and suggested they only post pics that are a maximum 700 pixels wide. Some of the images they post there are 1600+W (desktop wallpaper-size).

Tonight: Rain showers before 11pm, then a chance of snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Snow level 5500 feet lowering to 3900 feet. Low around 36. West wind between 13 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Cool, maybe we will have summer by then also.

The only wish I have is that we could scroll back through the new topics, rather than being able to only see the 30 or so newest threads.

I've been thinking about putting in a feature like they had on the old MSN where the board tracks the five most recent threads a poster has contributed to and provides both i) notification if new posts have been added to those threads, and ii) single-click access to the most recent page of those threads.
The menu would be a HUD element (similar to the bar that Moon added to the left side of the page). It would appear as a small tab in the bottom right of the browser window. Mousing over the tab would bring out the full menu (the five links and notification icons).
Although this isn't a "longer list of most recent topics" per se, I think it would go a long way to getting people easier access to the threads that they're interested in.

There is already a way to get notifications for new replies in topics a poster has participated in. All they need to do is 1. bookmark the thread - there is a link at the top and bottom of each thread. 2. Click the Profile button 3. Click the Bookmarks link 4. In the top right corner, click the link for Manage Bookmarks 5. Select what notification options you like, then save. The new v5 version has a "Participated" link up near the top of the list of threads that will also make it easy to find where you've posted, though it doesn't have a "new" icon to indicate if there are new posts.

It would be similar to bookmarks, Moon, but with enough differences that I still believe it would be worthwhile. Firstly, it would involve most recently posted threads rather than explicitly bookmarked threads. This would eliminate the need for bookmarking and unbookmarking threads. Secondly, the links would be accessible from any page with a single click, rather than having to click on 'Profile', then 'Bookmarks', then on the desired thread. Hence, similar to the "participated" feature in v5, with special bonuses built in: - I would add the ability to "pin" threads to make the menu also act like a de facto bookmarker
- the menu would include "new" icons
- the menu would include links to the boards (which would replace the "quick forum jump" that we eliminated in favour of the breadcrumbs at the bottom of the page)
- the menu would be a low profile show-when-you-need-it HUD element, accessible from any location on any page
- we'll have it before April 7th, 2023, which is when v5 will actually be up and running (I'm talking to you, Proboards )

Maybe a copy of the above post can go into the v5 Announcement thread too, Virgil?

THIS year- not 2023. SL, I don't know that it would be appropriate to put it on the v5 thread because it's not actually part of v5.

GEL-it's now easier to see your name with my myopic eyes. I'm very glad, Tenn. If I had known it was difficult for those with sight issues, I would have asked for the change earlier. I know how irritating stuff that makes it harder to see is.
