On behalf of Dancinmama and all of the gals here, WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME to the Grocery Challenge from me - Suzi Q! This is the new change to our thread in response to many of you that requested that our thread be shorter and easier to follow. We will now create a new thread every month. We hope you like this change! Please look through the last pages of April's thread if you wish. There are also some good deals posted. Remember, this thread is not meant for you to read ALL of the pages. The information is fast and good, so just a few pages will do. if you have repeated a question, one of us will just repeat the answer, or help you. Everyone loves to help. I have copied Dancinmama's message to you from January, 2011, when we started posting on Proboards: If you have never clipped a coupon, or even if you have been using coupons for years, we'd love to have you join us. We are a crazy, fun-loving, and very friendly group of gals just chatting with one another about how to save big money using coupons. We are willing to help anyone, at any level, in any way that we can. Don't think that you have to read through the pages and pages of posts to join in - most of it will be old, out-of-date information anyway. Just go to the last page of the thread and introduce yourself. Tell us what area of the country you're from and where you shop (grocery stores, national chain stores, Target, WalMart, etc.). We'd love to have you join us on a regular basis, so don't be shy - just jump right in, have some fun, and save a ton of money in the process!! NEWBIES/OLDIES: If you post a HOUND ALERT requesting coupons from others, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE also post which insert/where the coupon can be found (Example: 1/2 SS) so that we can find it easily without having to research it ourselves. ALSO, if you need the coupon for a specific deal, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE try to remember to post the deal with your HOUND ALERT so that someone who may have the coupon(s) can decide whether they want/need to do the deal before sending out any of their coupons. THANKS!! POSTING ABOUT A DEAL / HOT COUPON: Some people get overwhelmed by the number of posts and only have time to skim the posts for the information that they need the most. If you are posting a deal, please post something that makes it stand out like "CVS DEAL ALERT" or if you are posting to tell us that there is a new, hot coupon available, please post something like "$3/1 WHOLLY GUACAMOLE IP ALERT". We want to make this thread as fun, friendly, and helpful as possible. These suggestions will save EVERYONE a lot of time when they are trying to "catch up" and read through past posts. Now let's have fun!! [image] Read more: notmsnmoney.proboards.com/index.c....3#ixzz1F4k8yGx2

Congrats on your free beans Suzi Q! Thank you, Leanna. Several of the more popular grocery stores used to do the same thing. If the the scanned price was different than the posted price, you got the items FREE. They no longer do this. You would think that they would continue the practice, since the Department of Weights and Measures issues stiff fines for those companies held in violation of charging more than the item was posted. We the public trust that the grocery stores will charge us the correct price, day to day, week to week. The reality is that there are many errors, and usually it is not in the customer's favor. Please remember or make a habit of checking your receipts. I have "caught" many errors, and none have ever been in my favor. It is nice that Fresh and Easy (grocery store) gives you the item free when they make an error. What is troubling is this: How long has this scanning error been going on? How many days? Customers? How many other items are being scanned incorrectly; and in the store's favor?

Well, I just burned some more EBs at CVS tonight. I stockpiled some Coffeemate powdered creamer using a rain check. Now, I have less than $6 in EBs on that card. If I end up spending down my cards, so be it. Unfortunately, I have more EBs than I have been able to roll. My CVS still takes expired EBs, but I want to do that only when it is absolutely necessary. When I do WAGs or Rite Aid, I usually get in when there is a deal where the item is free after coupon AND giving a reward. Unfortunately the opportunity to do this at CVS is VERY rare. Unless they start stepping up on some MM EB deals, I can easily see running out of EBs and sitting on the sidelines for a while.

It makes me sick to think that people are actually looting what little some of the storm survivors have left...how can anyone do that and live with themselves?
mommy: I hope everything turns out ok for your family. Please be careful and let us know if we can do anything to help.

CVS DEAL Read either at AFC or one of my regularly followed blogs that the Divine cookies are on clearance for 75% off. I hope it includes the chocolate covered ones too.
suziq I will check out the canned tomatoes. Generally my storees do NOT clearance until MUCH later than I see posted here, on AFC or HCW.
I have a new CVS that just opened 1.5 mi south of me. It is NOT likely to become my go to store as only my bank is near there and w/direct deposi, ATMs and epayments I seldom go. However, the Grand Opening mailer I got has 3 free items and a $10/$20 coupon. I will use the 10/20 for some stuff I need for my Dad.

leanna - one trick i read on the FAQs page is that when you have read a thread and see the "new" flag that shows new posts have been added, click on the "new" and it takes you to the last post you read. supposedly anyway. i haven't tried it yet because i just read it a day or two ago. but i think i will when i go check my southern racers.
ETA - i just tried it & IT WORKS!! it takes you to the new post of the thread so you just pick up reading there.

This is the second Sunday in three weeks that I have not had anything to go out hounding for on Sunday morning.
I was in CVS last night to do the Swiffer deal as my store still offers the new sales late on Saturday. I couldn't do the Colgate toothpaste though because it was on sale for $1.97 (the EBs wouldn't have printed) so I will be going back for that after my coupon roundup tonight (just a block away).
I also went to my Nob Hill for another round of Padrinos tortilla chips ($1.69 minus a $1/1 MC) and Knudsen sour cream ($1.29 with in-ad Q, minus $.50/1 when you buy Padrinos which is on the Padrinos bag). There was also a peelie on the Padrinos for $.50/1 on the chips. The cashier peeled it off and I said, "Oh, please don't use that; I have a better coupon." He said, "The $1 coupon? The register will take this one TOO!!" The limit on the sour cream was a limit of two and I had (3) $1/1 Padrinos Qs so I did two transactions in order to buy (3). The cashier didn't even blink an eye.
I also picked up (4) bags of Marianna's banana chips. They were price reduced to $.99 and I had (2) $1.50/2 MCs making them $.24/bag. I looked at the expiration and it is 8/2012.
I sure wish Nob Hill had good deals with Qs more often. I'm lucky if I'm in there once a month to get something on the freap.

TIA!! LAYS CHIPS Qs HOUND ALERT: I am looking for Qs for Lays Chips. Either the $1/2 Frito Lay Naturals (includes regular Lays) from the 4/17 SS or if there is one in this week's inserts (Pepsico 5/1). TIA If anyone gets this insert and has any extra Qs for Lays Chips, I would really appreciate getting a few extras. I am the chip and clam dip gal in the summer for most get-togethers. Chips on sale usually run me $1.88-$1.99, clams on sale at CVS have been running me $.88, and the cream cheese runs me $.99/8 oz. IF I'M LUCKY so even with good sales prices, it costs a minimum of $4 to make one recipe and I usually make (2) and take (2) bags of chips. Last year I got lucky because the Kraft Philly cream cheese singles were new on the market and I got a boatload for free, so I didn't have to pay for cream cheese at all last summer. That was a windfall.

I went to buy mine at WAGs last week and they had ONE box on the shelf. The next truck wouldn't be making a delivery until 5/4. Thanks to suzi, I asked if they would ring up (3) orders of (3) and write me a PAID RAIN CHECK and they did! THANKS suzi. KathyatTraverse: There is also a $3.50/2 IP. You can do two prints. EDIT: Okay, that one won't work because it's for 200 count; but there is also a $2/1 and you can do two prints so you'll get less, but it will be less in OOP. www.splenda.com/products/coupons$5.98 (2) Splenda -4.00 (2) $2/1 IP 1.98 --> $3RR for buying (2) Hope that helps.

dancin - i won't use the chip q's in mine. i'll send you those later in the week. i'll be getting 2-3 sets of inserts from co-workers & they may or may not realize those are extra q's not in the regular SS/RP/PG. be thinking if there's anything else. oh & BTW, i used the $3 swiffer q at WM & the guy scanned it no blinks - it didn't beep or nothing. so i'll watch for the pads/refills to go on good sale to use the other 5 i have. thanks for the tip!!!
