Happy Birthday Dakota!
I'll be heading out of town tomorrow, guess I should get packed and clean up around the house a bit... it's going to be a busy weekend of driving.
Today ended up being a spend as I went to the chiropractor and then got gas in my car for tomorrow. I'm hoping for a no spend Friday and maybe just lunch on Saturday out at the fair.
Tired. so tired.

Yesterday was a spend. I'd forgotten we needed an emissions test in order to register the car this year, so I took the car to DH so he could get that done. While he was bringing me back to work, I decided I was craving fast food, so we stopped at McD's for lunch.
Last night I partook of some more productive procrastination, doing another load of dishes, a small load of laundry (I needed to get the shower curtain liner washed), and even some volunteer work. Thanks to a link posted by red_wagon on FB, I found sparked.com, a micro-volunteer site that lets you help non-profits out with little things. I created a volunteer tracking form for one agency and have contacted another that needs budget templates designed. However, since bribing myself works, I also got all the clothes in what will be the cousin's room put away. There's still plenty to do in there, but that was the goal I set myself in order to go get a mani/pedi today, so in the end, it was simply a productive evening.
muttley: Yay, but also ahhh, they grow up so fast
startsmart: have fun at the fair this weekend
MK: How's the puppy training going? My two were pests last night as I was trying to get stuff done. They wanted to help put stuff away, and at different times ran off with: wash cloth, pot holder, bra, 2 pairs of my underwear, 1 pair of the roomies underwear, and this was after playing tug with DH's socks while he was trying to get out of the house for school

oomph. I have no motivation this morning. As grandpa said "my get up and go got up and left."
so, friday morning discussion, Coffee: is it a need or a necessity? Also, can I write it off in my taxes? Discuss.
Talked to a partner in our business today after canceling a radio show for my client. Then 45 minutes with another team member about an upcoming telesummit. Now blahhhhhh.
I'm not going to leave until late tonight otherwise I'll get to Mom's house and end up doing nothing all day. We tend to talk!

A little Friday afternoon humor ...............
Shampoo alert!
As I was conditioning my hair in the shower this morning, I took time to read my shampoo bottle. I am in shock! The shampoo I use in the shower that runs down my entire body says "for extra volume and body"! Seriously, why have I not noticed this before?
Now I understand why I am so "full-figured"!
Tomorrow I am going to start using "Dawn" dish soap. It says right on the label "dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove."
It pays to read the warning labels my friends!

I am having a weird afternoon....
I just got notice from our Property Management Company that I did not get re-elected to the Board.
I am reeling in so many different directions I can't actually pinpoint what I am feeling.

Honey - LOL. Dang it, I knew there was a reason I had gained so much weight. Sorry to hear about your elections. Hugs.
So fun news, we have a company float trip scheduled for July! Yippee. Now DH and I just have to decide if we want to take DS or not. Decisions, decisions.

Honey - who counts those votes? I wouldn't put it past the yahoos for lying at this point. Either way, maybe a break is best and will let you get some space from el crazies.

startsmart - The ballots were sent out by our independent Property Management company, received by them and tallied. I don't necessarily mis-trust Billie Jo.
However, one thought that did come to my conspiracy-theory mind was that I would not have put it past the other two Yahoos to have gone door to door bad mouthing me to those not present at the meeting. After all, if they could slam me in public what would make me think they would somehow find restraint in private?

wow Honey, I know you must be disappointed because you're so very invested in making sure that your community has the best support from the board. At this point would you *want* to work with people who bad mouthed you as much as they did?
I'm working on emails but ug, I really don't feel like packing. Or doing the dishes.

Honey: Thank you so much clearing up just why I have been gaining so much weight! Dang coupon for the "extra volume and body" I need to stock up on Dawn, stat! Sorry about the whole board fiasco... Muttleyn: Yippee...Don't blink, they really do grow up that fast. I can't believe my DD is going to be in double digits at the end of this year....crazy I tell you, crazy! I might actually get a NSD today. I have even had a productive day cleaning and organizing, which translates into our house becoming even more of a disaster area. Really trying to get back to par before school lets out. This beautiful weather is making it incredible difficult to stay inside and get things done. My DH took a look at my blog for the first time today. I guess I never even sent him the link. He thought it was weird I was taking pictures of our dinner every night but just chalked it up to me being weird! Happy No Spending!

SO wiped out and have a busy weekend ahead. Tomorrow is mini-D's first friend b-day party. (It is at a farmstead, so I know he'll love it. I'm just hoping it isn't raining.) I've decided the limit is $10 total including card for school friends b-days.
Last night we went to a family style Italian restaurant for my b-day with my parents, grandma and DB's family. It was fun, but the service was slow. (I'm pretty sure that they dropped our dinner and remade our dinner, because about the time our dinner should have been coming out there was a huge crash in the kitchen.) We got home about 8pm and mini-D was wound and didn't want to go to bed.
Thanks again for the b-day wishes.
Muttley- Yeah on the potty!!
Honey- Sorry about the board.
Shan- I saw that post by red too and am going to do it next week when I have some free time.
MizBear- Hope they figure out the electrical problem for you.

Okay just booked the summer vacation accommodations. Only thing left is the rental car. We need a bigger car because mini-D can put his feet on our shoulders in our little cars and I don't think we can fit camping gear and clothes for a week in the trunk. So looking at renting a midsized car for a week. We are heading to Colorado, (Denver and Rocky Mtn National Park.)

Update: 14 NS and 7 CS daysI just realized that my count was off last time. I think it is correct now. Only thing purchased this week was gas -- needed CS. Well except for two meetings (on different days ) I think I am out for the summer. Exams are done, grades entered, two graduation ceremonies (HS and MS) attended, personal items stored and classroom cleaned -- all within an eight day period. SES-- sorry you are getting the rain -- we could use some about now. We haven't had any in over a month which is highly unusual for my area. Remember we are used to having 2-3 inches during a very heavy afternoon thunderstorm. Black Hills Question -- should I pack an umbella/rain gear? I am so trained to throw these items into a bag but since I am hoping to use only a carryon the less the better. Dakota -- Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you had a great one.

honey - Sorry about the Board - I know it means a lot to you to contribute to your community. Given how personally stressed you have been - this may be a blessing in disguise and allow you to cut yourself a little slack till the next Board election - when your neighbors come and BEG you to run again and fix it! 'cause you know they will! dakota - happy belated b-day!!!! mizbear - you ok hon? hugs ses - weather any better? we had all sun today (no rain) helped my spirits immensely mk - how is the dog training going? muttley - based on my friends experience - you have taken the first small step to a diaper free budget! congrats! moneysquirrel - enjoy your summer break! The CS spend days are going well - but no NS days yet. My NEO days are horrible. I have got to work on this - the money is in budget but it and the calories are being wasted and it has to stop. MOANs are limited still - but happening. Work was hell this week - just reached my personal breaking point. Kudos to me = I didn't yell, scream, smack anyone or cry. Just closed the door, turned on music and avoided people. And got work done. I took Friday off and think I will take next Friday too. Hawaii looks like a yes - so that is a bright spot. No news on the job front - but I continue working the process. I hate looking for a new job! mrslynch - thanks again for the Sick Puppies - Maybe - I put it first on the playlist and listen as I go from my car to my office! Hope everyone is doing well and hugs!

It is still wet and cold and drizzly. Are we sure it isn't really late October? We should not need rain gear for the Black Hills, but this year has been so strange I will let you know by the week before you leave. Has anyones' world ended yet? It is past 6PM so I guess we are safe.

Puppy training: Thanks for all the interest. The gal who runs it had to cancel it this week. We also had a garage sale this week so I missed walking him the last 3 days. (It has also been rainy and today I was knocked flat on my butt with a mirgraine. Worse I have had maybe ever. thus sorry it this makes no sense)
But I am working with him constantly. He is doing really well. My MIL came over today and he did really well. In fact he was been doing really well with the door in general. When someone is there he barks approaches with a wagging tale, sees the person and walks away. He has also seen my sister's dog twice this week and done really well. In fact I left the water bowl down this time. When he is drinking there are times when I just put my body between him and the water bowl and push him away. He did well both with my sister's dog and me. In the yard I am also working with him to heel without a lease and he is doing very well with that. No where near trying it out of the yard but it is a start.
Next week I am briinging a toy (to training) so they can work on possesiveness. I am guessing a lot of puppies have that issue since I didn't even mention it.
My mom and others have mentioned how much calmer he is also, don't know if it some maturity and/or training and my energy rubbing off.
Thursday he gets fixed then it will take a couple of months for the testoterone to leave his body and that should also help some.

Spending the night here with grandma and wow we just talked for over 5 hrs straight. I'm exhausted. I know grandma is 91 but apparently she's worried about giving other guys "the wrong idea" because she doesn't want them thinking she's going to get remarried (grandpa died in oct after 65 years of marriage). That's seriously her worry. How to let down all her suitors. Also, honey's Friday warning is appropriate since we should all be careful what shampoo we use because that gets into your brain. Uh, oh-Kay? How do YOU wash your hair? I'm pretty sure it doesn't penetrate my brain.... Back to the faire tomorrow.

Morning all -- I hope everyone had a productive weekend. I bought two high school graduates their gifts this weekend. I'm so proud of me for coming up with a gift, instead of money. As an aside, I think the stores are missing a beat. They should be advertising college dorm stuff now during graduation season instead of waiting for late Aug/September. I went to physical therapy on Fri for my left knee. My PT has banned me from Zumba and Taebo for at least 2 weeks. I'm bummed about that, but I can still walk, which should enable me to maintain the inches that I've lost.
dakota -- Happy belated birthday! I hope your jaw feels better. muttley -- stay off the sodas. Weight loss or not, there is nothing healthy about a soda. SES -- brrrr!!!! I've seen enough rain for this spring. This week it is forecast to be hot and a chance of a thunderstorm all week. I'm hoping the heat wins out. honey -- I feel bad that you were not re-elected to the Board, but then I also think this is a blessing in disguise for you. moneysquirrel -- yeah that exams are over. Enjoy your time off! shan -- Congrats on roomie getting a new job!!! MK -- yeah for progress with the puppy. start -- how was the faire? kcgal -- good to see you! Enjoy your time outside! I like when the weather cooperates. gas prices -- they are slowly coming down. There is an Exxon that I drive past on the way to work. It has the same posted gas prices as the Getty station across the street, except Exxon has added CASH to the sign. Now around here, Exxon tends to be the most expensive gas. I don't know too many people that pay cash for much, let alone gas, though there is a BP at the other end of the street that also has a CASH price. I guess these stations do ok, since they are still there, but it's just interesting to me b/c the warehouse clubs don't accept cash and their price is lower. Hmmm.

Please pray for the people of Joplin, MO. I'm just hearbroken for them, yet realived because it so easily could have been us. After the storm hit Joplin it headed southeast instead of coming straight east. Of course we're not out of the woods yet, they are predicting more strong storms today and Tuesday Night into Wednesday.
Last night, after the storm, DH was working outside and he could hear the emergancy response vehicles on the interstate heading down to Joplin to help.

Muttley- Glad you are okay! My bosses sister lives in Joplin and is okay, but she works at the hospital that took a direct hit, she is in admin so she is on the team trying to implement the emergency plans. Her husband works for the water department and has been at work since shortly after it hit. Prayers to all who were affected.
We had a good weekend. Nathan went to his first friends birthday on Saturday and he rode a pony and went fishing. (it was at a "farm." It is targeted to 3-6 set and they have lots of farm animals and playgrounds.) It was a good place to let them wear themselves out. On Sunday we got a new pc of furniture for mini-D. We really needed to get rid of the changing table since we don't use it anymore. It is 9 1ft sq cubbies and i got a couple fabric drawers to fit in them to store things in. He really likes it. Getting the changing table out and the TV tray next to the rocking chair out made his room seem a lot bigger. Last night we had our families over for a joint b-day dinner for DH & I. I made brisket. Yummmm. Unfortunately everyone else loves the brisket and there is never enough left over.

~PRAYERS BEING SENT TO JOPLIN, MO~ Dakota: Sounds like a great party. I have been wanting to get one those 9 cube thingy's for a while now, I missed the $39 sale at Target and now I just refuse to pay anything more! I wanted to get it before the Summer starts, for the kids activity room. I am so excited about our Summer. We have so many ideas in the works: science projects, speeches, poems, reading list, home made games to learn the 50 states and capitals. DD has to give a speech today in class. Her teacher is prepping them for 5th grade They were all assigned "How To Make A" speech and dd was given a Party Invitation. I don't know who was more excited me or her. It was perfect since we hand make cards all of the time. I gave her $5 and we went to the scrapbook store and she selected materials. It was a fun mommy & DD project to do together. It was different to have to write down measurements and such, we just wing everything around here She practiced last night in front of us, and I was so proud of her because she NEVER practices in front of us. Another sign she is growing up *sigh* Sruby: Do you have any scrapbook material left? Vent/Confession/Guilt: DD has her softball party on Sat and the parent of one of the girls works for our church in the children's ministry. She asked me if my dd was going to camp and I said, "yes, I need to register her." She looked at me with BIG eyes and said, "You haven't registered her? It is full and the waiting list is 18 kids long and to be honest not one of them will get in!" Holly Cow people I nearly had a heart attack, worse I mouthed a four letter word in despair!!! DH has been on me to sign her up but I have been so busy I kept saying I'll get to it. I once signed in to check the deadline and while I was doing it it said 20% and I thought it was 20% full but it meant I was 20% done with the registration process! I immediately thought DH was going to kill me and DD was going to need therapy because we already told her she could go and she has been making plans with her BFF. I told DH and he said, "well I guess it just wasn't meant to be" He confessed he was little skeptical about letting her go. It is really hard for him, more than me, to accept that she is growing up. While DD and I were shopping for her invitation material (guilt was the reason we went shopping, instead of selecting from materials we already own) I broke the news, with a million apologies, she said, "that's okay mom!" She said she really wants to go but understands what happened. I want to grow up and be more like my dd. I was expecting tears and lots of them. I my DD! I need to get busy cleaning. We are hosting small group at our house tonight and if you follow my blog, it has only gotten worse!! Happy No Spending

back home again late last night and I'm still a little tired. definitely drove too much for one weekend! The Makers Faire was fun, not as many cars in our group this year but I had fun with the other owners who brought out a 1911 and 1912. Lots of good pictures, drove around in Dad's 1906 car a few times and we were across from the bubbles! Yes, giant bubbles floating around all weekend. Staying with Grandma was okay but oh boy she wanted to talk and five. hours. later. I was finally able to go to sleep! Exhausting. I also got to drop off a baby present for one friend having her 4th boy to her parents. While she wasn't there (had already taken boys 1-3 home) I got to visit with her parents and older sisters. Then I dropped off something I made for the friends who have 1 week old twins. I create a Scrabble frame with their 3 kids' names for the nursery and they loved it. Today will likely be an expensive spend day - I need to replace my laptop and while I've been saving and I'm super close it's almost $2,000 to get the model I want and all the features I need for work. Pros: working computer and tax deduction for 2011, Cons: a lot of cash going out and then I get to spend the long weekend moving stuff over. Anywho, team meetings begin in an hour and I need my personal geek squad to weigh in on the computer before I buy. i.e. Blue Eyes and his brother ETA: the good news is that the amount I am short for the computer (which I'd make up as soon as my lazy client pays his invoices) is the same amount I earned in commission bonus for selling products at the conference a few weeks ago. So, I have the money just not in my bank yet. And I can't be too upset that my $300 netbook didn't last more than 18 months, it's a wimpy little thing.

azmom- I was not allowed to go to camps, etc as a kid- even the ones that I got scholarships to. I commend you on your efforts.
I will be so glad when everything is done at DGMs house. Too many cooks.
Prayers for everyone having this crappy weather.
I will most likely be off for a few days. I have a colonoscopy Wednesday- 3 years ago they found a benign polyp- a fairly large one of the type that usually becomes cancerous. This is my checkup. So, tomorrow I have to prep and Wednesday I will be drugged up. Thursday I will probably be useless and hungry. I should be back around Friday.
