I play a lot of video games. Particularly WoW.
I also like gardening, walking my dog, reading, and hanging out with DH.

Hiking and playing Everquest. We just got netflix so we are starting to watch movies, but so far some of them have been too weird to be therapeutic.

Put my headphones on, turn on Pandora, go downstairs and workout! I get totally lost. I love it.

Lifting weights and running. I go to the gym every day during the week after lunch and it's a great way to blow off steam, get away from work and to just relax my mind. On the weekend I usually do 1 longer run outside and it's easy for me to fall into a rythm and just space out while I run.

I love to take a long walk. I live close to an entry/exit point of a beautiful trail along a creek. I also love to take a long, hot bath.
I love to read and watch Netflix, and play cards with family/friends (hand and foot, fun game). Those aren't to decompress, though.

If I'm stressed/angry/irritated, I love to put on some good music & dance--it's an excellent way to get rid of bad energy & get myself in a happier mindset. Also like tai chi for that purpose.
If I just want to chill out and get my mind off work, I like to cook or read...these things calm my mind.

Exercising usually takes all the stress and tension right out of me. Weightlifting and especially spending a few rounds wailing on a heavy bag. Doing just about anything with my daughters works pretty well too.

I like to read a good book and just get lost in it. It's especially nice when I can do that at the property in my hammock, just have to get up and move the hammock to follow the sun every now and then. It will be nice when I live up there and can just walk out the back door to go shooting too.

This works real well!! But I also love gardening, reading, baking, and of course playing on the computer! ;D Oh, and I enjoy listening to music too. All kinds: top 40, classic rock, country, classical, jazz, Christian contemporary, it just depends on what mood I'm in.

Just like SF, I like to grab dh and.. well... You dance too? I started doing yoga a few weeks ago and that really helped me feel recharged. I also like to relax with a glass of wine. Or, the aforementioned dancing, I really like to dance with BF.

I think any activity that gives you time to think and reflect on things helps you to decompress. For me, it's going to the gym/hiking/rollerblading/rock climbing/etc., and sometimes just closing my eyes and meditating.

Leaving the city for 2-3 days really helps. We went to the ocean for two nights to dig clams a couple of weeks ago it was worth the cost.
Did you notice people go to the shore in the east and in the north west we go to the ocean but in California they go to the beach. I see why it is beach in CA but ocean in the NW. Our weather and terrain is not what you would go to lounge on the sand. I was wearing a coat and rubber boots on the beach in the middle of April and my boyfriend wear long underwear under his jeans. We had hail and rain and very cold wind while wading in the ocean hoping the surf didn't go over the top of the boots. Some ocean has hardly any beach and you need to hike over rough areas to reach it at all. Some has rock walls you can climb to see the ocean but no beach at all so you can't call it going to the beach.

I'm retired so I wouldn't think I need to decompress. After wearing myself out at the gym, golf or tennis, I like to come to the MSN board and cruise around. I sudden nap attacks daily.

Surfing the net, watching a movie through Netflix, reading a good book, cooking, taking a nap.

Exercise. Body Combat or Kickboxing is best for decompressing and de-stressing, but most exercise does the trick.
If it's too late to exercise then I read my kindle, browse the web, play the XBox, or even on occasion watch mindless tv shows which enable my brain to keep processing the stuff I need a break from in the background.

Exercise does it for me, too- a long run or bike ride, or thrashing through the pool. If I follow a good workout with a hot bath and then settle in with a good book, I usually end up taking a nap. Better than Ambien.

It's either 'the beach' or 'the coast' and sometimes 'the ocean'
